100 Days of Lipstick Challenge

Hi BIC!

A lot of us have talked about our huge lipstick collections, and with the passing of another National Lipstick Day, I took stock of mine. I have about 200 lipsticks and glosses and realized, I only wear about 20 of them! So I'm challenging myself (and whoever else wants to join) to use more of them. I'm going to try to wear a different lipstick every day for the next 100 days.

@cianni @WinglessOne That’s so smart!! I’ll have to try that application method, I can’t stand the feeling of dry lips (which is why my liquid lipsticks sit there unused a lot of times LOL)

Yay, I’m glad the balm technique worked for you, @cianni! I hope it worked all day. 🙂 And Poet looks very pretty on you!

@WinglessOne thank you! And it worked perfectly. I made the mistake of attempting to reapply midday, although it wasn’t completely necessary so it did get a little dry where I added additional layers but it actually had really great staying power! And I think the balm may have helped with taking it off because normally this color takes a LOT to remove

I can’t believe I didn’t see this thread before, because I totally relate and I absolutely LOVE the idea!!!! I was planning on doing somewhat of a Project Pan with my lip products in 2019 and started to gather/sort through them to take inventory, only to discover that I own 200+ (still working on the exact number since some may not be making it into 2019). Most of them are deluxe samples from promotions & gift sets, and the majority are shades of pink, but I have a hard time wearing all of them because sometimes I just don’t feel like trying to make a color work (I’m probably overthinking my makeup, a story for another day). Either way, I like the idea of assigning specific products to each day to keep yourself accountable and keep track of what you’ve worn... I might just have to start my own challenge! 🙂

@JessLess Definitely reiterating what @WinglessOne is saying. There are some people that are less than a month in, and I really do think I'll do a second hundred in January. It can be a little daunting to use a new lipstick every day, but it also really helps figure out your collection and what works and what doesn't - especially if you have a bunch of samples you want to attack.

Day 18: YSL limited edition #70 Le Nu. I really like this one, but just one thing about it- they call it a “basic nude” but this just seems like a pink to me! But it is such a unique pinky kind of thing it’s so hard to describe but it’s so pretty! Like the bullet looks like a dark nude but when worn especially under a flash it’s so pink-toned! With this beautiful kind of shimmer satiny kind of sheen to it as well. It does have a fragrance, just like Rose Stiletto as well but it wears off after awhile.
