Harlem Candle Company: Okay, NOW I’ll stop buying so many candles this year. 😄Last month I attended the brand’s live shopping event where founder Teri Johnson announced their 2 newest candles (Nina and The Wiz) and talked about their Josephine Eau de Parfum being a surprise finalist in The Fragrance Foundation’s 2024 Perfume Extraordinaire category. Josephine’s award competitors include Guerlain Tobacco Honey EdP and fragrances by Tom Ford, Maison du Roc, and a couple others I’m forgetting right now. Winners will be announced this summer at the formal awards event. During the live event, I bought The Wiz candle and a Speakeasy candle + reed diffuser bundle. (Of all the HCC candles I bought in my previous order, Speakeasy wound up being my favorite.) GWP was a sample of the new Duke EdP. There were giveaways during the event and a few post-event prize draws. I won one of the draws! @elyzn I have 2a hair, and my favorite airdry product is Bumble and bumble Don't Blow It Fine Hair Air Dry Styler 5 oz/ 150 mL . I sometimes use it alone, or with a leave-in conditioner and/or oil if I am concerned about frizz or dryness. I layer them in this order: leave-in, oil, cream (LOC method). My favorite leave-conditioners are Briogeo Rosarco Milk™ Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray Mini 1.75 oz and Bumble and bumble Save the Day Daytime Protective Repair Fluid 3.2 oz/ 95 mL . My favorite oils are Verb Ghost Weightless Hair Oil , Moroccanoil Moroccanoil Treatment Light Hair Oil , and Kérastase Blond Absolu Strengthening Hair Oil for Very Damaged Blonde Hair 3.4 oz/ 100 mL . You might also try Bumble and bumble Mini Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Frizz Reducing Hair Oil 0.85 oz/ 25 mL , but it is a little heavier.

Thank you so much! Sorry that my user changed. I accidentally logged out and forgot my password😬😬😬. Luckily I didn’t have many points on my old account. I’m still not sure what you mean about the triangle box with the exclamation point. This is what it looks like for me. Where is it supposed to show up? Also are you okay being like my beauty mentor or whatever? One more thing, what are some of your favorite brands?  

@civ2ru Okay, this one makes me legit angry. $100 buy-in for 6 sample vials and 1 “mini” (so like, 2 sample vials worth)? Someone in Ulta’s marketing department needs a CT scan, because no one with a healthy brain would think this sampler will give Ulta shoppers that “oooh, lemme go build a hundred dollar cart now” push. For the last few years, I’ve intentionally passed on a lot of Ulta’s GWP bags even when I happened to have met the thresholds. There’s just too much stuff in those bags I can’t/won’t use and can’t rehome fast enough; plus the thresholds have been silly, so I’ve skipped some GWP out of spiteful protest. But this one takes the cake. Some folks complain about Sephora’s favorites sets of fragrance samples, but at least those come with a voucher for a full size fragrance so you’re not really out much $ if the set contains a fragrance you know you like. It certainly works out to be a lower buy-in than this $100 Ulta one. 🤦‍♀️

Lipstick 274: Laura Mercier High Vibe Lip Color shade Pop. Clockwise from top left: natural daylight (with a little warm lighting off to one side), public transit fluorescent lighting, and warm street lamp (outdoors) at dusk.I’m a sucker for fuchsias with a blue or violet flip. One of my favorite lipstick shades ever is Urban Decay Vice (bullet) Firebird, the 3rd lipstick I wore for this challenge. When UD reformulated their Vice bullets, Firebird wasn’t carried over to the new shade lineup and I was crushed. Then I tried the new Vice formulation and was doubly crushed because I don’t like it; even if UD ever brings Firebird back, I won’t buy it in that formula. (And no, UD Jilted is not a dupe. I’ve done lip swatch comparisons to prove it. 😅) Also, Firebird is one of my chronic bleeders: that bullet feathers and bleeds like nobody’s business. Still, I’m holding on to my old bullet until I’ve used it up. Last year, Laura Mercier introduced their High Vibe Lip Color line of slim bullet lipsticks. Shade Pop is an EXACT dupe (color wise) of Firebird! In a super comfy formula! That doesn’t bleed/feather at all! And it’s long wearing with a very graceful weardown and beautiful stain! I was super happy when I found this shade. 💜 I really should ditch Firebird since I have a perfect replacement but, well, nostalgia. I think one day I’ll finally get fed up with the bleedproofing required to wear Firebird, and then I’ll declutter it. Meanwhile, I hope LM doesn’t discontinue the High Vibe lipsticks or shade Pop.
