100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

It’s a MAC kind of day today - MAC Lipglass in Love Child and lipliner in Rebellious. My mouth doesn’t feel sticky, but then again I never have a problem with Lipglass. This one is pretty new, hadn’t even been worn yet. I’m late to the party. At least with most of my other lipsticks they had been worn at least once in a past life. I just wasn’t part of this challenge yet. I’m happy though to be going back down memory lane because I haven’t finished any of them. Too many if there is such a thing. 😄

Thanks @sprocketta! With Lipglass it’s either a love or hate relationship. It’s one that is an acquired tast. It’s not sticky, which I like. I only have a couple of these, so I can’t compare by colors. In my experience some colors just don’t wear the same as others.

@divaknits Eyes open and smiling! Good selfie day :). I've avoided MAC lipglass after I first tried them in the 90s and it was super sticky, bleedy, yucky. I'm guessing they probably have gone through a few formula changes since then. It's nice to know you don't find it sticky! I'm tempted to go test it out again.

I’m kind of surprised I went back to try another color. Oh Baby was and still is my go to. I didn’t like them as much @Weetart . Yes it is a good selfie day, except in the eyeshadow thread, but that’s just because I’m inexperienced with eyeshadow. I could actually close my eyes for that one. Lol

Bobbi Brown Crushed Liquid Lip in Main Squeeze

These are definitely different from the Lancome Lacquers. The texture is a bit thicker and creamier, almost mousse-like, and I got full opacity at one coat (the Lacquers are more sheer, like a gloss, and I usually do two coats of them). The applicator is also quite unique...think "football that's been ovaled off" and set at an angle. It gave me no trouble though, and gave me a distinct line pretty easily. 

This particular shade is a smidge brighter than I had in my head (which I don't mind); the opacity to the formula threw me for a bit of a loop, and there's almost a touch of white-base-neonness (totally a word 😋) to it IRL.

All in all, I'm liking this so far. I hope it wears as well as the Lacquers do for me (though my wallet kinda prefers it doesn't lol), but as it stands now, I'll be watching for some BB deals to pick up some more eventually 😍

OMG @RGbrown So excited to see this.  This is a great color on you and a lovely, detailed review, as you often give.  Since the Lancôme were a little thin for my taste, I think this one may be right up my alley.  You wear it will, dear.

Thanks so much! I have to admit I can't understand anything less than 100% love for the Lancomes (😂), but definitely give one of these a shot if you want something a little thicker...it certainly fits the bill!

@RGbrown  OOoooooh!!!! Beautiful! I was just waiting with bated breath for you to review these 🙂 You're the inspiration for my lancome love so I knew you'd have feelings about the BB. I think the color looks fab, interesting about the formula. Have you tried any of the Armani Lip Maestros, they've got that mousse-y yet opaque coverage, but don't dry down like a liquid lip. Thicker than the sephora cream lips, thinner than the Nars Velvet Lip Glides (though the finish sort of reminds me of that).

Dammit, I'm just going to have to buy one to see 🙂

I just threw out an Armani something or other a few days ago because I couldn't handle the scent even long enough to take a pic for this thread, but I don't know what it was (dangit RG, you're supposed to put those in the declutter box, not the garbage can, for this exact reason 😂). I think it could have been a Lip Maestro though 😋

Oh wow, that shade’s a touch brighter than I thought it’d be, but it looks great on you @RGbrown  ! Hope it wears well for you! 

I wore Cool Beets again today for about 3 hours, then switched to a L’Absolu Lacquer (Not Afraid—I must be the only person who has no trouble with that shade :D), so I could more directly compare the formulas. The Crushed Liquid Lips are really interesting... not quite a full-on glassy gloss, but also not quite a liquid cream/satin... kinda like a very lightweight liquid satin with a nice bit of shine. Whatever they are, I like ‘em.

Yes, definitely brighter than I thought. The description for this color was something like "bright pink-red", but I'm not seeing the red really at all. It's definitely got a white base that brightens the pink, and almost the barest hint of...coral? Grapefruit? Something that keeps if from being just a straight bright pink. I really like it, even though it's not quite what I was expecting.

I think in the long run, I like the Lancome formula better. I dunno if that's just "first love loyalty" yet, but I like the high gloss finish, and I thiiiink Lancome may be a touch more comfy for me. Today was also a terrible lip day in general...I've been gnawing at them like crazy all afternoon, so today's wear test is pretty much shot. No feathering or bleeding though, so that's a good sign. Will have to try again (and I'm looking forward to that soon!)
