I realized we don't have an OOTD, outfit of the day thread, which isn't needed but can still be a lot of fun. It's dress up for me, but make it adult.
This was part spurred by my natural hair journey, Tress Trek - A Transition Journal from Relaxer to Natural and NYFW and Zendaya. 99% Zendaya.
The Fit- this can be your attire, or what has arisen from the Capsule Challenge, your makeup bag. Hair and fragrance "fits" count, too
The Fab - What you loved enough to be inspired by or loved the most about your look
The Face - the proooodduccctsss, so I can add to my loves list, y'all. Or a pic of your face
Note: posting your actual self is optional. Feel free to post pics or lists of what you included. This really is about seeing what others are doing and getting inspired to try or retry things.
Also feel free to cross post to existing threads (and browse)

What are you wearing today Pt2
@itsfi love this outfit and your accessories (I love that you have a hair clip from high school!), I know you looked super stylish in this! It also seems like a comfortable and practical outfit too, which is definitely a huge plus!
Awww, thank you @caitbird; that’s so kind of you to say. I’m so much more into comfort than before. 😆 Some days I’ll wear this outfit (or a similar one - black skinny jeans or more tailored pants) with a pair of heels. I like the functionality and versatility of this one.
lol, I have a handful of hair clips from high school - it’s how I can tell I have less hair and thinner hair than I used to. I wish I had my hair scrunchies too - then I wouldn’t have to keep buying them. They are to me like socks are to other people in that I always seem to be missing one. 😝
I feel like this is a study on effortless comfy-casual, but chic @itsfi .
Also good call on shoe switch, I hate when my shoes get muddied or damaged when I saw the weather changing or knew about it and forgot 😂😭
Thank you @danielledanielle! That’s good of you to say. Though I want to, I never feel I ever get casual chic down. I only wore two pairs of shoes when I was in Atlanta - my booties or sneakers. Oh, make that 3 if you count my slippers I wore in my room. 😆
This thread is gonna be fun for me (my wallet is thinking “don’t you already have enough “fun” with clothes purchases?!!” 😱 😆).
Hey, maybe that's a part of the casual chic, like you're too casual about it 🤣
Also...Yeah, I realize the problem bonus (?) I've potentially created here @itsfi
Love the reframe @danielledanielle 👍🏼 This bonus is well timed. I’ve been meaning to put some extra effort into my fall wardrobe. I’ve generally had a “uniform” of some sorts and that’s made it very easy - from suits / very corporate business wardrobe to business casual (and all that can entail) to just phoning it in with black slacks or jeans, a cute top and a blazer or cardigan. I can’t say I won’t fall back to any of these, but this might give me more incentive to shop my stash, and, like I said, put more effort into finding a blend of classics and trends that suit me. Thank you!
OOTD let's goooo
The Fit: chartreuse blazer over a teal wide leg jumpsuit! I never wear blazers (pretty sure this is the only one I own and I had kind of forgotten I had it) so I felt very mature and put together at work today🤣
My shoes:
Fun fact, I have discovered that I have to wear heels with this jumpsuit bc it is so long on me, if I wear flats I trip over the hems every time I go up the stairs 😅
The Fab: I love this cat in the moon pin I wore today! I have so many cool pins but I never remember to wear them lol
The Face:
A colorful look to match my outfit!Featuring some newness, including Danessa Myricks Beauty LIGHTWORK VI The Freedom Palette: Magnetic, Customizable, Stackable Palette w... and Tatcha The Kissu Lip Mask in Kiku Kiku - Orange Blossom 💜
Will cross-post the full details of this look to What are you wearing today Pt2 and Capsule Makeup Collection Challenge
Your eyeshadow is perfect @caitbird
@CorgiMommy thank you so much! 😊
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! Especially the colorways and it's a jumpsuit! @caitbird
The cat pin just cinches everything together, too.
@danielledanielle thank you so much! 💜
omg, I love those pants @caitbird! And those shoes! You look amazing from head to toe! Gorgeous!
@itsfi thank you so much! 💜
Great thread! I would love to see and learn more of your style tips. I’m rarely very put together and Colorado is so casual most of the time, but always looking for inspiration! @danielledanielle
@sister13, I'm no fashionista, but I have to disagree - I love your casual and dressed up looks - clothes, hair and makeup. 😍
Exactly @itsfi . Your tinsel in hair is already 💯 @sister13 and I loved your looks at Sephoria, esp the sundress
Also r\t your comment - I am just happy to talk about clothing and style choices whenever, I always like looking at how people put things together, even if they don't realize how put together they are. Like, my BF hunt for comfy pants and trends from high school, but we have very different tastes. We can definitely shop together, and I can kind of guess what she gravitates to and she the same. She has specific nails and brow needs, so sometimes I all about those, but I enjoy her style as is.
I don't have hard set rules, but I kind of fall into specific trends or habits and go from there. Like if I like a look, I'll try to recreate it, but also if I enjoy a trend, I try to do it in a way that suits me (like the vest as shirt one). Apparently suiting is also a trend, but I just like wearing brightly colored suits.
Thank you so much! @danielledanielle @I definitely have done less shopping for clothes since the pandemic and working from home. I do like to add some fun jewelry when I have a moment!
These are from last week(?) before(?)
The Fit: Banana Republic, which is where most of my stuff comes from for work. Sales, y'all. It's a really flowy, ivory drapey jumpsuit with a reversible shawl
The Fab: This is inspired by Zendaya's red carpet looks for Dune 2, minus the robot suit
The Face: inspired by an ad, this used PAT McGRATH LABS Mothership I Eyeshadow Palette - Subliminal and then I went pretty neutral elsewhere. Definitely had Ami Colé Hydrating Lip Treatment Oil Happy and Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Fenty Cheeks Suede Waterproof Powder Blush Bakin' Cakez in the mix
This was a lot of fun. Hair was a work in progress, but I dove into the vest as shirt trend that I think was also Zendaya inspired
The Fit: on old old Navy vest with BR relaxed trousers
The Fab: I didn't love the vest as a shirt trend at first, but I was going through my clothes too give things away and found this. I liked the colors and I like argyle, so I figured, let's give this a shot. Easy work outfit because nothing needed to be iron vs a button up. I liked how it looks! Sometimes a trend can work. I also love my loafers.
The Face: I think this is Mothership I, but I opted for all neutral eye
The Fit: This was my second attempt at Bantu Knots, done loosely. Also used hair clips from kitsch. It's not immaculate or neat, but my hair is cleaned and styled, so I didn't give a 🤬. I was vibing off a forum post about natural hair and NOT having to do 1000 steps to manipulate it.. Just care for your hair and let it be, which I did. And yup, the same blue blazer is here, but I'm wearing a floral dress and sneakers.
The Fab: remember Riri circa Rated R? There's some of that, plus the fun of OutKast 's Andre 3000 and the mismatched eye liner look from a few years ago, only I decided to use shadow. I love how it came out actually.
The Face: Ami Colé Lid Joy Matte Liquid Eyeshadow St. Louis & Ami Colé Lid Joy Matte Liquid Eyeshadow Los Angeles serve as bases here with Danessa Myricks Lightwork III here.
You look amazing in both outfits! So cool! @danielledanielle
Thank you! @sister13
