Monthly Favorites: August 2024 Edition!

I hope you’ve had an amazing August, BIC. ✌🌞 As someone who thrives in colder weather, I tend to fall into laziness old habits when the weather is warm; I haven’t been too adventurous with my routines lately – but not saying that’s a bad thing! August had me reaching for tried-and-true products: ones that I knew wouldn’t fail me on a long summer day whether I was bopping around my neighborhood or jumping up and down at a music festival. 🎵

August favorites🩷

 The DIOR Forever Skin Perfect 24H Multi-Use Foundation Stick  is my new favorite foundation. The coverage is perfect and the wear time is great. Drunk Elephant Bora Barrier Rich Repair Cream with 6-Butterlipid Complex has been so good since my skin has been drier than normal. The Neostrata neck cream is very thick and I feel like it is actually making a difference.

My favorite products in August were definitely the JVN Nurture Intense Hydration Hair Mask 8 oz / 236 mL because I went to the beach and swam a lot and this helped save my dry, dehydrated hair. I also really liked the Glow Recipe Avocado Ceramide Moisture Barrier Cleanser 5 oz / 150 mL because it helped hydrate my skin while removing sweat and bacteria.

Ahhh, that JVN hair mask is a good one @CatsLoveCake! 😍 I have a sample of that Glow Recipe cleanser and am even more interested in giving it a try after reading your feedback on it!

Just a few favs this month: 

tarte maracuja juicy lip plump shift CEO is such a fun shade of baby pink!  I hadn't tried the Juicy Shift formula before but I may need a backup of this one.

Kérastase Elixir Ultime Refillable Hydrating Hair Oil is my favorite hair oil and thanks to @TeamBIC I have enough to last me awhile!

My favorite discovery of the month is the WetBrush Paddle Pro.  Why have I not ever purchased a WetBrush before?!  Oh my gosh, this has been saving my hair this month.  My hair is getting longer and therefore more easily tangled but this not only easily combs through my tangles but I'm no longer losing massive amounts of hair in my brush from tugging.  

I've been wanting to try polishes from Lurid Lacquer for a minute now--they're a fairly new brand that just started up in January--so I ordered four polishes to try and I'm not disappointed.  I love them all and I'm excited to purchase more from them.

Wet Brushes feel so good @CookieGirl1 and yes, no tugging! That's so important. Great find this month!

@CynthieLu Lurid has been on my "to try" list for months and I've now worn three of the four polishes that I picked up.  I like them all so far!  Nice formula that builds well on itself, good paddle brush, and they wear well.

@CookieGirl1 I have had that wet brush for ages, and it has been a lifesaver. Yours is so much cuter than mine; that is my favorite color!

@Mel231 I got it at Ulta!  I like it because unlike most of the Wet Brushes, this one actually has a little bit of a rubber/grippy handle.  I hate the feeling of just the hard plastic handles that most of them have so I really appreciate the design of this one.

Ughhh you don't know how much you are gonna miss something til it's gone. Lookin at you.. Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo  I really hope they bring in some LE scents again for the holidays but make them permanent. Oribe Shampoo for Magnificent Volume 8.5 oz/ 250 mL & Oribe Conditioner for Magnificent Volume 6.8 oz/ 200 mL  Don't worry I have them now. 😋 

And some new loves..

Oribe Gold Lust Transformative Hair Mask 5 oz/ 150 mL  my go to. I have tried a few masks  to "fix" my hair & this did just that.
