You are neutral about M.W. and I don't like her. I guess that is all that needs to be said.
I agree with you totally. I ordered two of the shadows but they have not arrived as of yet. If I don't like them I will probably keep them anyway and try to make them work. I just find her to be fake & I think the cost of the shadows doesn't bother her in the least and the fact that they have the same ingredients as the Mac paint pots doesn't disturb her either because I find her to be a brand name snob. What I think disturbs her and why she bashed Tom Ford EmotionProof shadows is she realized it had the same ingredients as Mac paint pots a product that she could not use because she believes it gave her milia on her eyes. This is what I have a problem with because I believe she did not find any other problem with these shadows except the ingredients in them would prevent her from using them. I just find her extremely fake as if I see through that facade she puts on as being so nice and down to earth. She just totally rubs me the wrong way and I find her pretentious and disingenuous. I know it is my personal opinion but I also don't find her very interesting or talented in applying makeup. Other Youtubers really love wearing makeup and you can see and feel their sincerity whether they are talented or not they are genuine in their love of makeup. With Michele Wang I see it to make money for the sake of making money but also so she can hoard all her expensive products. I don't see her wearing makeup on a daily basis or even enjoying makeup as much as making money off her video's and being able to purchase high end product. We are there so she can make money and afford to indulge in her high end expensive obsession. I'm not along for the ride so I don't subscribe to her channel.
UPDATED POST
A note about formulations: If two products have exactly the same ingredients in exactly the same order, then they might be the same formulation. They could be different through changes in the amount of ingredient used but not enough to change the order of the ingredients.
@BeansCat, when I saw Michele's video, and drawing upon a conversation that and I had earlier in the day, I asked my spouse to take the ingredients of a MAC Paint Pot and a Tom Ford Emotionproof shadow and put them into a program that could compare ingredients. They were identical, meaning they had the same ingredients listed in the same order. We also input a MAC Paint Pot and a Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow pot (an EL brand) and, while there were ingredients in common, they were different. We compared ingredients of an Tom Ford cream shadow and a Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerize cream shadow, and they were very similar except there's more mica in the CT formula than the TF formula compared to the other ingredients.
When looking at the current formula for TF Color for Eyes shadows, where the ingredients begin with "Cyclopentasiloxane, Water, synthetic fluorinated graphite sample logos, di phenyl trimethicone chikon, not three tilpi / p Fiji -10/1 dimethicone, H. DI / methyl tree come hexyl lactone Cross polymers, silica hydrogel jeneyi Painted palm kernel glycerides,...", the formula is different from previous TF formulas and from CT's formula.
Note: There can be variations in the ingredients from what's posted online to the ingredients printed on a product's label, so it's important to see where there are differences and where there are similarities when comparing one product to another.
Thank you. That’s informative and another way of thinking about it. You really put time and thought into it. I still bought one so I can check it out for myself. I love Tom Form shadows and hope I can make it work and will get enjoyment out of it.
@TraceyEB def very good and valid points. I often think of this in the various lines of a parent company. Thank your hubby! Well done! 🤗
@SunnysmomI wish the brands were somehow more transparent. Will pass along your compliment to my spouse. He's a statistics guy, so helped with phrasing, so not to be misleading. 🙂
Sorry I have to bud in @TraceyEB, @Sunnysmom . It’s so great that your husband doing that for living @TraceyEB. 😀 I like stat and math ppl 😘
Love it @blackkitty2014 ! 🤗🤗 I like em too bec I am so terrible at it! 🤣
@blackkitty2014, thanks! It comes in handy from time-to-time. 🙂
@TraceyEB Me too. And I picture it just like apparel industry with the different fabric houses etc and vendor names, stores all in a row! 😳Same stuff different label or slightly tweaked😕😖🤣! And we buy it all. 🙄 And I do too! Waa waa right?! 👏🏻to the hubs!
@SunnysmomHa, ha! So right! Given how quickly TF LE items come to the CCO, I should go on a no buy until it hits the outlet store. Was just there a few weeks ago and was surprised at how much TF stock there was, given the location. Even saw Nude Dip there. But I must have something new for summer, hopefully at a discount. 🙂
@TraceyEB you are right about them! When I get to one I am amazed at how much TF they have! And such good $ oh my. I have gotten lips, shadows etc. Thank the lord not closer or maybe I wish so bec I would save more $!
Ugh! WTF Tom! Money saved I guess 😡
@TraceyEB I was thinking about the CT ones last night too, and hoping that if the TF ones do get discontinued she’ll keep making hers and come out with new shades from time to time. I knew they were close but didn’t realize how close so thank you for the analysis.
@Winthrop44I also enjoy CT cream eyeshadows I updated my earlier post as I found that CT had some shades that were very close to TF's earlier formulation and others where mica was more prominent in the ingredients list, which different from TF's formulation. The ingredients listed for TF's current cream shadows are considerably different than his previous formula and CT's as well.
@TraceyEB Thanks for the clarification/update. My skin has problems with cyclopentasiloxane so I won’t mind if they get reformulated again if they do ever come out with more!
@Winthrop44, it looks like they're moving in that direction. Let's hope there are formulations that won't cause reactions and are comfortable and beautiful on the eyes.
@TraceyEB luckily I don’t notice cyclops bothering my eyes, just my darn rosacea cheeks, but yes, it would make me happier to avoid it completely. Anyway, when this paint pot issue first came up a couple days ago I emailed TF thru their web site and asked if the current cream shadows were being discontinued and the answer was they may not be replenished as they are sold thru....which I take as a yes. I guess whether we’ll ever see a replacement for ones of this texture, or if the new paint pot variety will be it, no one really knows at this point, but my guess would be the paint pots will be it unless they sell very poorly. What do you think?
@Winthrop44, it's certainly looking that way. Thanks for sharing that TF intel! There seem to be the same 5 shades listed on a number of retailer websites, including Tom Ford's. I think Mochapj listed the shades that had been removed. All very consistent with your exchange with TF.
