Let's keep this thread on topic!
Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)
5x Item/Brand Earned - 434
Total Points Earned - 1285
Links are not allowed. In lieu of links, please read this:
Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.
| Multiplier | 1 | 1.25 | 1.5 | 2 | 2.25 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.25 | 3.5 | 4 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 5 | 7.25 | 7.5 | 8 | 8.25 | 8.5 | 9 | 9.25 | 9.5 | 10 | 10.25 | 10.5 |

@RGbrown bummer that you didn't get some of it! The actual cosmetic bag is kinda cute at least, too 🙂
I was able to place an order with this glitch. I don't need the brushes but couldn't resist the deal. Looks like some friends will be receiving brushes as an additional gift this year.
Sadly, the glitch appears to have been fixed, at least the philosophy bag counting towards the total. B2G2 is still counting at full price, so at least there's that little perk.
That was THE trick, @RGbrown! And the interesting thing is that the B2G2 Ulta items didn’t seem to count at full price for the $50 Philosophy GWP (cart had to actually hit $50 before $3.50 coupon) – but they did for the $125 GWP. Go figure... Perhaps general “with any $$ purchase” deals are more glitch-friendly than brand-specific.
Glitches are fascinating, aren’t they?
Yay!!! I’m glad my earlier glitch plan worked! Zero self-control when the deal’s that good. Of course, you could bring it even lower - four $25ish Ulta B2G2 items oughta do it for $46.50ish total before tax. Run!!! 😀
nice haul!! you would think they would have learned from their mistake yesterday lol
@phantompenguinx I secretly believe this is not unintentional. Builds excitement, customer loyalty, yada-yada. Also enables shopping addiction, wouldn’t you agree? 😉
@civ2ruvery true...i'm supposed to be on a low buy, but placed an order yesterday with the glitch...did i need more face masks esp. from a brand i never tried mmm no, did i buy 6 of them, yes lol
let a few orders go through with the glitch, drive more traffic than they usually have, then pull the rug out from under everyone who didnt get their order in on before the fix muahahaha
The glitch is real.........RUUUUUN!

This is going to sound stupid, but...
I am trying to re-read your responses to me regarding Iobatta. However, I can only see the beginning of the messages. Nothing happens to open to the full message if I try to click it or anything. Was going to use your referral code but I can't see it. (Using computer, not app.) Can we not read the messages more than once? Thanks!
One additional note about Ibotta: they require $20 in your account before allowing you to withdraw funds. They also zero out your account if it goes dormant (1 year with no activity). They can be worth it, but only if you're going to use it semi-regularly to keep from losing funds. I used to use them all the time when I was drugstore/target/grocery couponing, but once i stopped doing that, I found Ibotta a bit of a hassle to keep up with since most of my cash back is now from online shopping and rakuten/Mr rebates generally have equal or better deals. Using Ibotta for their occasional higher rate led me to using them for subpar rates later when I suddenly realized I was about to lose my under-$20 balance.
TL;DR: Ibotta is good if you'll use it regularly, not so good for chasing the best rate every now and again.
@iwantitfree I earned $3.92 on this order and it posted to my account. Referral code is: fvwqvdk
I've been using the app for 4+ years and have saved over 5K. 100% legit Denver based company.
They usually offer 3% cash back at Ulta, but i've seen it as
high as 15%, 8% currently. Cashback can post anytime after
the payment is confirmed up to 60 days later, but I usually
see these credits in 1 week or around when the order arrives.
Coupon codes are tricky, it will usually allow the one featured
on the Ulta page, but not generally unique codes. I usually
load the discount code into my cart via the app first, I've
found I can occasionally get unique codes to be accepted
this way but it's not obvious if you'll still get the % cashback
if you do until it posts. Ebates technically is the same way, but
seems to be more generous usually and both require the
same process of clicking on the retailer to shop via the app
tor browser. Ibotta also offers Ulta bonus offers like $5 or $10
bonus cash off of a $60 purchase occasionally, which
will stack with whatever % is offered. I really love it and use
Ibotta on all my grocery/shopping. It's honestly my favorite
discount app, super easy to cash out too. Hope that helps 😊
