Stephani, I don't think it's so much a question of if you can pull it off, rather what sort of look you are going for?

I find Stavros quite attractive on many skintones, but it skims the line of dead girl greige, IMO, which some people aren't into.

I've looked up swatches and it looks really gorgeous. I'm fair so I'm unsure about it. 

I did find one for a great price though.

Does anyone have both So Vain & Derek, and can swatch them next to each other? I have Derek & want So Vain - in Temptalia's swatches, So Vain looks lighter and more purple than Derek. However, I read another user's post farther down in this thread where she describes Derek as the L&B version of So Vain. I don't want to get So Vain if it's that similar to Derek. Thanks!

@bettylouwho So Vain is the larger/thicker swatch. I took this picture in November, when I got Derek. They're teally really close, as you can see. I don't think they're exactly alike in person, if memory serves me but very very close lol.

Durr, that makes total sense - So Vain is the full-size. They do look way more similar here than on Temptalia.

According to the google, Beauty Look Book compares So Vain more to Guillermo (on the right). but I'm not seeing any Derek swatches from her, so tough to say for sure.

i don't find them the same at all, but my colouring is very different than Libellules.

Here you go.  On me Derek pulls very bronze.  The closest match I have is actually Casablanca, but it has no gold sparkles.

Would you say So Vain is less opaque than Casablanca @Mochapj? Or maybe it's just the shimmer?

@etscore1, I would say both, actually.

I had to swipe SV 3x to get it to that intensity, but all the others are 1x.  But it does also have shimmer (I think my specific bullet has more than most) and that may be reflecting a lot of light.

Casablanca is legit more opaque, IMO.

This was taken in natural, indirect light.

Hmmmm. I have a swatch somewhere actually. I don't think they're the same, but I remember that they were supposedly similar minus the finish. Didn't someone on specktranet say that?

Does anyone know if Black Orchid lipstick will be re-released? I missed it the first time around but considering what a popular shade it turned out to be I was disappointed that it was discontinued. I was able to pre-order it last year when it was up on Neiman's website when it looked like it was going to get a re-release then but it never came to fruition and my order was cancelled. I was thinking that if Black Orchid lippie was ever going to become available again the upcoming launch based on Black Orchid would be the perfect time to do so. One can hope! 😉
