100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

@divaknits  Both colors are gorgeous on you! Too bad the gloss disappeared so quickly. That’s always my big gripe with gloss, too.

The kvd is a stunner!!   Do they normally ask you to wear products they sell at Sally’s to drive up sales? @divaknits

Not yet. If they did I’d be in trouble. I only have one lipstick from there and I bought it specifically to wear to my interview so that if they asked me who I was wearing I could say Femme Couture, which we carry. I’m just not interested in wearing any lipstick we carry. They’re boring. All those “normal colors” I don’t own a lot of. My manager always loves my lipsticks. When I asked her if it was ok with me wearing wild colors she

said yes. They just don’t sell ‘em. If they tell me to tone it down I’d be sad. I shine for  reason.

That’s reassuring that you have freedom like that- especially at a beauty retailer.  Makeup is about self expression so it would be sad if they told you what to wear.  While standard colors can be pretty they don’t suit everyone’s aesthetic.  

It is standard in Japan for retailers to train employees on their company’s makeup look.  It’s extremely true when you go into the fashion malls.  Their makeup look is usually the exact same as the poster girls’ and they have to wear the newest items being sold to encourage sales. I mean, it works! I’ve bought looks that the employees were wearing😄 @divaknits

I wish I could do it @heartsmyface. Natural colors are cool for me sometimes, but most of the time I need a hint (yeah right :D) of color. My manager’s cool with it though. When I interviewed with her she had pink and blonde hair and a nose ring. I think I’m good.

Hi I’m guilty of lipstick obsession too.  I think I can wear at least a different shade for possibly 50 days 😮 I now have boxes to separate my bullet style, liquid lip, gloss and liners.  It grew substantially after I tried the Huda lip products 😭 they were so much better than I wanted them to be.  Obsessed with BiteHuda - Cake Day Beauty, MAC, Urban Decay, Kat Von D, Too Faced, Fenty and now Huda.  There’s NYX and other brands too but the majority have all been from Sephora.

Thank you so much, I am lucky to have a great hair salon down the street from me that do custom colours and cuts.  It’s so easy for me to wash and add some texturizer.
