I realized we don't have an OOTD, outfit of the day thread, which isn't needed but can still be a lot of fun.  It's dress up for me, but make it adult.

This was part spurred by my natural hair journey, Tress Trek - A Transition Journal from Relaxer to Natural and NYFW and Zendaya.  99% Zendaya.

The Fit- this can be your attire, or what has arisen from the Capsule Challenge, your makeup bag.  Hair and fragrance "fits" count, too

I had a lot of fun with this one @danielledanielle. I couldn’t find anything in my closet that was even remotely close to that ruffly blouse Jacqueline wears to the gala - it’s simple with its design and lines but such a showstopper. My top with a little ruffle to it was not anywhere near the league of that top. 😆

@itsfi Wow! I love this whole outfit. I love a tweed blazer, and those earrings are so cool! That's a lovely looking palette as well!

Awww, thank you @PrettyPaint. It's been a lot of fun finding ways to put together a certain look with things I already have, makeup-wise and wardrobe-wise. I only started getting into tweed blazers a few years ago; have always loved the look of them but started picking them up when I'd find one that caught my eye. This one is a nice neutral but still adds an extra flair. I have one that is more white/cream with mixes of black, blue and gold that I need to pull out and make an outfit of. It's nice that the jackets go well with basic black, of course. The earrings!!! They're one of those things where I was like "should I get them?" and I wasn't going to but then I tried them on and, well, here we are. Hahaha!

The weather was really nice the other day (today, less so) and I was able to get by with a few less layers. 

The Fit:

• Black thin-striped shirt - from amazon
• Mavi bootcut jeans - from Nordstrom
• Black Michael Kors trench - I love trench coats; I just love coats in general.
• Mango burgundy purse - I like the retro-feel of this handbag; it doesn't hurt either that it's roomy 👜
• Kendra Scott necklaces - if I'm remembering correctly, these were part of her collection for Target a couple of years ago
• Deep red/burgundy belt - I don't remember where this is from - either Target or I took it from a dress I have?
• Brother Vellies 3" block heel, ankle strap pumps (shade: Midnight) - the side slits at the bottom of the jeans actually do a nice job of allowing the detailing of the button on these shoes to show through a bit more than they otherwise would. 

The Fab:

• The heels - had my eye on these Brother Vellies for a while; these can be dressed up or down, and will be one of my go-to shoes this spring/summer and maybe early fall. 👠 

The Face:

• The pretties from Week 10 - Capsule Makeup Collection Challenge - the MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Skin Face Essentials – Longwear Full Face Cream Palette makes for a quick and easy face taking care of my face and cheek makeup, and lips too. PAT McGRATH LABS Mini Eye Shadow Palette: Midnight Voyage gets me my eyeshadow and eye liner. I went for a simpler, one-and-done shadow with a deep aubergine liner.

@itsfi I'm loving the whole look. I have been so curious about the Make Up Forever compact - how are you finding it?

Thank you @PDXXXX! I've been loving the Make Up For Ever compact, more so than I thought I would. I like the convenience and how multi-functioning it is - foundation, concealer (for redness, not so much blemishes or dark spots, that I use another concealer), blush, soft highlight, lip color, bronzer and eyeshadow. I do need a setting powder, but that's not a dealbreaker. It's great for quick and easy looks, on the go, etc. I'll be interested to see how it performs in the summer months. I picked it up last year but didn't really start using it until late last year / this year and so far, one of my favorite products. 👍 I'll try to swatch and take photos of it in natural light tomorrow.

Someone called me a catalog 🥰 ... I dieeeeeee💀... Like yusss, I don't need validation, but appreciate it, every now and then!

The Fit: Big ol' BR coat on its last days with Grace Elayae slouchy hat and my big Square Ol' Rich Lady sunnies.

The Fab: This is the only winter coat I have that's long and not black/brown/gray. I should've taken better care of it, but I also lucked out and got a second (different fit) one, so I think knowing that made me reckless.  If you don't look too closely, it looks good 😂

The Face:  that lip is a full Ami Colé combo.  Ami Colé Desert Date Cream Blush & Lip Multistick Flame + Ami Colé Soft Shape Waterproof Lip Liner Petit Cola with Ami Colé Hydrating Lip Treatment Oil Romance 

The Fit underneath

 this is all RTR, I wish the cardi had pockets 😔, but the skirt does.  This was warm and chic.

That's an on-point compliment @danielledanielle! Lovin' your whole outerwear vibe 😍. 100% agree on pockets on the cardi - it looks so warm though which is a huge plus. The sweater underneath looks nice and warm too - what's the neckline on it?

The Fit: Matchy Matchy with Sandro.  Plus these Old Navy jeans and boots.

The Fab:I like the matching pieces with denim inlays which worked so well with my jeans.  It's cute, but it's thhhhiiiccckkkk. It's also Barbie-esque.

The Face, a happy mash up of Capsule Makeup Collection Challenge 2025 & BALETTE ROYALE: Showdown of the Shadows where Rihanna is the inspo and the capsule, (which I'll post...eventually) is a Pat McGrath edit.  I've been trying BoB edits for the month and it's gone we'll.  Elson 2 is the lip.

Heh, I do think Elson 2 > Elson 1.  One is a deep red blue that I sure I have dupes of, 2 is like a poppy version of that IMO.  I think there's four Elsons...or six (?)

There are 6, @danielledanielle??? Actually, I can see that being the case as I think about it more - isn't there an Elson lip pencil, too? Hmmm ... I feel like there could be the makings of a mini holiday Elson set. Or maybe she's done that already?

100%, gotta go with gifts to self every now and again!! Like everything else, we have to keep working on that skillset - we don't want it to go away. 😅

Yah, @itsfi ...technically 6.  The lip pencil is Elson, but if you wanted to call it 6 for the format, I'd agree.

Elson 5 is a satin allure, that's the one I had to look up.

I'd go for that holiday set, despite of having 1-4.  Why? You know. FOR SCIENCE 🧪

We're back on The Devil Wears Prada inspired outfits, this week with one influenced by Stanley Tucci's Nigel. 

The Fit:

• Express black collarless jacket - this goes waaaaay back, vintage. Material feels like a cross between suede and wool
• Ribbed, long-sleeve crewneck - this is from either GAP or Old Navy. I pick up a few every year in different colors; they're staples. The one I wore with this outfit is a cross between an oatmeal heather and a light grey heather shade. 
• Navy blue, plaid, wool, pleated, A-line skirt - I lucked out with an opportunity to receive a facial and the aesthetician had a skirt that was almost on point with the print Nigel wears in TDWP and the aesthetician was rocking it! I let her know I loved her skirt and she let me know she found it on amazon, which is where I found this one that suits me more.
• Black, pointed-toe, knee high boots with stiletto heels
• Freya New York Caroline bag - shade: pecan
• Red tiger eye necklace - the one in the photo, from etsy, gives an idea of the one I have - mine is less shiny and the surface of the gemstone is more flat

• the skirt - I like the movement it has - it works really well with the print
• the purse - I'm a fan of this indie brand and have this particular style in oat (and maybe black (?), it's not good I don't know for sure. 😬😅

Keeping it simple as I work on strenghtening and lengthening my nails - three coats of 786 Cosmetics Deep Nutrition Treatment. My index fingernail started to tear so I had to cut and file it down just a smidge.
