Isamaya Ffrench is a British makeup arrtist and the former Creative Director for Byredo Makeup and the former Global Beauty Director for Burbery. Her collection is said to "embody a nonconformist understanding of 'glam'." In a previous interview she mentioned her line as being more "edgy" than what she's done in the past. Here's an excerpt from the article in British Vogue (I think we can include excerpts if I attribute them correctly. I guess we shall find out.) -

""Because Isamaya isn’t your typical beauty brand: it’s not selling you some repackaged notion of beauty in the traditional sense, nor is it relying on tired millennial tropes to appeal to a younger audience. It’s simply about providing the tools for people to express themselves in a way that’s incredibly freeing. “Everyone’s always banging on about make-up to transform yourself,” says Ffrench. “I’ve done the transformation thing, and I get it. But actually, I think make-up is a tool to return to who you are. @Sunnysmom, it doesn’t hurt to ask and I’m happy you did. Her initial release is heavily edited. Just 5 products. Not saying that’s bad or good. I think I may prefer that approach for a host of reasons, though I also wouldn’t mind if there were more of a color selection with the lip serum. I plan to do a more careful read of that article another time as it has a review of the products, but am mindful it is based on one person’s opinion.

Puig is set to acquire a majority stake in Byredo which has been valued at €1 billion! Not sure how I feel about this. After Puig bought L'Artisan Parfumeur, the house stopped doing anything creative and boundary pushing and now all the releases are what I'm going to call "commercial niche." Byredo has been doing commercial niche for ages but I feel like this just kills all possibility of Byredo doing anything weird ever again. Maybe it's a good match afterall.

Very sad to read Bite Beauty shutting down hence the 50% off all products through June 30th . 😢 I personally haven’t loved their reformulated lipsticks nor the other stuff but hate to see it go. Labs staying in biz at least. I read this on Temptalia.
