Dying your hair for the first time I would use something that does not have ammonia at all something that is one or two shades darker than your hair color first and see if you like it keep it on just as long as the box says so Vaseline around the hairline ears and neck would be a good idea put down towels if you're using a straight pigment it will stain everything manic panic is certainly one of them if you are using or are thinking of using bleach go to a professional it does not end wellI would suggest a deep conditioner no heat for the first week cool water and hope it turns out great
