Regarding the Shade and Illuminate Face and Eye Palettes:
Nordstrom briefly stocked them for the first time; they sold out in a matter of hours.
The Tom Ford boutique site restocked a few shades; they also sold out in a matter of hours.
Word from TFI is that they are currently on backorder, with more to ship within two weeks. That will mean the same thing for Nordstrom, too, but they will likely be a week behind TFI, if history tells. The interesting thing, though, is that they aren't listed as limited edition on the TFI site, so they may be likely a long-limited life situation...wouldn't be surprising, as Shade and Illuminate seems to be a pillar the brand is trying to grow again.
Oh man I missed it @Nuwc1998 . I just checked TF website yesterday
@Luvstravel Look liked the darkest shade Moss Agate is already sold out an hr ago. I see Rose Cashmere restocked on TF direct couple week back but I goes back and forth and it OOS. I may pick that one up with my Sephora GC if it comes to Sephora 😘 Hope we all love these. I have almost all of these eye and cheek palettes and the one I love the most are still the Warm one. 🤣😂
@Luvstravel Thx you Thx you ❤️ I ordered Red Harness and Moonlit Violet. It will be an expensive month 😂🤣
Not sure what everyone's state's status is, but the CCO near me just opened up again and I snagged two quads (Nude Dip and Silvered Topaz) for $65 (for both!). They also had Seductive Rose, The Last Dance, and Titanium Smoke. I'm hoping that they'll bring the discontinued quads eventually.
Mel Thompson's swatches of Visionaire and Meteoric. Visionaire can apparently be duped out with a few other palettes. In the video (where the screenshot is from) she wipes the bottom half of the swatches from Visionaire and compares them to shades from other quads. Meteoric is apparently all new. No idea when these are supposed to be out, I think @Mochapj might've posted swatches a while back, too.
Didn’t you have both of these @Nuwc1998 ? Do you think they are worth to pick up especially Meteoric?
@blackkitty2014 I do! They're lovely.
I think you can skip Visionaire if you already have Golden Mink and Disco Dust (and depending on how much you like that brown with the grey sparkle in Arabesque). While the colors are identical, I find that the red satin in Disco Dust is creamier. I also think the brown satin from Golden Mink is better in Golden Mink than Visionaire, but that's probably because my edition of GM is the old one, not like the Gold Deco variant (which has the same colors/same formula; the sheer sparkles perform better; but the satins are a little harder pressed...but same colors on the eyes and not really that different outside of the application/swatch experience). Visionaire is still amazing quality, but it isn't AS good (marginally) as Disco Dust and Golden Mink individually...but we're splitting hairs there. Plus, if you already have those two, you already have more variants between them (use the peach sparkle instead, or the champagne satin, etc.).
As for Meteoric, I'd say pick it up! I more so love the color combination all together - and that brown is actually a new shade, though the closest to it is the NM edition of White Suede. Personally that's the one I can't wait to get a backup of, since opening Seductive Rose just always disappoints me lol.
I know we're definitely in for a weird year of cosmetic releases, what with manufacturers across the world closing and reopening. I know many big brands had to scale down their launches and put forward their big bets only. That may be good for luxury brands like TOM FORD, though - hopefully it means we'll get only the great stuff, rather than the excessive fluff we have in the past few years.
@Nuwc1998 Hello! Can you please elaborate on the difference between the Gold Deco Golden Mink and the regular Golden Mink? I really like the LE packaging, but the reviews all say it's much worse quality than the original. I don't want to purchase a subpar palatte. Can you please tell me more what you think and about your experience with the two?
Thank you!
@CkittyoOf course! I will say - most of the reviews on Sephora for the Gold Deco packaging are woefully ignorant. The formula of Golden Mink has not changed over the years; it has always contained talc. What people didn't understand was that the wet/dry prisma formula does not, and that formula ingredient deck was listed on the site for all quads at one point. Just simple ignorance there.
Regarding Gold Deco vs the original: the formulas are identical. They have not changed. In the original edition, I have found that the glitter shades don't differentiate much; the entire palette feels creamy, and densely so; quality is superb, as to be expected.
In the Gold Deco, I have found that the glitter shades actually do look different - the peach glitter does show up more peach than before; however, the two satin shades, while creamy, don't feel as densely so, and appear marginally harder pressed than before (in line with Neiman Marcus White Suede, etc.); quality is still superb, color payoff is still stellar. The only real difference to me is the aesthetic of swatching them, because they still give identical looks on the eye (better with a peachier glitter!), yet you may not feel as much "give" in the pan when finger swatching the new one.
Thx you so much @Nuwc1998 @for the detail feedback. I will skip Visionaire since I already have the original Golden Mink and Disco Dust. I definitely will pick up Meteoric now 😍 Do you think these will be launch in the US along with the new 4 face palettes as part of Nordstrom anniversaries?
I've actually seen what the Nordstrom anniversary launches will be from my SA - so I can tell you it isn't Meteoric and Visionaire, but it many ways it's far more exciting!
