Let's keep this thread on topic!

Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):

Spoiler

Item #1 - $53.50

Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)

* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x

Total Spent - $162

Base Points Earned - 162

Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)

5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)

5x Item/Brand Earned - 434

Total Points Earned - 1285

Spoiler

Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.

Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.

The product id is the number given to the item in the URL.  So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number.  If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.

It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.

Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar.  It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204  Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.

My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:

(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward.  E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward.  Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase.  Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.

Re: Ulta GWPs

So I was perusing the 5x "select liters" brands (not sure I recall anyone actually listing them out, so I'll add them here: devacurl, alterna, living proof, kenra) when I stumbled on another platinum perk for the dayScreenshot_20180101-005840.png

Nice deal on a rarely discounted item!

Re: Ulta GWPs

I missed this during the last hair event so I may need to pick it up! I went through some of the popular brands and found another perk: it cosmetics bye bye lines serum. This would be nice to pick up with the free perricone md cream with $50 skincare 🙈🙈IMG_2970.PNG

Re: Ulta GWPs

I can't get anything to work with the Perricone other than more perricone lol so annoyed

edit:  apparently moisturizer doesn't count as skin care. go figure. But it does work alone with the IT cosmetics serum!

Re: Ulta GWPs

Anyone out there have any thoughts on this? TBH I've never used the brand, but have heard wonderful things.

Re: Ulta GWPs

Happy New Year Ladies!!

Found this on TRENDMOOD instagram page.

Guess we need to spend $1k to hit this new level?

Re: Ulta GWPs

@Sodayui

Yup, that's been a hot topic here for a few days now. Spoilers say $1000, we're just waiting on the official Ulta info to post (should have an hour ago, sigh, lol)

Re: Ulta GWPs

You know it's pretty sad when Ulta employees are posting on IG that even they don't know anything about the Diamond program. I read a few posts and whoever runs Ulta's IG acct just says "check back soon we can't give you a specific date/time." That's annoying AF.It's printed on one of your mailers, and one would make the logical assumption that it would roll on out Jan 1 since your programs run on a calendar year. I guess I'll check back in a few hours to see if they've finally reveled this new tier. They need to get their act together and put it out there - some of us want to place an order today before the points multiplier ends for overall purchase/shampoo liters.

Re: Ulta GWPs

@RGbrown

I hope they would count why we spend 2017 towards this... I think I spend over $2k at ulta in 2017 (have no idea how................).

Re: Ulta GWPs

@Sodayui

It's amazing how quickly it adds up, ain't it? I'm not gonna tally mine...I'd rather be in the dark 😅

Re: Ulta GWPs

@RGbrown

lol.

I was thinking I'm on a "low-buy"...........

Re: Ulta GWPs

Looks like today's going to be a Platinum Perk day! I also got a new multiplier for Amazing Grace Crush fragrances IMG_2969.PNG

Re: Ulta GWPs

I was just coming to post this too!

Several brand-specific Platinum gwp's, early access for several Real Techniques brushes, a new brand (Flower Beauty) and early access to their Flower Pot blush, early access to Lipstick Queen's new Dating Game lipstick...

Lots of goodies to ring in the new year!

🎆🎇🎉

Happy new year everyone!

Re: Ulta GWPs

Flower beauty is owned by Drew Barrymore. I understand her blushes and lipsticks (which unfortunately aren't up yet) are fabulous! Going to pick up sweet pea, but am waiting to place my order for a couple of hours to make sure the new diamond level is in place so I can at least try to get to that level. It's going to be a great points day - 5x points on liters 5x points all purchases and 2x on everything cause it's my birthday month :).

Re: Ulta GWPs

I picked up that Sweet Pea Blush at Walmart. It is still available there for $8.98. I have collected makeup this year but not worn any, so I have no review. Looks really pretty. My only advice is price check Flower Beauty items with Walmart before making a purchase (unless there is a special offer that comes with that Platinum Perk later). Happy early birthday.

I am refreshing like crazy hoping it will switch from Platinum to Diamond. It still says I am Platinum until 2019. Sephora made people who spent over $1000 Rouge when the program launched, but I am not sure Ulta will. When they launched UltaMate Rewards officially in 2014 (soft launch for select cities in 2013), they did not care that I had spent over $400 (the Platinum requirement back then) in 2013. My fingers are crossed, because I spent almost $1000 at Ulta just this month (plus what I spent the rest of the year) and do not want to wait until I spend another $1000 to hit Diamond (as I was planning on severely slowing down). Come on, Ulta. Do the right thing.

Re: Ulta GWPs

@notcreative

I think I'd rather pay Ulta 9.99 than go to Walmart and save a buck 😋

And yessss, I definitely hope the over-1k-spent folks get instant Diamond...that would make sense.

On a different note, I'm happy to see you back here in the Ulta thread! ☺️

Re: Ulta GWPs

My "husband" always refuses to enter Walmart, so I mostly do my Walmart shopping online. They have free two-day shipping with a $35 purchase, and I usually pick up a cheap beauty product with household essentials. It was a great way to collect drugstore pieces without spending too much. Ulta has(d) that $50 shipping minimum and only sells beauty products.

I figured people were probably refreshing with me to see what's going on and decided to come chat while we wait.

Re: Ulta GWPs

@notcreative

I stopped shopping at WM, gosh, I can't even remember how long now...7-8 years ago? Maybe even more. I can't say I've never set foot in one since then, but it has to be an emergency/no where else is open/someone will die if I don't go scenario lol. Household stuff I'm still either well stocked on (I used to be a heavy drugstore couponer and stocked years worth of most of my basics) or else I find an alternate source. I haven't couponed to any big degree in 3-4 years now, but I'm starting to dabble in CVS a tiny bit here and there mostly because I still have several gc's from my couponing days that I can use instead of putting more cash OOP.

Re: Ulta GWPs

My "husband" has not been inside one for many years either, so I understand how you feel. He loathes Walmart. I am fine with Walmart, but I do prefer Target for in-person shopping. My boys and I went to Target yesterday and were surprised to see after Christmas stuff still available. My Vegas folk would have emptied that out by then. We're not in Kansas anymore. For online shopping, Walmart is faster with shipping and cheaper. That said, I still probably placed more Target orders this year.

Other than groceries, I do the vast majority of my shopping online. I rarely even shop in person at Ulta or Sephora. If I am in the neighborhood, I sometimes enter to swatch things. Find what I like. Look into deals and purchase online with cash back. My local Target sells a lot things for a lot more than they go for online, so it does not make sense to pick them up in person.

Re: Ulta GWPs

@notcreative thanks for the birthday wishes! My account currently states that I'm $450 away from Platinum in 2019, but nothing about Diamond (would have been really nice if they take some of our spending in 2017 over, but I think I'm wishing thinking here). I'm going to wait until later in the morning and then place an order. The $3.50 coupon will work with the Flower Beauty brand just FYI :).

It says my status, Platinum. I keep hitting refresh in the My rewards screen to see if it updates to diamond. Yes, Flower is drugstore, so it will work if you are spending over $15. In that case, it would be cheaper to go through Ulta.

Re: Ulta GWPs

Yup same set up as mine. Hopefully diamond level will load soon, or more detailed information at least.
