I was kind of a weird case because I was wearing a full face in elementary school semi-regularly. I was in dance and cheer at a young age and bright stage lights + extremely pale skin = a need for relatively heavy, dramatic makeup. Because I had sensory issues, my mom and I would practice with it every so often just to keep me used to it. I didn't start having my own actual makeup outside those kid makeup sets until I was in high school, I think, and I've never worn all that much anyway outside of when I'm putting on a costume or something like it, sort of like putting on a mask to make taking on the character even easier, but she'd do my makeup for me for dance recitals or even just because I asked on a weekend, a birthday, during school breaks, etc. all the way up through middle school. She's even helped me dye my hair almost every time I've done it since I started toward the end of middle school.I think makeup and stuff not being banned for me but just there if I wanted to use it let me decide that it wasn't really ever my thing most of the time. I like what I can create with it and that I can turn myself into a whole new person with it if I want to, but it's not really something I want to put effort into doing everyday and the feeling of mascara is gross, anyway, so why would I want to?Peer pressure could always be a factor for any kid at any age, but if they experiment with it and realize they don't like it before they're totally pulled into the idea that they absolutely need it by their friends and by ads and everything, I would think it would be harder to pressure them. Kids want to fit in, sure, but they're also stubborn as rocks.

I used to be obsessed with the Pacifica coconut dissolve cleaning oil for removing makeup. So much so that I’d stock up in the states and didn’t realize it’s been expired for a bit. I’ve been trying for a while to find a replacement I love and am still not happy. If anyone has ideas I’d be so grateful! Specifically looking for: -I’m lazy- I loved this product because I felt like you could put it on in the shower without the need for a cotton pad. So not looking for like a micellar water-product that removes waterproof mascara well -likely oil based/ my skin is drier so can handle it. thanks so much for any recs!!

I'm not really mad at them, I don't shop in store much so I haven't seen how accurate or biased some of these stories might be, but I am heavily concerned about the long-term effects of the damage they're doing to their skin now and how little their parents either know or care about it. Fragrances and essential oils are incredibly easy to be sensitized to, and you can't use that oil or fragrance without having a reaction to it again after that happens. These products also have a lot of actives and acids, which can break down layers of the skin, and a lot of really common allergens and their relatives and close pollinators and protein matches. I would know, I'm basically allergic to outside and also existing around humans and water. Trying to find skincare, makeup, and hair products that even just have a low chance of giving me a reaction is like trying to find a specific needle in a haystack made of needles. If I had oversensitized my skin to that degree, or even was just trying to avoid all my allergens, it would probably be impossible to actually find something unless I hired myself a chemist to personally make my products for me and ensure they weren't contaminated through the entire process. These kids don't know what they're doing, that it has long-term consequences, or why people are telling them it's dangerous because they're teenagers and they're having fun trying out all the things their favorite influencers are using all at once. And what pre-teen or teenager is consistently making Sephora money And getting access to all of it?! Their parents are the ones with the money and should be the ones who are responsible enough to look into what their kid is interested in. Instead, they're either disinterested so they don't know, or their kid is making them money and getting them status by being an influencer themself to even younger kids so they encourage them. Either way, I don't blame the kids, I blame the adults that keep buying their kids this stuff and letting them run around the stores like its a playground.

when you check an ingredient list five or six times before you even consider putting a product in the cart, and after a product you thought was safe starts making your skin 100x worse you find out you somehow missed an ingredient you know you're allergic to. it took over a year for my skin to recover from maybe a month of using this thing, it was horrible.

@makeitup305, 8 does look darker and warmer than 10. Maybe see how 10 wears on you? For me, it did get a little deeper than the shade that dispenses out of the tube. For Kbeauty cushions, I’m between 21 & 23 at the moment.

@ChaoticKai I have 3c/4a/4b/4c curl patterns on my head. To top it all off, pun intended, my strands are very fine. With all of those textures going on, taming, let alone controlling my ALWAYS thirsty, frizzy, chronically dry hair takes work. Holding onto moisture takes dedication, lol! My new favourite is Pattern Beauty Leave-in Conditioner. It addresses all of my textures. The kitchen, the baby hairs, the front-ear tufts, and even the parched crown area. It leaves my hair touchably soft for 2 to 3 days at a time, which is amazing, for me. This product made me like the way all of the areas of my hair feel
