Let's keep this thread on topic!
Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)
5x Item/Brand Earned - 434
Total Points Earned - 1285
Links are not allowed. In lieu of links, please read this:
Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.
Multiplier | 1 | 1.25 | 1.5 | 2 | 2.25 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.25 | 3.5 | 4 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 5 | 7.25 | 7.5 | 8 | 8.25 | 8.5 | 9 | 9.25 | 9.5 | 10 | 10.25 | 10.5 |

A couple small gwps today; both add to cart automatically. The $75 bags are still around as well, and the $60 bag came back too, so there are some stacking possibilities
And a new App Exclusive deal, today only this time
Hi all!! Is anyone else having trouble w/the app & the site? Can’t see my cart or add anything to it. Called them & they just said to wait it out 🙄
Ugh, yeeeees. Ordering is down. I found out when I tried placing an order through the app using 2k points. Got an error msg and order didn't go through but it subtracted my points. I called cs and was told I'd get the points back within 3-5 business days and to try ordering on the website instead. I did and got an error msg again, order didn't go through again and it subtracted another 2k points AGAIN. They gave me a $15 gift card for the inconvenience while I wait for those 4k points to be credited back to my account.
The Dash to Beauty code has been released, 199258 for half off Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion 1" Flat Iron
@RGbrown Looks like GWPs no longer glitch with Dash To Beauty. Once you enter coupon code, it changes the price of the item in cart and GWPs change from free to their threshold price. Okay Ulta, I see what your new website redesign is reeeeally all about… 😏
New gwp, choice of two at $75
The first one is marked oos, but that can't be right...surely it didn't sell out in 30 minutes? Maybe it did, or maybe they'll fix it...
This just came up on my Instagram feed.
Target shoppers: check your email and/or Circle offers for 15% off $40 select Ulta beauty brands. (Email will be from Target, not Ulta.)
This might be a targeted “just for you” offer, so I can’t guarantee everyone will get it. If you do, and you have a RedCard, remember you’ll also get the RedCard 5% discount if you use it on this purchase. 🙂
@WinglessOne I'd like a Red Card and Ulta card because of the points but my husband is CPA and has discouraged me!
@greeneyedgirl107 @Loretta55 Heh, it’s probably good to have a financial expert stop you from opening various cards. 🙂 Cash/rewards-back cards are very tempting but can end up not being worth having—for reasons even beyond the interest rates. I use my RedCard enough at and outside of Target (it’s a Mastercard) to make it worth keeping.
But I refuse to open an Ulta card mostly because I don’t trust Ulta’s ability to keep the card-to-account experience glitch-free, considering how buggy Ulta’s systems seem to be. Plus, it’s a Comenity Bank card; I am not a fan of that bank.
@WinglessOne all good points!
The answer I got when I broached the subject was, "well, you're asking for a line of credit..."
New gwp, item 2616000
I can't sign in to check multipliers, but they're pretty rare on a Wednesday. Hopefully they'll get the site and app fixed soon 🙄
New Dash To Beauty, Ulta dot com/flex
Does anybody have experience with the Benefit brow bar and specifically their lamination services? I’ve never had it done before and was thinking of trying it.
I'm really curious about this too. It would be nice to not have to worry about whether my brows are doing something crazy.
I'm mildly terrified of what changes are in store, considering how much I dislike the recent spate of "upgrades" and have little faith that this will be any better...in any case, I've been checking for nearly 45 minutes now to see if there's anything new to report tonight, but no dice tonight
@RGbrown Looks like they’ve updated My Account to match the rest of the site redesign. As I expect from an Ulta site design launch, things are randomly misaligned and “gotta clean that up” goofy here and there.
Purchase history’s still being transferred. They might wanna make that alert a bit more noticeable—put it in red font or something—because I totally missed it when I first started ranting about only having a month of order history available.
But I see they’ve made the Favorites list sortable, and removing items from it is a much more pleasant experience (though with an added confirmation step). Thank flippin’ goodness because the old Favorites list made my inner UX designer rage each time I dealt with it. This is a huge improvement.
And now that I’ve used the rest of the site for however many months, the sliding menus don’t bother me at all. Eh, I know to expect them now, and they don’t decrease usability for me. I’m still super happy with the new Shop filters, since they consistently function better in each browser I’ve tried than the old site design’s obnoxious box-scroll filters. There are a couple design-related things that still kinda annoy me, but they’re not dealbreakers. Certainly not enough to make me start shopping via app instead of website. When it comes to browsing and shopping, I’ll always prefer a web experience over an app experience. For me, retailer apps are useful for finding and activating promos/deals/coupons, managing credit cards, using a digital wallet in-store, and showing a bar code for BOPIS orders. I still don’t like to shop via Ulta’s app. I realize I’m in the minority there, though.
thank god for them finally updating that favorites list! that was much needed!
@WinglessOne they made the Favorites list better?! Just when I finally took the time to update mine with all the hassle!
