Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.  

Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.

The product id is the number given to the item in the URL.  So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number.  If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta. 

It's not a search, but the direct url to the page. 

Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar.  It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204  Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.

My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:

(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward.  E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward.  Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase.  Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.

How about some gwp pics? 😁

First up, the most recent Surprise Sampler. A handful of foils as expected, but considering I've had some that only had 3-4, I was pleased to see 9 in this one, and it's a pretty nice mix!

The 15pc Credit Card set was dang near perfect; ELF was the only variation (got the Putty primer instead of the Power Grip primer)

Hair Sampler #1 from Friday was more of a mixed bag though... I got the correct number of items, but there were several substitutions, some sensible, some not so much.

🔹Better Not Younger No Remorse spray was listed as full size (which is 6oz) but pictured as the 2oz travel...got the travel size, a bit unsurprisingly.

🔹Matrix Food for Soft shampoo mini was subbed with Redken All Soft shampoo mini

🔹Lolavie Glossing Detangler mini was subbed with OUAI Curl Creme mini

🔹Ouidad Featherlight Curl Cream full size was subbed with yet another OUAI Curl Creme mini

I would love to get Lolavie samples, so it's disappointing that one was substituted for you. But I also heard that one of the products got pulled from stores pretty quick for being moldy, so maybe you dodged a bullet.

I saw that about the Lolavie too, and IIRC it was this very product, so I wasn't upset it wasn't in my bag at all. Likely wouldn't have tried it, even if it had been there and looked fine. Gross 🤢

@RGbrown Glad you got your order! I picked hair GWP #2 and it was exactly as advertised. I also got the makeup GWP, which was mostly as advertised with only 1 minor substitution (IT CC+ Nude glow packet in one shade instead of the regular CC+ sample card) plus 2 extra Clinique foundation sample cards. As for the credit card GWP, mine was missing the Living Proof instant de-frizzer dry finishing spray (so it was 14-piece), which I was kinda looking forward to trying – but considering I didn’t even pay for my order with an Ulta credit card, I’m not complaining! 😁

Ulta is such a mixed bag sometimes, the thrill of the order is often overshadowed by the disappointment of what actually shows up when gwps are short or orders packed incorrectly, but this definitely wasn't my worst experience, so I guess I'll keep on keepin' on with them 😅

@RGbrown that would be amazing!  Of course,  I'm concerned that it wouldn't be in-store at my local Ulta.  Just like Dior and Chanel aren't.  Those brands are considered more luxe, so maybe I have a chance with PMG. It's just frustrating for Ulta to have things online (which I like because of rewards) but not in brick and mortar stores to swatch.   I swear the next time I go into Ulta and see that ginormous Benefit area that I have no use for I'm going to lose it.

Does your store have ND? An Ulta employee on Reddit said they are clearing space next to ND for (something) with their next floor set...just spitballing that that might be a good place for PMG!

@RGbrown @greeneyedgirl107  Ah, our Michigan Ave Ulta has an under-construction display right next to the ND display. I wondered what was coming but forgot to ask an employee while I was at the store. I don’t remember what used to be there… whatever it was, it must’ve been moved. Interesting!

An Ulta employee on Reddit said they got some PMG in their latest store shipment, so I'm leaning a little closer towards it being true! (For all I know, that person isn't actually an employee at all, but I'll be optimistic for now lol)

Well, I can breathe now, sorta.  It's confirmed @RGbrown .  It's also an odd release , like none of the major items and only specific things, like some of the blushes, no motherships, some quads 🤔🤷🏽‍♀️

@danielledanielle  That small group of products kinda matches my expectations. It's similar to the Natasha Denona release at Ulta. I haven't seen the official press release yet, but I wonder if the offerings will expand based on how the brand sells at Ulta. And now I'm certain the WIP display beside the ND display at my local flagship Ulta will hold Pat McGrath. I'll keep an eye on it. 🙂

@RGbrown I know that people were losing their minds over the news but I honestly feel very "meh" about it.  I've realized that I think that PMG is vastly overhyped; her lip liners will always be top favs of mine but there isn't much else that I feel really checks off all of my boxes.

I'm excited to see Ulta expand their Luxury offerings, having more competition is a good thing for everyone, but yeah, I'm a little bored with PMG myself. All pink palettes, all the time 🤨 I love the shadow formulation on the palettes I have, but the color range is abysmal, I swear it somehow gets smaller with every new release. I've got a few blushes and like them pretty well, and desperately miss the LuxeTrance line...not sure I've tried much else.

It's nice that they're getting more luxury brands, but I wish they'd get some more mid-tier, non-US niche ones like Bioderma and Nuxe (which they had for a bit).

@RGbrown  I think there really was a Charlotte Tilbury plan but the deal fell through. Don’t know the details though, and I think “details” are just speculation about what went wrong. 

Pat McGrath at Ulta would be fantastic. For me, anyway. 😂 It’d be another thing I’d happily spend some of my Ulta points on. I’m sure some folks will be against this for the same reason(s) they were up in arms about Chanel and Dior makeup lines coming to Ulta. Those are mostly folks who still associate Ulta with drugstore-only products, and Ulta hasn’t been that in a very long time. 

If this does happen, I wonder how much of Pat’s catalog would land at Ulta. I assume it’d be a subset. Might not even include Motherships—and at this point, that wouldn’t bother me since Pat (and/or whoever else has product-owner/creator pull within her brand) refuses to move beyond pink palettes. I suppose the Ulta catalog would include lipstick, gloss, mascara, lip liners, eyeliners, maybe foundation and concealer and setting powder… maybe blush. And some smaller palettes.
