Has anyone out there tried the Top Box Subscription? โจ๏ธ๐ฆโจ๏ธ
I did and was on the fence about it. I got my first Box and I think I'm going to keep going with it, until next month at least.
Details:
Canadian Sub box for 15$ that gives you 4 trial sized of random products.
Pro: Affordable
Con: Who knows what you'll get ๐ค and tiny products.
My first Box ๐
(Wearing Laritzy in Dusty Rose)
The Clairns oil is more sample than trial size so menh ๐ด but I'm okay with the mini mascara, I use it everyday so it'll serve me well lol
So my break down is just in that spoiler above. ๐
Final thoughts? ๐ฆ
SO, for now, I'm going on for another month. I'm excited to see where this goes.
If you've had this sub box I'd love to hear about it! What did you think, what did you get? And are you still in?
@JoSometimes I actually have a large canvas bag full of sets of product lines. I save them by brand, and that way I can try out a product line all at once without needing to make expensive investments in their stuff without knowing if I like it or not. I did purge some items recently, just some foils and such that I knew I'd never use, but there's still a whole lot left! Including Clarins. LOL
Thatโs smart @Westcoasty! I tend to try things out by need. I donโt quite have that large of a collection to go by brand.
@JoSometimes It's accumulated over several years. Some of the samples probably need to be thrown out by now! But I do tend to try for rewards and samples of products where I'm collecting the brand.
Congratulations on getting your box! ๐ ๐ @Westcoasty I hope you enjoy everything.
Clairns makes really good products, I've got to test out a good few items now. Lol, I feel like they are possibly supporters of this sub box ๐
I'm a big sun screen everyday kinda person, if I'm not diligent I skip the retinols too. I don't want to waste my efforts. And for weeks after you stop using as well, that's a big sunscreen commitment. ๐ค
(I just tried a tiny bit of the HA serum on my damp face after I washed it tonight, oh its really nice! )
@CynthieLu Yes, I'm kind of getting the impression that Clarins sends a lot of business their way myself. LOL
I'm looking forward to trying the Clarins in due course, but I've taken a page from your book and am rotating my product lines to see what my skin likes. The Grown Alchemist rewards bazaar box I got unfortunately wasn't a winner, but I'll keep going!
My August Box ๐ฆ ๐ป
Coincidence, I also was going to purchase a brow wax but held off because I've never found one I liked. My brow story is, they are sparse from over plucking in my youth but each hair is thick, and it's a wierd combo let me tell you ๐
I got a serum by Innisfree innisfree Green Tea Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum 2.7 oz / 80 mL
From Clarins ( this brand is in every box so far) Clarins Multi-Active Anti-Aging Day Moisturizer for Glowing Skin 1.6 oz/ 47 mL
And 2 items by Benefit
Benefit Cosmetics Fluff Up Brow Flexible Brow-Texturizing Wax Clear
Benefit Cosmetics Mini Precisely, My Brow Pencil Waterproof Eyebrow Definer Shade 3 ( a full size item, that is a rare Unicorn, hurray!)
I'm very happy with what I have this time, a break from lippies and mini mascaras was really nice. I'll use the day cream and HA serum, they both will fit into my routine nice and easy. HA goes so easily into a routine and subbing out my day cream for a few days with this will be so simple.
Clairns is good quality and a nice brand and Innisfree is like a kbeauty legend, soo yeahy ๐
My verdict is, I'm super happy and going in for another month ๐
Lucky you @CynthieLu! A full-sized brow pencil! Hopefully itโs the right shade for you and they work well together with the wax.
Now that @CynthieLu and @Westcoasty have their boxes, we can all post our thoughts on this monthโs box!
Itโs all trial sizes this time but they all seem like good ones.
Benefit Cosmetics Fluff Up Brow Flexible Brow-Texturizing Wax Clear
innisfree Green Tea Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum 2.7 oz / 80 mL
Clarins Multi-Active Anti-Aging Day Moisturizer for Glowing Skin 1.6 oz/ 47 mL
Jouviance 3D Retinol+
Iโm happy to see the brow wax in there. Lately, Iโve just being using a pencil to do my brows. I have elfโs Wow Brow gel to tame the hairs a little, but it always makes my brows look super dark. I was going to replace it with something clear or translucent but now I donโt have to! I used it once already and I liked it.
Iโm surprised to see some k-beauty in here with the innisfree serum. They always seem to do a good job with their R&D to ensure itโs friendly for sensitive skin and my skin generally enjoys Hyaluronic acid products.
Clarinsโ cream is the one Iโm mildly apprehensive about trying. The packaging said for normal to oily skin but online, it says formulated for all skin types. At least itโs trial size, so itโs not the end of the world if I find itโs not doing much for me.
I almost bought a retinol a few days ago but decided to wait. Iโm glad to see Jouvianceโs the box. Itโll save me from having to get another for a little while. It says formulated for sensitive skin, so Iโm excited to give it a try. The price for a full size is up there though, so hopefully I donโt fall in love with it too much!
@JoSometimesI got the same box as you. I'm a little doubtful about trying the Jouviance, for the simple reason that I'm terrible about wearing sunscreen. But the brow wax and the Innisfree serum are both things I want to try, and the Clarins will get tried out once I put my little bag of Clarins trial sizes into rotation. I hope you enjoy your goodies!
Twinsies @Westcoasty! I used to be bad about sunscreen too. It eventually became habit once I found something I enjoyed using.
@JoSometimes That totally makes sense. I found the Supergoop! sunscreen better than the cheap drugstore stuff I was used to, that's for sure. I think I'm still dialing in my skincare routine, truth to tell. My skin seems to be more sensitive than it used to be, breaking out in temporary rashes if I use the wrong thing. Sunscreen just seems like one more product that might break me out.
Iโm the same @Westcoasty. The wrong product can make me want to claw my skin right off. It took me a while to fine tune my routine though Iโm fairly happy with where itโs at right now.
Ironically, Clarins Dry Touch Facial Sunscreen SPF 50 is formulated with sensitive skin in mind if youโre still hunting for one you like.
OMG @JoSometimes that's hilariously apropos! I'll have to check it out.
@Westcoasty Maybe itโll show up in a box one of these days. ๐คฃ
Awesome box! @JoSometimes It's funny because you said you were about to buy a new brow wax but held off. I think that's a happy coincidence ๐I hope this one performs better for you! Have you tried it yet?
Is this going to be your first retinol ever? There are some cautions to consider before diving in, but maybe you've heard it all before ๐ค
I didn't think it world be the case but my box is slightly different, I didn't get the retinol and the subbed it with something else ๐ฆ ooh I didn't know that we could all get different things possibly
@CynthieLu I was actually about to buy a retinol product the other day. The jouviance is my third different retinol product. I started with Indeed Labs Retinol Reface, then COSRX The Retinol 0.1 serum. COSRX has been my fave so far and my skin tolerates it really well. The Jouviance one says formulated for sensitive skin, so I have high hopes for it. The price tag is quite highโฆ
The search for a brow product was something Iโve been contemplating but is a pretty low priority.
@CynthieLu @JoSometimes I got my box today! I took a photo, but won't post till @CynthieLu has her box as well. I will say that I'm pleased, as at least two of the products are ones that I've been considering buying for myself.
Post away loves, I got mine today! ๐๐ฅณ
@Westcoasty @JoSometimes I'm so happy with it!
Hooray! Glad you're happy with your items! Photo of mine coming up in the next few minutes. ๐
Itโs like a countdown @Westcoasty! ๐
@JoSometimesI know, right? I didn't renew for next month, only because I haven't been working and need to tighten my belt a little. But I definitely want to sign up again once my cash flow is a bit less straitened.
