I realized we don't have an OOTD, outfit of the day thread, which isn't needed but can still be a lot of fun.  It's dress up for me, but make it adult.

This was part spurred by my natural hair journey, Tress Trek - A Transition Journal from Relaxer to Natural and NYFW and Zendaya.  99% Zendaya.

The Fit- this can be your attire, or what has arisen from the Capsule Challenge, your makeup bag.  Hair and fragrance "fits" count, too

It’s such a fun movie to watch and rewatch, @danielledanielle; well, I can really only speak to re-watching from the perspective of the fashion, as I fast forward to various clothes scenes. 😆 I am looking forward to Meryl Streep’s Miranda Priestly looks. It’ll definitely put a fashion flare to the basics our wardrobes might have in common that I wouldn’t think to pair together but for the film’s costume designer, who did a phenomenal job on this film. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Express and GAP had stores across the street from my school back then and I would make sure to take those routes home on their markdown days, even if my last class was in another part of the campus. 😝 Even then I loved to shop. 🛍️🥰

We're interrupting my "The Devil Wears Prada" inspired dress-up tour for two outfits/looks from this past weekend's and yesterday's Lunar New Year celebrations.

LNY Look #1: From last weekend, an early Lunar New Year celebration dinner.

The Fit:

• stud earrings - these are my staple everyday earrings
• envelope clutch, snake pattern  
• Faux wool (very) long coat, burgundy (a Tar-zhay find)
• Sheer tights, black
• Long-sleeve, high neck dress with cuffed sleeves, black
• Pointy-toe pumps, burgundy patent, with black bow  

The Fab:

• the clutch - while I may pick up a lipstick or balm in different shades and flavors and even shoes in a different color, my handbag collection is a lot more unique in that there are not very many duplicates. This may be one of two - I have this clutch in a black lizzard print but it was the first iteration of the clutch and the corners were rounded

• the shoes - these go back a ways and are probably considered vintage now (photo from poshmark) - one of my favorite pair of shoes.

Sephora Collection Mini Nail Polish L43 It Girl (discontinued) - one of my favorite reds. I *may* add some nail art to these over the weekend.

The Follicles: 

After dinner lips - I used the darker, plummier shade from the Dior palette - the color applies very sheer. Curls/waves done with BondiBoost Clever Curler 1 ¼” Curling Iron with Ion Technology 

The Fragrance:

LNY Look #2: Last night, a lower-key dinner when everyone was done with work

The Fit: 

• single breasted pea coat, black
• A-line sheath dress, red
• quilted tote, black
• adjustable snake ring, gold
• 3-inch pointed toe, stiletto heel boot, black
• cuff bracelt, black
• I also had on a black cardigan but it didn't make the fashion board.

The Fab:

• the boots - they're comfy and give me a little extra height 
• that snake ring - it's adjustable

@itsfi Thank you! I have had the Doc Martins for maybe 3 years now and I just started to wear them. I gave up on them after getting blisters. I realized just recently that it was probably because I was wearing ankle socks 😅. I am glad I gave them a try again. I especially like wearing them at work because they don't squeek on the floors (unlike all of my other shoes).

Fit: Shacker + Plaid pants and Multi colored loafers

This was before the dreadful cold came in, the Fab was how everything actually worked well together.  The plaid pant wasn't what I though it'd be, but the orange lent itself to tying everything together.

The Face... Thank goodness for timestamps, because I forgot.  This was a cheek Challenge, I think it was a very Villainous one I never posted.  I love the lip, it's Fenty's Arcane Kaboom and MUFE artist color in whatever black.

Pantone Colour of the Year 2025 - Mocha Mousse I should also post a battle of browns... But yeah, I've leaned into this and I think it's a persona for me now(?) and you all are so kindly co-signing this madness😂 as I become Miss Mocha Mousse .

The Fit RTR Ulls Johnson.  I might just buy this sweater, I keep thinking about it..the pants are rented, too... But brand new.  I think I might just pay the hold fee for these for a couple of months...Shoes, second appearance here, BR boots

The Fab: Inspired by @itsfi and her Lost Pattern Scarf... I've been on the hunt for houndstooth, and finally found some.  Bantu Knots are becoming more and more my protective style of choice for my hair

The Face: this is Miss Mocha Mousse week for the Capsule Makeup Collection Challenge 2025 

The Fit: I love this Gap sweatshirt, it's from a collab with Cult Gaia.  It's cropped just right, and roomy without looking too baggy.  And the hat, is Ami Colé, y'all!

The Fab: all things 90s. The Gap. Bucket Hats.  Brown lip and liner.  Gimme gimme.

Oooh, 7 years, that's pretty good.  I don't think I have the willpower.   Refresh that wardrobe!  A wardrobe refresh doesn't always require something new, it can also just be pairing things up differently, layering differently, or just ysing something else a different way.  For awhile, I used to have certain outfits, like things I would always wear together, but it's sometimes good to mix them up, you might find new fave outfits from what you already have.
