Let's keep this thread on topic!
Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)
5x Item/Brand Earned - 434
Total Points Earned - 1285
Links are not allowed. In lieu of links, please read this:
Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.
Multiplier | 1 | 1.25 | 1.5 | 2 | 2.25 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.25 | 3.5 | 4 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 5 | 7.25 | 7.5 | 8 | 8.25 | 8.5 | 9 | 9.25 | 9.5 | 10 | 10.25 | 10.5 |

I'm kind of surprised at how upset people sound honestly. If you paid $125, I get it, but to get that bag for 1/2 the buy-in requirement and then complain (in hopes of them giving you a gift card I imagine) to cs seems wrong to me. I'm sincerely not trying to be mean, but, come on people!
@Christinaco I’m not upset or complaining. Just sharing information and my experience regarding an Ulta GWP with peer community. Which is what I believe this thread is about.
It did appear that you were complaining, on here and to cs. If i am wrong in my perception, I apologize. Here's the thing about complaining to cs, they are super nice, unless they feel like youre abusing the system, which they will if you complain about bags that you didnt qualify to get. Just be careful about what you write to cs about, they keep track, and will stop being as helpful. I save my complaints for things I paid for, not free extras.

I'd heart this sentence a thousand times if I could. I understand everyone has a different idea of what's "contact CS about it"-worthy, but this is my line in the sand as well. The sad fact is that bags are rarely exactly as advertised, but I get soooo many other perks from Ulta that building a negative CS contact history over freebies isn't really something I'm interested in.
@Christinaco Have I done something to offend you? The tone of your comments seems rather personal. Everyone has their own ideas on what they find disappointing. Or “wrong”, for that matter. Some people may find the very notion of taking advantage of a website glitch wrong. I am not one of those people. Frankly, I don’t see the point of arguing about this... At the end of the day, we can all agree that Ulta will get its lion’s share of business from everyone on here.
Not at all! My comment was more thinking out loud and not at all directed at you personally, I just don't understand anyone wasting a complaint on something that was free and a cheaper buy-in than it should have been. This girl here loves a glitch, all Im saying is that, it was a really nice bag with a lot of great things and likely none of us on here paid full price for it. Also, when people comment publicly about contacting cs and getting compensated, I think it causes others to do same whereas they probably wouldn't have, which can be bad for everyone overall. Ulta is a great company that regularly rewards us, the glitches are so fun, and I am grateful for all the freebies.
This is the 1st time I was disappointed with a gwp from Ulta, the Bumble and Bumble oil primer was also .34 oz instead of the 1oz, my so called bag was sent separately and the samples (30 not 34) were in a plain plastic bag. I have never gotten a gwp where the bag didn’t have the items in it. My Philosophy BB also was subbed the foil.
Glad to hear Ulta made this right for you! I’m expecting my bag on Wednesday. Where did yours ship from? Mine’s coming in from Indiana.
Reached out to Ulta CS, politely explained my feelings about the situation and they made it right. Just one of the reasons I love thee Ulta... ❤️ Even when you skip me on the bonus points offer.
Planning on purchasing the Dyson Airwrap system for fine/flat hair. When should I jump on it? Or has that time already passed? I’m thinking the next major point multiplier.
Looking at the spreadsheet, there were 2 excellent opportunities for Dyson in 2019. In both July and December, a 20% all hair tools q (including Dyson) went out, and both times, the q also coincided with a 5x multiplier. The December one even had a one-day opportunity for stacking multipliers if you had both (5x on hair tools, plus 3x/4x/5x sitewide on a Member Appreciation Friday).
There are of course no guarantees with Ulta, but if you can wait, it may be worth it 🙂
Oh no! The $125 bag went OOS... It was great fun while it lasted. And lasted. And lasted.
Is it just me, or is Ulta really making it rain with GWPs this year? Have there been as plenty same time last year? I wasn’t around this thread then.
This latest stackable $60/$75/$125 deal is ridiculously good! Too bad I don’t *need* anything out of B1G1 or B2G2 items right now...
@civ2ru I don't remember so many brand ones like those that came up yesterday, but I also did not get that email advertising them just came across them in a search. That $125 bag being around so long, especially with a glitchy deal is unusual, making it hard to say no to when there are stacking gwps.
New gwps tonight! Choice of 2 at $60, plus a $75 step up.
And the $125 bag is somehow *still* around

Just got email notification of new GWPs added... Some that were listed were repeats, but I think these are new:
There are some new bonus points offers today as well. I didn't get one 😥 but here are the values I've seen so far (exp 2/22):
350/$50
450/$50
500/$75
Any others?
