Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.  

Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.

The product id is the number given to the item in the URL.  So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number.  If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta. 

It's not a search, but the direct url to the page. 

Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar.  It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204  Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.

My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:

(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward.  E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward.  Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase.  Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.

@ArmyChick84 I'd love to know if you get a purse spray or a substitute.  I did kind of think a .33 oz purse spray was too good to be true, so I guess I'm not surprised but I'm definitely disappointed.  I'm over here trying to google what the proper laws I can cite are regarding this.  

I'm also very curious to see/hear what everyone else is getting.  Did I just draw the short straw or is this the common experience?

@itscarin maybe some kind of class action suit for false advertising? lol. 🤔  I ordered both, but havent gotten them yet.  when I noticed the discrepancy on the first set, I checked the details and noticed it said "samples may vary"...sooo, that was kind of a clue, lol. I figured if 1 or 2 were different (depending on what), I wouldn't be bummed, considering there were only 2 or 3 in each set I was interested in in the first place, anyway...so maybe theyd be better than expected.  but the extra pts. is what also made me order.

It doesnt seem fair, though, as you said, to put a pricy item in the ad, but then sub it...I dont think they should be allowed to do the "samples may vary" thing, unless its one of those MYSTERY gifts, (which, it basically is, anyway). THAT'S what seems like false advertising, which they should be liable for. it also doesnt really make much sense to do false advertising, if theyre just going to give everyone gc's when they dont get the correct items. 😒😑

@treestar86 @itscarin Well it certainly burns trust and goodwill if you made the purchase based on the gwp and got something less. 

Especially if it keeps happening.

I don't think the point is to disappoint people with false expectations.

I feel like Ulta is kinda unique in subbing and being inconsistent to what's advertised. I've never had that happen with Sephora or other online retail.

I've been loyal to Ulta for so long, but honestly I'm feeling burned not getting the points bonus that was advertised and not getting a lot of the coupons or other offers in the past year.

The randomized system they have feels pretty uneven. Some people seem to get everything and others wonder if they we're even getting all of the emails.

It's not making me feel happy or valued. It feels like randomized favoritism.

Meanwhile other retailers are stepping up offers and loyalty program rewards.

@treestar86 I know they always say "samples may vary", and I'm not a lawyer, and I'm not a lawyer who specializes in consumer protection, however, it *can't* be legal to say "free gift with purchase (samples may vary)", show pictures of full-sized items, and then swap them out with much smaller samples.  

If they said "samples may vary" I assume that means samples will vary in brands or colors, not samples will vary in size.  If I called up and I was disappointed because they gave me the Michael Kors mini perfume instead of the Voce Viva mini perfume, I'd say "Ok, a $15 gc is very generous for the inconvenience of having the perfume swapped out".  Just imagine if they said they were sending a 5 mini perfumes of whatever variety, and instead you got 5 vials.  There's no way that's legal.  IDK what law it's violating, but there's just no way that can be legal.  It seems like a bait and switch to me.  But even if that doesn't cover it, I believe the FTC has some regulations around "truth in advertising". 

I'm still waiting to hear back from Ulta.  I don't mean to be a Karen, but there's no way I'm letting this go on principle alone.  I can be seriously annoying when I'm on going on principle!

Just received my order from national fragrance day and I had selected sampler#1.

it was supposed to come with Elizabeth Arden and Armani my way or ysl black opium because the photo and description were different. It actually came with Tom Ford soleil blanc and Calvin Klein deep euphoria substituted instead!

The Calvin Klein one is absolutely revolting! It smells like Deadly Grandma in a 1981 lookin bottle. It's one of the worst fragrances I've ever smelled. They're clearly tryin to get rid of it as I got it as a replacement in some sampler I think in January.

@treestar86 I was actually quite happy with this selection, it’s even better than the ad lol. The Tom Ford was the best surprise and I hope you get it as well. Its a really nice fragrance, it’s sweet and fruity which I prefer.

Wow I am rubbing eyes to see if I’m reading correctly. 5 perfume minis with $50 spend at Ulta? Wouldn’t each mini be a $25GWP at Sephora so would cost a total of $125??😱 Can’t wait till Ulta comes to Canada @RGbrown

@Guessgal I did a double take over the victor Rolfe purse spray. I don’t really like the fragrance but it’s a free full size purse spray. I’m in!  Damn it ulta.  You know my game.

Ulta gwps can be pretty nice! I know the virus knocked back Ulta's expansion plans pretty severely, but I truly hope they get the Canada rollout back on the table soon 🤞

@AkirraF right? I wish I knew. Black opium would totally sway me.

 It looks like they are featuring the ysl in the email and photos so I would hope it's in there, but with the way they sub things it's always a gamble. 

 They seem to recycle the same minis and scents over and over, I have a horde of idole, white tea, and happy already. Other than the Valentino, I feel like we've seen these all at least a dozen times in gwps and I'll bet that's why these aren't oos yet.

same, its always a bit frustrating when theres only like 1 or 2 in each set that you want, and the rest you already have, or arent interested in... 😑  leading you to have to pick between them, or, after debating, get exhausted and figure its not worth it just for 1 or 2 little bottles.  but in this case, I went w/both...lolll. 😁😅 the 5x pts. made it worth it, and I wouldnt mind my way, since I dont have that one yet. 🤗

@alexalicious I totally agree, except this was for me atleast one of the only bundles where I didn’t have these minis yet lol. But these gwp’s are lasting way longer than normal, It was worth the gwp and bonus points I earned stacked with the 21 days multiplier for even more points. I earned about 1000 Points for just a little over a $100 in combined purchases!

@AkirraF @I’ve received like 4 of the Armani my way minis this year alone.  Idk why but it seems like they have a lot of these to give away.  I would place my bets on it being Armani over ysl
