The other thread was getting too long and difficult to load!
So what are your beauty pet peeves? What grinds your gears? Share your stories!!!
@heartsmyface I don't actually know what "wax" is, but I've heard it mentioned here before and completely forgot about it. So thank you for reminding me! I will go look that up.. Maybe it IS safe to use after all. I sent CS a closeup photo to double/triple check and they insisted (in bold words this time) that it's fine, so your guess may be right.
When you force yourself to use a palette you're not fond of & you end up with a glitter bomb on your face and all over your counter 😑..... Thanks YDK, yet another reason I hate the Naked2
@ElleElleG i like that idea! my goal is at least to pan 1 palette in my lifetime lol. i think it will be the chocolate bar or your nemesis naked 2! and i'm all about including looks. i get lazy about wearing makeup, so challenges are a huge help for me!
@ElleElleG @fairlywell Yes!! I'm so into a panning thread. It's much different than an empties thread! I always love to see what someone loves enough to pan. I rarely pan anything!
Yes to the panning thread, @ElleElleG! It's very rare that I actually hit pan on a product before I end up moving onto a different product, and I really need to focus on using what I have instead of buying a bunch of shiny, new products.
@ElleElleG Start one! I can't believe we don't have one yet.
@fairlywell Oh absolutely, Progress pics are a necessity!! I agree with your prior post that it be centered around something more long term (that's eyeshadow for me but blush, highlighter, lipstick, foundation, etc. all work for me).
Perhaps we could have a monthly check-in with progress photos and in between photos of the looks we create. Of course if we need suggestions/recommendations/etc that can be asked there .
In January I decided I would focus on 2 palettes I wasn't particularly fond of throughout the year. To keep things interesting I added a one month/one palette to the mix in February which I took a break from for vacation this summer so I need to get back to it. So maybe start the thread now so people can figure out what they want to use and get started by September 1 at the latest?
@unfungirl what are your thoughts??
@ElleElleG Do it! I will try to participate! Suggestion though: to keep it current would you consider progress pics as well? I'm afraid it will get buried under all the talk of samples otherwise. 😂
@fairlywell @unfungirl If you ladies really want me to I can start one. I have some photos of my progress I can work on uploading tomorrow sometime.
@ElleElleG Ugh I feel you. I've done a decent job getting rid of all the eyeshadow palette so I don't use, but there are a few I hold onto that I really don't like that much for some reason. It's like when you're trying to use up a product that you don't love but you don't want to get rid of because It was expensive, and it constantly underwhelms you😐
heartsmyface wrote:@ElleElleG i would love to participate I. A palette panning thread! Any excuse at all to make myself wear eyeshadow everyday! Choosing a palette may be diffficilt but all I have to do is hit pan right?
Yay, glad you're in @heartsmyface!! If you ultimately want to hit pan then yes! I worked on one project where I wanted to completely use up everything and a different project where I focused on a different palette each month. For the latter I didn't care if I hit pan or not I just wanted to put dents in palettes I tend to pass by otherwise.

@ElleElleG I would be into a panning thread! To me that's different than empties, which seems to be about likes/repurchase potential and the satisfaction of finishing a bunch of foils. I would see a pan thread as more of a long-range project mainly for color products? Especially if we get some looks to go along! I say do it!
@unfungirl I hear you! I've actually challenged myself to pan some of my less popular /least used palettes with some good success overall. (Somehow I fell into the panning videos on YouTube and got inspired). I thought about creating a panning thread here but wasn't sure if others were interested especially with the empties thread.
@NotCrocker my goodness that is wayyyyyyy too much glitter! cleanup HAD to be a disaster.
OMG @NotCrocker I'm the same as @txcatx, my face also suddenly got itchy thinking about all that glitter!
OMG @NotCrocker @heartsmyface I'm imagining the horror of all the glitter that would get into my contacts if I were to try a face full of glitter like that!
@heartsmyface I legit have no clue, but what I do know is that no matter how long ago this is from, she is STILL finding glitter bits EVERYWHERE.
@Tamara76@veronika23@NotCrocker@txcatx@fairlywell How in the actual expletive does she not have glitter in her eyes? Mine would probably be red and inflamed by the end of applying that!
