Ahhhh I just found out my local SA won't let me pre-order unless I go to an event first! The event on on my step-son's birthday so I can't go. I can't believe I might miss out on these. I hate to have to go back to my old SA but I might have to if she will take my pre-order...

Weird :S The Nordstrom in Vancouver is taking pre-orders now (five shades are already sold out). If you need a SA, just PM me and I will send you her contact info. She can definitely add you to the list.

I'm hoping you ladies can give me some advice on ordering the upcoming L&Bs.  I bought my first TF lipstick this summer so I don't know what to expect during the release.  I do not have a TF counter near me, so I order my lipsticks online. Do you think I'll be ok waiting for the release and ordering online? Or should I try to pre-order through a SA?  If the SA route is best, can someone recommend a SA (located in US)?  TIA!

Just to add to the good points made below, in terms of priority, I reckon the 25 new boys will get more attention and will likely sell out faster than the re-releases. I recommend making your list prior to Black Friday. Take your time looking at the swatches from the blogs and this thread. Unless you are super sure you will like the colors, I recommend buying from retailers with good return policies like Nordstrom rather than the TF site. I don't have a TF counter near me and did not pre-order, bought everything online and still ended up with the colors I liked. If the L&B sale will follow last year, the release will be in waves. In the US, the trend was NM/Bergdorf and Saks first, then Nordstrom and smaller retailers like Violet Grey, followed by Bloomingdales.

If it is like last year quite a few lipstick shades will sell out on the first day. They will restock I think mid Dec but again they won't last long. I think it is wise that you are putting together a game plan.

Last year I ordered online from Tom Ford directly Thanksgiving morning. I had no issues. Shipping was fast, packaging was nice (had special tissue paper etc.) If you are willing to get up early that morning you will be fine. Tom Ford doesn't do pre-sale (that I know of) so all shades should be available directly that morning.

There are advantages to purchases from Nordstroms, SAKS, etc.

• want to be able to use their Nordstrom card, or SAKS card to get points for the purchases
• prefer the shipping company from one or the other
• don't want to have to worry about missing out online and pre-sale guarantees you get them
• also some people just want to support their local SA

I think there will probably be plenty of ladies on here that will be able to point you to a good SA. If that is the course you want to take.

Thanks for the feedback on buying directly from TF.  Are they usually released at midnight or is it a random time?
