March has made its way to us, and to celebrate, we’re breaking out the beauty brackets for our second annual Makeup Madness Challenge in the BIC! For the next few weeks, eight popular makeup categories will go head-to-head in a showdown to snag the title of 2022 Community Champion makeup category. It’s up to YOU to vote on the winner … and share some tried-and-true beauty recs along the way (because why not?!). 😉

We kicked off round 1 with a matchup that sparked serious passion last year: lipstick vs. mascara. 🔥 Mascara ended up taking the crown in 2021, but who knows what will happen this year… especially since we’ll be adding new makeup categories to the mix in future rounds. 😏 Stay tuned!

@TeamBIC I cannot live without primer of any sort.  Setting powder alone won't hold my eye or face makeup.  I love Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat Blur Face Primer Blur Primer Gold and MAC prep and prime 24 hour eye base.  Also you can set you face with a blush, bronzer, illuminator powder on top.

@SportyGirly125  This one’s so good for avoiding creasing in smile lines and I love the fragrance!  I just finished a bottle in a panning project and miss it already.

Somehow I missed the first week, just seeing this post now! This is an easy vote for setting powder. My favorite since sampling it a few months ago is still the Kosas Cloud Set Baked Setting & Smoothing Talc-Free Vegan Powder. Bookmarking this to watch for everyone’s thoughts, last year’s Challenge was so much fun.

Even though you missed first week @eshoe, very curious - would you have been lipstick or mascara?

@CarolBTI would have been on the losing (for the Challenge, that is) side of things. Mascara makes all the difference for me! Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Perfect Strokes Universal Volumizing Mascara Black is my current favorite for the year, although I still have the Wander Beauty Upgraded Lashes™ Thickening Mascara on my recommended by BIC list to try.

I have not tried the bronzer (I don’t wear it) but this gives the most light-weight yet forgiving coverage, @heartsmyface 🙌🏼

I definitely choose setting powder over primer. I need the powder to keep my t zone set all day. The only primer I need is for my eyes, but I can get by without it.

My favorite is Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder Translucent

@angel7594   Ahhh I know this is a cult classic and beloved by so many people, but this powder claims to be translucent but actually turns my skin yellow.  If they released another translucent powder with a pink tinge it would change everything for me!
