Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):

Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.  

Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.

The product id is the number given to the item in the URL.  So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number.  If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta. 

It's not a search, but the direct url to the page. 

Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar.  It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204  Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.

My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:

(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward.  E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward.  Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase.  Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.

@RGbrown Where was this when I was trying to place in order while out of the country a couple of weeks ago?  I put in an email help request and they just told me tough cookies.   FYI: you apparently can't place orders online or via the app when you're in a different country according to the Ulta customer service rep.  I was disappointed they didn't offer me any kind of compensation or allow me to place my order.

I think this is untrue because I'm pretty sure I've been able to place an order when I was on vacation before.

Does anyone have experience with placing orders with ulta either via the app or the web while in another country?

@itscarin @RGbrown I've always gotten that message, I thought it always pops up haha. I usually have a bunch of tabs open (including my cart) because I play around with my orders a lot before I check out. I'll add something to my cart in one tab, then go to close the old cart tab & the message will be there. I always thought it was because I take so long placing orders lol. So if you're ever trying to get that message, maybe try opening a bunch of tabs?

I've heard of people having issues placing orders while in another country. That's disappointing that CS wouldn't let you place your order over the phone at least.

Wow, interesting. I thought I was the queen of tabs, but maybe I don't leave one sitting long enough to trigger it? Haha, I'm all over the place when getting a cart together. I do tend to leave my pages on a product though, not the cart, so perhaps that makes a difference? In any case, it's nice to see that Ulta has live chat now, though you'd think they would have it linked on their "Contact Us" page, but I don't see it 😕

@RGbrown Haha I do like my tabs. My browser is always a mess when I'm placing an order 😄 I think of it as them saying, "Hey you still there? You need help giving us your money?"

Maybe there's like one chat representative & they can't handle the volume, so it's not on the contact page hahaha.

Today's the first day I've seen it (desktop, full site); I only sit at my desk when I know I'm going to order, which I haven't done in at least a day or two lol, so it has to be super new...it popped up after a couple of minutes of futzing around with my cart. 

That's weird that you can't order at all if you're out of the country...I'd think as long as it's a US payment and shipping to a US address, they wouldn't care what country you're currently sitting in or connecting from. 🤔

@RGbrown You would think!  I was super disappointed because it was during the 10x points on palette period, and I wanted to buy a palette.  I did all my math and by my calculations the palette was going to be about 40% off!  So disappointed I couldn't grab one.  I tried paying with paypal, my regular credit card, and a gift card, and nothing was budging.  I thought customer service would hook me up and offer to let me make the purchase and give me 10x the points since it was clear i had tried to make the purchase during the allotted time period but nope.  They did nothing for me!

@itscarin, that’s totally weird. I have been able to order things off the ulta website and have it shipped to my home in California, at least four times. Three times while I was in Germany and once when I was in Spain. That’s so messed up that it wasn’t working for you 😞

Whaaat?? I need that! Ulta is refusing to refund my points for out of stock items and their customer service is being so rude it is actually funny. Im waiting for my points to use my coupons 😕

I couldn't resist it, even though I don't like BadGal bang at all. Although I did hear someone say to switch out the wand on they're real. I might try it since I do love they're real!
