@Juliette007, normally, you can only leave a hair mask in for 5 minutes. There should be directions on the packaging. I also looked at it on the website and it says to leave it on your hair for 5 minutes, and then rinse well with hot water. ❤️

I am usually a dirty blonde but with summer coming to an end soon, I want to change up my haircolor. I want to do an ombre or balayage style using tones as close to platinum blonde (or a smokey steal) to a dark dark brown/blackish... I am on a budget so the cheaper the better without screwing it up! Any brand advice or tips and tricks on how to apply the color ? Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi all, I've been using Living Proof "Perfect Hair day" and "No frizz" shampoo and conditioner for about a year but I realized it hasn't changed much with my frizz except that I went from washing everyday to thrice in a week. But I'd like to change it up a bit. I've been doing my research on Olaplex 4&5 and Pureology. I'm not quite sure which one will be better for my hair. I have a fine thin hair and I don't use much heat (straighten twice a month) I have an oily scalp with dry ends. If someone could please recommend either of these..

@elisfl Any update, has your hair improved? I’m really worried about permanent hair loss. I’ve been using olaplex 3 and 4 for a few months, it somewhat helped me with issues I was having before but then I noticed more and more shedding over time. When I used it again a few days ago the shedding was ridiculous while I was blow drying. I can see my scalp now on the crown of my head. Aaagh I am worried it’s going to keep getting worse! Any suggestions from anyone?

There is defiantly something wrong with the Olaplex shampoo and conditioner system. After 8 or 9 uses I experienced the same drying, limp and thinning effects. It doesn't happen at first but after a few weeks I noticed something was very wrong with this product. of course we are all upset and angry. The directions indicate you will experience shine and nourishment with every shampoo. I do not recommend

@EmmaHacker What are “all these protein products” that you’ve used that you think have over proteinized your hair? Plant based protein hair products, which are 99.99% of hair products that contain protein, CANNOT cause protein overload.

After a week of feeling like my head is on fire and dealing with the craziest itching sensation ever, I’ve concluded it’s the Olaplex. My dermatologist suspected hair dye, but that application had been done weeks prior with no problem. My Olaplex reaction did not happen as quickly as those in this post. Mine was more like a slow burn and then kapow, it hit all at once. This is my second application of Olaplex and it has happened again after healing my scalp with a topical solution from the doctor. Now I know the culprit is indeed Olaplex. It makes me sad because it does work wonders on my unruly curly and frizzy hair, but I can’t sleep or function with the hot scalp and itching. Obviously, there is an ingredient that doesn’t agree with some of their users. I feel like a warning needs to be placed on this bottle to have people do a test area prior to use. The burn and itch is awful!

@Mel231 Go with Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme 3.3 oz/ 100 mL before you blow dry, after you’ve finished mist ALTERNA Haircare Bamboo Smooth Anti-Humidity Hair Spray 7.5 oz on your hair. Then take a pea sized amount of the Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother Reparative Styling Creme 3.3 oz/ 100 mL and warm it up between the palms of your hand and run it through the ends of your hair for definition.
