Hello BIC! Whether having a set of makeup products all picked out in advance makes it easier to get ready in the mornings or if you're looking for a fun way to use the new-to-you and tried-and-true products in your collection, welcome!! 👋 Please feel free to join in as a theme suits your style or piques your interests. We love seeing and being inspired by what beauties everyone is using. 💋

Here we are, last month of 2025, and we have a couple more capsules to squeeze in before the year is over. We've been doing weekly capsules but for this last month, we're going to switch to 2-week periods. That said, if you like the weekly format, there are options this month that you can choose to do, to keep up with a rotating weekly capsule.

How does this work?

To add a little bit of fun and creativity to curating a makeup capsule, there will be a weekly theme or prompt on which that week's group of beauty products will touch upon. There's no need to have every single product for the week fit the theme exactly. All you need is one product. And, truth be told, how that product fits into the weekly theme is subject to interpretation. Yours, primarily. So, please feel free to be creative. This is about finding a set of makeup products that work for you and your lifestyle, whether already in your collection or waiting to be discovered (or, in some instances, re-discovered) by you. 

How Can / Do I Participate?  

There are several ways you can participate - You can post a photo of the products you use or tag and list them, as you like. You can give someone's post a heart and / or ask questions about products in someone's capsule. You can post a different capsule every week or once a month or every once in a while, when a theme grabs your interest or draws your attention. 

When and where are/will the weekly themes posted?

The themes are (or will be) included in the original post - under the section titled "Current Makeup Capsule Theme" or "Upcoming Makeup Capsule Theme". Occasionally, I will post a link to a separate post with the monthly themes.

Switching things up a bit with the cadence for our capsules as we head towards closing out 2025 with the makeup capsule challenge. For the last month of the year, we are going to go with 2-week capsule periods.

Why weekly? 
Years ago, beauty & lifestyle blogger Serein Wu, did a weekly series (on her blog and YouTube channel), Makeup Bag Monday, where she rotated her makeup bag each week with new product launches and makeup already in her collection. If weekly works for you, great. If not, feel free to join in based on what works best for you. 

When are the weekly themes posted?
I generally try to post the themes for the next month about two weeks before the start of that next month (so around the 15th of each month, give or take a few days), except that, for this month, weekly themes for weeks 2 thru 5 for January will be posted by or before end of the day on January 2. Weekly themes are updated at the end of the then current week (e.g., Sunday). This year, I will plan to update the weekly themes the Sunday before the start of the next week's theme, around 9pm Pacific / 10pm Mountain / 11pm Central / 12midnight Eastern Time.

What if I don't have enough products to fit the theme for a full face?

There's need for your entire makeup capsule to fit the weekly theme(s). Just one item will do. And, even if you don't have one that fits squarely within a theme, feel free to post your makeup capsule. We'd love to see what you're using and hear your feedback on the products as you put them to use - are they a favorite or a potential favorite? Are they just 'meh'? Or, is it time to declutter the item(s) from your stash?

Is there anything else I should include in my capsule?
It's all up to you what to include in your capsule. Some weeks, my capsule consists of completely different items than the week before. Other weeks, I've swapped out just a few items or have included additional items in one category of products - some of us refer to this as giving us options for the week. 

You may see reference to "fits." That was creatively coined by our fabulous @danielledanielle and refers to the bag or component that will hold the week's makeup and, specifically, does all the makeup for the week's capsule fit into the bag / storage component. You ca also include the makeup brushes and tools you use for application, if you wish.

November 2025 Makeup Capsule Themes

MONTHLY THEME: In addition to our usual weekly themes (see below), we will have a month long capsule theme that shines a spotlight on the beauties we pick up during the holiday sales. That's right, for the entire month of November, feel free to curate a makeup capsule (1) based on the weekly themes listed below, or (2) incorporating one or more makeup products you pick up during the holiday sales this month; or (3) based on a mix of both the theme of the week and any product(s) you've hauled during the holiday sales. Speaking of holiday sale hauls, remember to stop on by theNovember 2025 Monthly Hauls! thread to share what goodies you picked up with the Community 🛍 or the looks you created with those finds at the What are you wearing in 2025?? thread.

Week 45 (November 3 - 9) - The "Sweater Weather" Makeup Capsule

I don't know about you but autumn weather is settling in and I find myself reaching more for my thicker sweater and coats. Let's embrace the warm and cozy autumn vibes in our makeup choices this week by curating a capsule made up of one or more products that complement the fall season and your unique individual style, be it by way of a product's texture, tone or hue. 

Don't feel like you need to limit yourself to your makeup either when it comes to sweater weather season. If you have some fall fashions to go with your fall face, be sure to head on over to the The Fit, The Fab and The Face: Outfit and Inspo Thread to show off your seasonal outfit of the day. 

Week 46 (November 10 - 16) - The "Collabs & Crossovers" Makeup Capsule and/or The "Sleeping Beauties 2.0" Makeup Capsule 

We've got options for this week's capsule. In addition to the monthly "holiday hauls" capsule theme, consider putting together a capsule with one or more products

In celebration of Thanksgiving (US), curate a capsule with one or more makeup products for which you are grateful. It can be a product you were gifted, or an item you received as gratis, or a makeup product or tool that changed how you do your makeup or changed your makeup / beauty game. Week 44 - The "Baubles, Palettes & Sticks" Makeup Capsule

I've been out of town and decided to just carry over the makeup items I've been using the last 5 days into this week. 

💎 = bauble

🎨  MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Skin Face Essentials Long-Lasting Full Face Cream Palette for redness around nose and to even tone on cheeks and lower T-zone; will also be used as blush, bronzer & highlight, and occasionally for lips if I want more options

🌺 Not really a makeup product, but I thought I'd included a couple of notes on it here as it does add significant value to my look and makeup capsule  #Violette fr. Invisible Bandaid is specifically for a couple active breakouts on my chin and nose and for a few healing (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation) PIH dark spots on my chin and sun spots around my cheekbone/eye area. There's a learning curve in terms of how much to dispense and use as well as how to apply it. It needs some time to dry after applied but it provides a fabulous coat over the blemish / dark spot that makes applying makeup over it (and getting it to stay) so much easier

💎  We're counting this little pod sample of Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Creaseless Precise Angles Concealer  a bauble - it is rather cute, at least in the world of samples. The blister packet holds a lot of product and the shade and product has worked marvelously for me at concealing the discoloration due to dark spots and sun spots. I thought I was set on go-to concealers but this is making me wonder whether I need to reconsider the current collection or add to it.

💎  SEPHORA COLLECTION Microsmooth Multi-Tasking Baked Face Powder Foundation - the dome shape of the lid on this 🐐 powder makes me think of baubles. I used this item last week and will be using it this week primarily for setting the YSL concealer between layers over the blemishes on my chin and nose. 😫 This has also come in handy when my nose is smidge shinier than usual, which is often the case when I've been flying. That recycled cabin air really is not a good match for my skin. 🙄

🌻  Hourglass Mini Ambient® Lighting Powder Dim Light is here as a finishing powder and to add a little extra glow/highlight to the cheeks. It's in my Pan It! - 2025 Challenge and one of the products I've been trying to reach for more often in the last quarter of the year.

🌷  #Danessa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Liquid Blurring Balm Mattifying Setting Spray - for me, the effect on this one is a nice mix of the mattifying effect from the One/Size setting spray and the dewy hydration from the Pat McGrath Labs setting spray. Does it replace both? I don't know ... which, in this case, is to say, probably not. I haven't had time to put them to the test against one another and with the One/Size, the best battleground for that will be in the warmer seasons, so for now, they'll all stay in my collection.

🏒  #Danessa Myricks Beauty Colorfix Stix - Multi-Use Pearl Pigment Stick for Eye, Cheek & Lip - Duo #6 (but just the metallic Celeste shade) - one and done, no need for primer. One pass over the eyelids gives me a lovely just-a-little-more-than-a-wash-of-color look. 2-3 passes amps up the color. I have 3 of these duo sticks and for most of them, it's the metallic side I like best. Hoping to see refills available for purchase at some point, individually (vs bundled in their duos).

🏒  Charlotte Tilbury Super Nudes Lip Cheat Contour Duo Lip Liner Medium - I'm soooo very close to finishing up this lip liner (see spoiler). One side is done - ngl, it wasn't the side I thought I would finish first, and it wasn't the shade that was on track to be used up first either, but that fill shade saw a lot more use (as both a fill and line shade) for one reason or another during this last trip and so here we are, just a little bit of the more taupey-brown liner shade left. Given how little I have left of this liner, it could be a mini or bauble. 😅

💎  DIOR Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss 001 Pink - this is the hero product among my lip choices - it, of course, adds a soft, subtle shine to whatever color I have or will have on my lips, but it also adds some dimension and makes my lips look fuller, both of which are needed as the shades in the MUFE palette and the fill and sculpt hue in this CT liner can look a bit flat or muddied on their own. Love the effect just a touch of this gloss adds to the overall lip look.

The "Fits": 

💎  In real life, the makeup items in this capsule were divvied up between my 3-1-1 TSA compliant liquids bag and a separate bag containing all my non-liquids. Going forward for this week, they'll be stored in this baby blue faux-crocodile print (I think it's meant to mimic a crocodile print) pouch from Cle de Peau. With a little finagling here and there, all 8 makeup products + the Violette fr. liquid bandaid all fit nicely. It's cute, on the small side as far as my makeup bags go, a bauble in its own right!

Week 44 Recap

Not surprisingly, all went well with the products in last week's capsule. I have added to my list of "things to look into" an all-in-one type of palette similar to the MUFE, but with powder products. 🤔 I know CT and Ilia have ones but I'm not sure about the shades; to be more clear about that, I have a feeling I'd prefer a mix of the shades in the two CTs and the two lightest offerings in the Ilia. I'm not in a rush and there's already so many beauties to be distracted by with the holiday releases so far, but it'll be in the back of my mind. 

In other news, the Charlotte Tilbury Super Nudes Lip Cheat Contour Duo Lip Liner Medium has been polished off!

I hope they will introduce more shades into their lineup - I kinda miss my tradition of picking up a new lip item from them every sale. Oh wow, DM Groudwork: Defining Neutrals + Lightwork VII?!!! 😍 That's one killer combo of palettes. I think all the shades in Lightwork VII are beautiful, but do you find yourself with any favorite shade(s)?

P.S. I was surprised too that you didn't do an all-sticks capsule but you have a fun set of beauties with this mix.

Week 43 - The Global Makeup Capsule 🌎

Despite my best efforts (and multiple attempts), I was not able to get this week's capsules down to eight (8) 10/10 products from 8 different countries. Instead, for this week's global makeup theme, we have a full-face capsule consisting of good or great products from ten (10) different countries, either through the brand's origin, headquarter or founder(s). 🙌

Complexion:

🇯🇵  Cle de Peau The Foundation (Japan) - a skincare - makeup hybrid. It's really a lovely formula, but would we expect otherwise from CdP?! One of the items from thePan It! - 2025 Challenge. Seriously, @blackkitty2014, major kudos 👏 to you for working your way through (on a regular basis) your luxury foundations - wait, we can just go with "foundations" - all your beauties are luxe! 😍😘  

🇫🇷  Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Creaseless Precise Angles Concealer (France) - this concealer has been a surprise hit! I may have to make room among my top concealers for this one. 🤔😂

🇮🇹  Prada Reset Rebalancing Refillable Setting Powder (Italy) (not pictured - it missed the photo op; I grabbed the wrong Prada compact and was too tired to go into the other room to grab the setting powder) - blurs, sets and does a surprisingly nice job of softly diffusing much of the redness around my nose. 

🇺🇸  Danesa Myricks Beauty Yummy Skin Liquid Blurring Balm Mattifying Setting Spray (USA) - I like the dual functionality of this one, a lot! Among my favorite / go-to setting sprays. This sits somewhere between the One/Size mattifying and Pat McGrath Labs dewy/hydrating setting sprays. 

Eyes: 

⭐  Concealer & powder for primer

🇨🇦  Hung Vanngo Beauty Eye Kohl Taupe for liner and shadow (Canada) - I rarely use kohl liners but this one somehow works well on my oily lids. Absolutely no idea how that is the case, but it does. 

🇰🇷  Clio Kill Lash Superproof Mascara, 04 Extreme Volume (South  Korea) - one of my favorite mascaras - the entire Kill Lash Superproof line is 😘

🇩🇪  Catrice Magic Shaper Contour & Glow Stick 2-in-1 Matte Contour & Shimmering Highlight (Germany) - the highlighter end for inner corners 

Cheeks:

🇨🇳  Blush, Bronzer & Highlight: Florasis Constellation Floral Engraving Contour Makeup Palette (01 Silken Myth) (China) - the packaging and the detailing on the product itself is exquisite. 

⭐  Catrice duo stick (Germany) - contour end of the duo stick for nose contour - the shade and undertone are a smidge off but I can make it work. I prefer a cream formula for contouring my nose, a technique that continues to be a work in progress.

Lips:

🇬🇧  Charlotte Tilbury Super Nudes Lip Cheat Contour Duo Lip Liner Medium (UK) - I'm determined to finish this lip liner before the year is up. Granted, there wasn't much product to begin with, but still, I am committed to trying to use it all up this year. We're close. This was put back on my radar after seeing @Mellmars1185 use it in the 100 Days of Lipstick Challenge.  

🇦🇺  Lanolips Best Peach Lip Balm 101 Ointment (Australia) - part of my ongoing reorg / declutter / clean up project has been to try to finish / use up as many of my already open lip balms / glosses / oils as I can. This  Lanolips balm is/was part of the first group of lip items, and, while it's been slowly coming along, I am pleased to say that I've been moving through a few products from that first group; slowly but surely. 

The "Fits":

I thought it would be fitting for this week's global theme to go with one of my TSA compliant 3-1-1 liquids bag for my makeup pouch this week. 😉

@miss8, @danielledanielle is correct, you set the budget. There has been, occasionally, a capsule theme, that involves a dollar limit (i.e., the "under $25 USD (or $ CAD equivalent) but it's flexible. Also keep in mind, that you just need one product to fit into the week's theme / prompt; of course, you can have more than one or all the items in your capsule fall within the theme but you don't have to. There's sometimes another theme running during the week (or a monthly theme every now and again) so there's a likelihood that there'll be a product already in your collection that can be tied-in to a capsule. Jump right on in with your makeup beauties.

@miss8, the challenge does not require money in the sense that it's designed so that folks can participate with products that they already have in their makeup collection - no need to go out and buy (spend money) to puchase products to join in the challenge; of course, as beauty lovers, we can 😀 but there's no requirement to do so.

Regarding participation, I looked up BEAUTY INSIDER COMMUNITY GUIDELINES (Updated 3/10/2025) - within that post there are, among other details and inforation, (1) links to more detailed terms and conditions regarding Sephora's policies, including its Beauty Insider Terms and Conditions and (2) guidelines regarding use of information and materials contained within the Forums, including but not limited to, privacy and intellectual property rights. As members, we can, in accordance with the guideline and terms and conditions, participate in this challenge on the forum/threads on and within the Sephora Beauty Insider Community site. Non-BI members would not under the guidelines be eligible to participate.

Wishing a happy Thanksgiving to all of our Canadian 🇨🇦 BIC beauties! Hope you had/have/are having a wonderful holiday with your loved ones. And for those of you partaking in Thanksgiving Day sales, I hope you score some fabulous finds, beauty and non-beauty alike.

And, now, to the business at hand ... 

Week 42 - The Indigenous People's Day Makeup Capsule, The Canadian Thanksgiving Makeup Capsule, and/or The Samples 2.0 Makeup Capsule

This was my initial set of products for the week’s capsule. 

All are samples except for the 2 lip glosses (far left, above the Gucci lip sample packet), both of which (Jason Wu Beauty & Cheekbone Beauty) are Canadian founded/owned, and one of which (Cheekbone Beauty) is also indigenous founded/owned. While this bevy of beauties hits upon pretty much every category of makeup product I’d need for a full face, this felt a bit too much for me personally for an everyday look - part of this may have had to do with getting comfortable with wearing just concealer, powder and mascara for the previous three day - my most minimalist look, other than when I was on vacation). That said, if I didn't have other things I need to fit in my 3-1-1 TSA compliant liquids bag, I would consider this group a pretty good selection of makeup products to take on a trip.

So I shopped my initial capsule a little more judiciously and came up with this lot.

From 33 products to 16. 😊 Still a little more than I typically have in a weekly capsule (on average, I usually hover between 10 - 14 items) but this set is more streamlined for my liking and needs. I like options but too many that early in the morning can actually take up more time than I should spend on deciding what to use because it starts to feel like staring at my closet longer than necessary, feeling like I have nothing to wear. 😂Which defeats one of my personal purposes for this capsule challenge. We shall see how well I stick with these beauties or if / when I reach into my initial set of goodies this week. 

ETA: Oops 🙄, forgot the product list the first time around. Here it is:

COMPLEXION

• Primer - Gucci Hydrating Silk Priming Serum 1 (promo gwp & digital masterclass giveaway) - my normal-to-dry skin appreciates the extra hydration it gives. My wallet worries about what this interest in another Gucci product will mean.😉
• Base - unless I decide to go super low key with just concealer in a few places, this could very likely the week when I put the Armani Beauty Golden Hour 24HR Lightweight Skin Tint with Hyaluronic Acid and Gucci Glow Skin Tinted Moisturizer with Hyaluronic Acid & Bakuchiol to the test.🥊
• Concealer - speaking of concealer, the Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Creaseless Precise Angles Concealer has really been performing quite well. I feel like I have my fave concealers already, but ... 
• Setting Products - ONE/SIZE by Patrick Starrr Mini Ultimate Blurring Setting Powder for my T zone, my nose in particular as the transitional weeks means my oil production goes a little crazy and needs some extra help. MAC Fix + Makeup Setting Spray all over to meld all my makeup together.

EYES: 

• Primer - Concealer + powder as primer 
• Eyeshadow - Lancôme Idôle Tint Liquid Eyeshadow & Eyeliner - these have been surprisingly good. I was a little nervous given the consistency but they set fairly quickly without transferring or bleeding even on my oily lids without a primer. I’ve only used one shadow at a time so one not sure how they apply or wear when worn with another shade. Maybe I’ll give it a try this week.
• Eyeliner - skipping this week but I can reach back for the stila Mini Stay All Day® Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner Black. Or, try my hand with the Lancome as eyeliner - ngl, that seems like it could be very messy on my lids.
• Brow - Kosas Air Brow Tinted Clean Volumizing Eyebrow Gel - I’ve narrowed it down to a couple of shades - Taupe and Medium Brown, though I wonder if a mix of the two shades might be best. 🤔
• Mascara - Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Mascara - I’m a little iffy on this one. For whatever reason, Chanel mascara has never been a go to for me. I’ve worn their beauty products for decades now and have always enjoyed their foundations, lip products, eyeshadows and blushes. Bronzers, highlight, and contours too. Their mascara though has never got on well with my lashes. We’ll see if that’s changed; I have my bottle of MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Seal 0.4 oz/ 11 g at the ready just in case.

CHEEKS: 

• Bronzer - MAKEUP BY MARIO Softsculpt® Multi-Use Bronzing & Shaping Serum with Hyaluronic Acid to under paint
• Highlight - Yves Saint Laurent NU HALO TINT Highlighter with Vitamin E - it gives a soft healthy subtle glow without showing textur
• Blush - I haven’t been wearing too much blush lately, if at all. 🙁 I’ve included it in most of my capsules but haven’t always reached for it; or, when I do, it’s been applied with a very light hand, just enough to give me a teensy hint of color. I’ve been wrestling with some dry patches/texture issues and some redness from it on one of my cheeks, so I haven’t been wearing much blush the last couple of weeks as a result. That said, if that clears up and I feel up for a little blush, I’ll rotate between Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer Cream Blush Provence and using these MAC Powder Eyeshadow samples as blushers. A couple of the latter have enough red in them that my eyes are probably not going to like them at all (read: puff up bigger than a puffer fish), but my cheeks historically have not had that issue/sensitivity to red coloring/dyes. If my cheeks are looking and feeling less sensitized this week, I’ll give them a try,

LIPS:

• Gloss - My main lip color this week will be Cheekbone Beauty Healing Lip Oil - Limited Edition Resilience Red. If I want a softer lip look, I’ll reach for DIOR Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Plumping Gloss 001 Pink. If I’m feeling adventurous, I’ll DIY a bespoke lip color with the Dior lip gloss and an eyeshadow from the MAC sample card. 

Fragrances: 

• It'll most likely be a selection of samples from past SEPHORiA events and the discovery sample sets that are part of Shop Your Stash / Use Your Stash Challenge: Fall 2025 🍂🍁 - I'm almost done with the PHLUR Fragrance Discovery Set so I *might* prioritize what fragrances I have remaining there.

The "Fits": 

Yep, it all fits snugly in the Rare Beauty puffy makeup bag. 👍 It's a repeat bag as well for a host of reason, including that I like it a lot. It also is an excellent tie-in to some ongoing themes this month in celebration of a couple of meaningful occasions - LatinX/Hispanic Heritage Month which comes to a close (calendar-wise) this week (10.15) and Mental Health Awareness Month.

Quick recap from Week 42's makeup capsule. Overall, it was a good capsule. I was focused on clearing up some texture issues on one cheek so I didn't get a chance to use many of the cheek products in my capsule. 😥 

Week 42 Capsule Recap

These were the standouts (the good kind) from last week's capsule - 

• Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Creaseless Precise Angles Concealer - I really was not wanting to bring another concealer into my collection but this YSL All Hours concealer might be hard to resist. One of the colors in this sample card was very good for covering some pesky pimples and dark spots. The corresponding foundation is also excellent if you like a full coverage foundation (looks lovely applied with a beauty sponge for a more sheered out, lighter (but with still a lot of coverage) look. 

• Cheekbone Beauty Healing Lip Oil - Limited Edition Resilience Red - love the formula, love the color. It looks much deeper and darker in the tube. It can be built up to the color but one swipe gives me a pigmented, but more sheer finish. It's a good red for someone who doesn't wear reds often or who may be ready to move beyond a red-tinted lip balm. 

• Lancôme Idôle Tint Liquid Eyeshadow & Eyeliner - smudge-proof and crease-proof without a primer 👍 and in its full size tube, it would be easy to use - the blister pods in the sample card worked out fine, but there were a couple of instances where it could have gotten a bit messy. I'm maxxed out with liquid eyeshadows in my makeup stash (in full disclosure, I have maybe 4 or 5 liquid eyeshadows, but for me, that's more than plenty) but if I felt like I wanted to add another to my collection, I would consider this one from Lancôme if I found a shade I really liked. 

Not sure if it's just a temporary thing (hoping it is) but the scent on the Gucci Hydrating Silk Priming Serum 1 really got to me this past week @danielledanielle. 😣 It could just have been an isolated event as I was already tending to headaches last week (and not just with the Gucci primer), but, oh my goodness, the fragrance on it felt a lot more intense than I remembered it being from the previous times I used the primer. I'll have to give it another try ... much later though.
