Here are my first picks from Chanel's new releases: Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sun-Kissed Powders in Deep Mauve and Medium Rose Gold, Ombres Essentielle shadows in Jade Facetté and Rose Coral, and Noir Allure mascara in Orange Bruni. I am loving the Deep Mauve in particular. The pigmentation level of the shades is extreme, so I apply the bronzer and highlighter shades together using a fluffy brush and a very light hand to reproduce the sunburnt colouring my skin gets in the summer. I can get away with adding the blush shade by wearing it very lightly high on the cheekbones (see below). I could carefully use the bronzer as a cheek contour. I like Medium Rose Gold palette, too, though the effect is more subtle, giving hints that there is colour on the face. Swirling all the shades together gives too much of a golden tone on me, so I apply the shades separately. Both palettes will get lots of love from me! Now to play with the eyeshadows. The new mascara shade Orange Bruni is giving me Fall vibes. I plan to wear it on the lash tips over brown mascara.Wearing Les Beiges Sun-Kissed Powder in Deep Mauve.

The Frozen River: A Novel by Ariel Lawhon is a historical-fiction mysteryabout a 54-year old midwife who investigates two crimes in the late 1700s in a small New England town. The story begins with a body found frozen in a Maine river in the winter of 1789. The town's midwife (and our protagonist) is called to identify cause of death, which she determines is murder. The main character, Martha Ballard, was a real-life 18th century midwife who, at a time when most women could not read or write, kept diaries for a 27-year period, documenting the weather, political and social issues, and her midwife duties and practices. The story itself is not based on any specific entry into her diaries (as the author fully discloses in the informative notes section at the end of the book). They are all calling me too! I have been slammed with work this week so today’s the first time I have to evaluate and decide. I’m not sure I can decide and definitely considering the full set, lol. I have to do my friends’ makeup for their wedding, maybe I need ALL NEW BRUSHES for their minimal makeup looks, lol. @danielledanielle

Before I wash my hair, I use the Mielle light rosemary oil on my scalp and pure almond oil on my ends (both ~$10 on Amazon) and let it sit in a bun for 2-4 hours. In the shower, I use the Sephora scalp scrub before shampooing to get rid of any excess oil and keep my scalp from getting greasy, and I try to do a hair mask in the shower every two weeks (Amika has some great ones!), which is great for damage, and after I finish showering I use Amika Hydro Rush leave-in conditioner, CHI heat protectant, and Olaplex No. 7. I've been doing this for about 5 months and my hair feels super soft and is growing like crazy!
