March has made its way to us, and to celebrate, we’re breaking out the beauty brackets for our second annual Makeup Madness Challenge in the BIC! For the next few weeks, eight popular makeup categories will go head-to-head in a showdown to snag the title of 2022 Community Champion makeup category. It’s up to YOU to vote on the winner … and share some tried-and-true beauty recs along the way (because why not?!). 😉

We kicked off round 1 with a matchup that sparked serious passion last year: lipstick vs. mascara. 🔥 Mascara ended up taking the crown in 2021, but who knows what will happen this year… especially since we’ll be adding new makeup categories to the mix in future rounds. 😏 Stay tuned!

WOW! So excited to see March Madness brought back for year 2 - I got so many recommendations out of last years game that were gems I would have never looked for otherwise!!! 

Going to lock in round one with a solid vote for Mascara, I do not leave the house without it! I've been working my way through one of the Sephora Favourites packs from last year (keeping my out for hopefully another one soon 👀) and so far my favourite out of the ones I've tried has been the MILK MAKEUP Mini KUSH High Volumizing Mascara 0.13 oz/ 4 mL I went in thinking it would be a bottom choice but it really surprised me - EXTRA volumizing and the formula didn't drop like a lot of the others did (looking at you Marc Jacobs).

I love, love, love my lipstick, but I have to say I look too sleepy without mascara.  Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Volumizing & Lengthening Mascara (but I need to curl my lashes first to get the full effect.)

If I were to vote for lipstick, (and I am sneakily voting for both here 😂) I would choose NARS Lipstick Damage

Team lip all the way! I enjoy a good red lip but I may have found a non drying combination. PAT McGRATH LABS Permagel Ultra Lip Pencil in Blood Lust with PAT McGRATH LABS LUST: Lip Gloss in Blood 2 . I was able to wear it comfortably for about 6 hours before removing it.
