My Soleil d'Hiver arrived today. Can't even blame Sephora's packaging this time, this was ordered from Nordstrom....which is sold out online and Nordstrom live chat said they are not replenishing. At least I got a sample tube of Le Mepris lipstick in the box, which does not appear to be damaged.

Oh no! I'm sorry @fiercestpoodle.  It happened to me one time when i ordered TF Soleil palette from NM.  I liked "i pay more than $150 for the darn thing and you dont even have the decency to wrap it carefully".  Basically it arrived in a thin envelope (not sure which genius did the packaging).  Needless to say, the eyeshadows, the blusher, and the highligher all smashed into powders. 😞 I even had to clean the floor just by opening the darn thing.  And yup that palette was sold out too.

@fiercestpoodle, I completely understand not having a happy moment when opening received items. I ordered the Charlotte Tilbury Stars in your eyes last year from either Nordstrom or NM and it arrived in a padded envelope and my first thoughts were oh crap this is going to be a mess, but luckily it was intact!

@blackkitty2014  It is so frustrating. I don't get excited for packages anymore. I open them all with dread, which takes away so much of the experience for me.  Alas, my geographic area likely will never rate upscale shopping, so unless I'm willing to drive an hour away, I'm stuck with mail order.

Sorry to hear about your experience with a LE item.

The Nordstrom chat rep did give me a few stores to call that still have the quad in stock, so supposedly an intact quad is on its way to me. During the phone call to a physical store, I asked the salesperson to open it, check it for damage and flip it upside down. He said he'd package this one well and to call him if there are any problems with it once received. Sigh. 

I did ask him about the Badass quad while we were talking, and he hadn't heard of it. Hopefully he's just out of the loop and it's going to drop soon!

@fiercestpoodle that's really sad to see but I'm amazed it arrived only out of the pan and not smashed to smithereens. They must be baking the wet dry formula really hard nowadays 😄

As for Badas$, I heard this week the Japan launch date got pushed to 11/15. As far as I've heard they're the first market that will be launching the quad so we probably won't see it here until after that. I've asked all my SA at various stores here and none of them have even heard that it exists yet.

@Mochapj Thanks for letting me know about the Badass quad. I have a $100 Sephora reward that expires at the end of December, so with any luck that quad will show up before then.

As for Soleil d'Hiver - something didn't look quite right with it when I opened it up - there was a flake of eyeshadow on top of the protective plastic insert. I couldn't understand how it got there, so I tilted the palette and the shadow popped right out into my hand.
