Harvey Nichols doesn't ship to the US (at least that is what their site is telling me for this particular product). I have selfridges shipping but I'm not sure how harvey nichols works.
@Mochapj It looks to be a mistake. The Harvey Nichols page has it listed as the normal ones, and the ingredients don’t differ from the normal ones either.
These are gorgeous colors
@Mochapj Ah well, I know it isn't as popular, but I love my Venetian Bergamot. I'm glad I own it!
@MochapjWhile that sadly includes quite a few products I'm very fond of - including most of those fragrances - it'll be good to cull the line back a bit and give rise to new products. Private Blend is far too big of a collection right now...it'll be nice for some newness.
@Nuwc1998 I wouldn't put it past them to bring some of them back in the Private Blend Reserve line where they can charge even higher prices 😄
I also wonder if clearing the entire oud offering will lead way to another collection of oud releases, like they did with the 'vert' collection a few years back.
@MochapjYes! And, even if we really were to look at it...
Venetian Bergamot ate up Rive d'Ambre. It sold well to new PB clients bc of its citrus (easy-wear) but characteristically TF vibe (depth)...Fougere d'Argent has replaced that choice for men, and Soleil Neige has replaced it for women (and I personally find both to be better fragrances in general).
Oud Fleur needed to go for a while, as did Tobacco Oud. While they made sense with the original Oud expansion out of Oud Wood, Oud Fleur doesn't sell well in the NOAM market, and Tobacco Oud is far outclassed by Tobacco Oud Intense (which, while amazing, could also go away bc of its niche nature). Oud Wood Intense is also too niche for the general client.
Oud Minerale I'll miss! It's so unique! I will never go through my entire bottle, but it's wonderful.
I will be incredibly sad to see Plum Japonais go (they've toyed with that for a few cycles), as it's one of my true favorites (alongside Japon Noir, Moss Breches, and Lost Cherry)...but Lost Cherry is a more commercial offering that hits similar vibes.
Personally, I think they should also nix NP Forte, Fleur de Portofino, and Sole di Positano; Fougere Platine; Tuscan Leather Intense; Patchouli Absolu. However, I'm not in a coastal climate, so perhaps those eau fraiche do well in Miami, let's say. I'd be curious to see sales across larger regions for clarity.
@Nuwc1998 Ahhh, someone else who shares my adoration of Moss Breches. Every year when they've brought an old scent back, I keep hoping they will bring it (and Lavender Palm) back but so far, no dice.
i still recall when my SA texted me to say a new lavender fragrance was coming and I got so excited that it would be Lavender Palm. I ended up liking Lavender Extreme anyway but it seems utterly one-note when compared to the complexity of L.Palm 😭
@Mochapj I’ve been lucky enough to see brown-bottle editions of Lavender Palm still floating around sealed at outlets, but I still wish I could get my hands on the original chrome edition. I never did love Lavender Extreme as much - it makes sense as a fragrance (and to be the flanker for the Extreme color collection), but it isn’t my cup of tea...too much like play dough on my skin! I do think they need to phase out Lavender Extreme for another Extreme fragrance to flank.
But yes - nothing like Moss Breches! I’ve been trying to track down another 50ml bottle to no avail. Almost like the Fougeres, but with that beautiful beeswax note from Velvet Gardenia and Musk Pure.
@Nuwc1998 same. I have (now vintage, I guess) bottles of both but I also wished I'd been able to get one of the chrome LP bottles. Although, in retrospect seeing how the chrome effect turned out on the L.Extreme bottle, I am not toooo upset about it.
More upset that I am so sparing with 2 of my favourite scents because I know I am unlikely to find them again 😞
@Mochapj There’s something naively fascinating about the clash of that original gold label on a chrome bottle from the nascency of the brand. If I can ever find one...
You would think that for the 10th anniversary of the color collection, we would see some of the old PB come out in Reserve...but it looks like all we’re going to get is a Black Orchid flanker. I’m probably in the minority, but I’d been willing to spend $335 on bottles of Moss Breches and Japon Noir any day.
Really, I think Bois Rouge, Amber Absolute, Black Violet, and Velvet Gardenia should all join that mix, but I selfishly either already have them or have no interest (Bois Rouge, looking at you).
