Let's keep this thread on topic!
Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)
5x Item/Brand Earned - 434
Total Points Earned - 1285
Links are not allowed. In lieu of links, please read this:
Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.
Multiplier | 1 | 1.25 | 1.5 | 2 | 2.25 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.25 | 3.5 | 4 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 5 | 7.25 | 7.5 | 8 | 8.25 | 8.5 | 9 | 9.25 | 9.5 | 10 | 10.25 | 10.5 |

Check your emails, just got this multiplier in mine. Sweet! Anybody else?
Edit: this doesnโt show up in my account under โBonus Offersโ, but Iโm fairly certain itโs active because of the email.
I got this via email as well, and it wasn't on my list before. I clicked the email and got "congrats, you've activated it", but I wasn't signed in, so I signed in and clicked the email link again just in case. Tried an Exuviance item, but didn't get the points. Knowing that multipliers can take a few minutes to kick in, I waited five or so and checked again, and lo and behold, it's working now, and it's on my list.
I had my sister check her account, and she had the multiplier as normal on her list...she didn't have to click through the email first to see it.
I hope "you have to activate it through the email" doesn't become the new normal.
Ooh, my 1st ABH BB. Couldn't resist this one with the brush. I hope all these are made in Korea, minus the brush of course.. Finally used my Tarte coupon code for $10 off $50 ๐
@youvebeenktfod I got the same email. My gut says 4-piece. But snap a screenshot of the email, just in case. Or... donโt. ๐
Received my order with $125 bag and Philosophy GWP. Havenโt looked at the bag yet โ that will take awhile to do a full analysis on, so Iโm brewing some chai. But the Philosophy 8pc has one sub that is rather disappointing... Ultimate Miracle Worker fix is a foil packet instead of the trial size tube. Not cool.
That sucks both gwp had subs in them ๐ @civ2ru Mine didnt have the OPI nail item and was 32 pcs instead of 34. What's the point if they dont have a full size in there? The lipstick was also the orange one instead of the red one.
I returned the 34 pc gwp and my whole order. They used to be really accurate last year. Ulta is slipping again with lost pkgs and inaccurate gwp's. Oh well, saves me money.
$125 had some disappointing subs/downsizes also... Pretty close to the subs that @RGbrown got โ plus one additional trial size (CeraVe) swapped for a foil packet.
So... 1 trial size swapped for 1 packet in one GWP; 5 travel/mini sizes swapped for 1 travel size and 5 foil packets in the other GWP. In addition to Ulta Facial Wipes being a 5-count (not a 25- as stated in the description) and Bb Hairdresserโs Invisible Oil being a 0.34 oz (not a 1 oz). This doesnโt sit so great with me. Weโll see if anything can be done...
Probably nothing.
I'm kind of surprised at how upset people sound honestly. If you paid $125, I get it, but to get that bag for 1/2 the buy-in requirement and then complain (in hopes of them giving you a gift card I imagine) to cs seems wrong to me. I'm sincerely not trying to be mean, but, come on people!
@Christinaco Iโm not upset or complaining. Just sharing information and my experience regarding an Ulta GWP with peer community. Which is what I believe this thread is about.
It did appear that you were complaining, on here and to cs. If i am wrong in my perception, I apologize. Here's the thing about complaining to cs, they are super nice, unless they feel like youre abusing the system, which they will if you complain about bags that you didnt qualify to get. Just be careful about what you write to cs about, they keep track, and will stop being as helpful. I save my complaints for things I paid for, not free extras.

I'd heart this sentence a thousand times if I could. I understand everyone has a different idea of what's "contact CS about it"-worthy, but this is my line in the sand as well. The sad fact is that bags are rarely exactly as advertised, but I get soooo many other perks from Ulta that building a negative CS contact history over freebies isn't really something I'm interested in.
@Christinaco Have I done something to offend you? The tone of your comments seems rather personal. Everyone has their own ideas on what they find disappointing. Or โwrongโ, for that matter. Some people may find the very notion of taking advantage of a website glitch wrong. I am not one of those people. Frankly, I donโt see the point of arguing about this... At the end of the day, we can all agree that Ulta will get its lionโs share of business from everyone on here.
Not at all! My comment was more thinking out loud and not at all directed at you personally, I just don't understand anyone wasting a complaint on something that was free and a cheaper buy-in than it should have been. This girl here loves a glitch, all Im saying is that, it was a really nice bag with a lot of great things and likely none of us on here paid full price for it. Also, when people comment publicly about contacting cs and getting compensated, I think it causes others to do same whereas they probably wouldn't have, which can be bad for everyone overall. Ulta is a great company that regularly rewards us, the glitches are so fun, and I am grateful for all the freebies.
This is the 1st time I was disappointed with a gwp from Ulta, the Bumble and Bumble oil primer was also .34 oz instead of the 1oz, my so called bag was sent separately and the samples (30 not 34) were in a plain plastic bag. I have never gotten a gwp where the bag didnโt have the items in it. My Philosophy BB also was subbed the foil.
