@Scarlett1990 I’m sure you’ve already picked up a curling iron.for the most part they conduct heat in the same way so I would pick up a good heat protectant to protect your hair. It’s also important to remember, if you put a heat protectant in pre-blow dry, it’s gone after you’ve blow dried, it did its job. You must re-apply for every heat tool.

So, I went in with the current home team of Design Essentials Lavender line. I also used PATTERN by Tracee Ellis Ross Detangling Nectar for Curls & Coils 12 oz / 354.9 mL at the end vs beginning Then along came Beyoncé, or at least Cécred Silk Glaze, which I was hoping would do something This was blow dried. It's okay, just not the buss down imitator I was hoping for. I also worked inthe new Ceremonia Guava Gloss Drops against my discontinued OG Aloe Con vera. Couldn't really tell a difference. I also grabbed Design Essentials Silk Essentials Thermal Strengthening Serum instead of Sienna Naturals Lock & Seal Hair Oil Split End Treatment 3 oz this round. It was a product heavy process.... Which I wanted to minimize, like 3 at most. That ship sailed when I got to this point. I did have a much easier post wash detangle this time though. I think using the pattern post wash helped, but the magic was the Denman Tiger brush I just got. I used the Ceremonia Guava Rescue Hair Heat Protectant Spray 6.7 oz / 200 mL before and it's decent, but the brush was gliding through this time. I thought nothing was going to beat the Wet Brush for me, but never say never I was about to give up, but it was still early. Usually scrubbing my scalp and detangling take awhile, but I guess I was on a full yesterday. I am also still low-key terrified of my flat iron, but I decided to try the chase method again since I used a new serum (if you can call it that really I don't have a rattail comb, so I just swipe really quickly with a small one 😂🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️) Tldr: Don't give up. Cocktail the heck out of stuff. Denman for the win. Flat irons scare me. LOOK AT THE SHINE. My last silk press didn't shine like that TBH, but that wasn't my usual person, so whatevs. I can't get my roots to fully dry and I lack the tension needed, so it is what it is, but my hair is soooo soft today 🙌🏽

Ag recoil & AG light leave in conditioner. Along w/ a "dry" oil to seal ends (amika has good one). I also use olaplex every every other wash on ends & baby hairs, etc too. I LOVE AG re: coil!! AIR DRY or diffuse. Can dilute if too thick, but hard to mess up.

I like AG re:coil & combine w/ a bit of olaplex leave in conditioner or AG one, also seal split ends & baby hairs w/ ola plex or similar every other wash or so. I like to put some dry oil throughout to add shine as well, or refresh 2nd day hair. But I LOVE recoil- my mom has thick wavy hair & loves it, & mine is longer but also thick & more coily/wavy... it works great for both of us. Can't rec. it more! (Also like Philip Kingsley curl mask you apply pre-shower, & wash out). Deva curl isn't good bc promotes not shampooing hair & you HAVE to use a good clarifying shampoo occasionally to get all the curl product & hair tamers fully washed out of hair & scalp... otherwise promotes improper growth of yeast & bacteria & other micro fauna on scalp... also, product can build up on hair & weigh down individual hairs, leading to breakage & hair loss... over time, both issues can cause unhealthy scalp & irritation leading to hair loss & slower/weakened hair growth. The "curly girl method" is what deva curl was based on, & it doesn't promote shampoo use... which is NOT backed by science/dermatologists- that's why they had class action lawsuits & were discontinued... (it's not inherently bad, or bad for everyone... it's just an approach that's much more likely/easy to cause probs, which can be serious, & cause them in a lot more ppl than typical products). Also, make sure you see derm. yearly & you can ask abt personalized recs, hair/scalp issues, thoughts abt products, & professional insights, etc. (Plus can get checked for skin cancer- Do it!! &, make sure they check ur scalp! It's important to go YEARLY & get full body Checked... Even if have darker/melanin-rich skin). Be healthy, safe, & curly!
