Foundation Separation

Friends, I need som help ASAP!! I’ve always been really good about skincare and making sure my face as well as my applicator is cleaned, and recently I’ve noticed foundation separation. It’s only on my nose, and it happens as soon as I apply foundation. I’ve always had dry skin, but I know it’s not a dry patch seeing as how I follow my skincare routine religiously, and go to an esthetician regularly. I’ve tried different foundation, primers, moisturizers, applicators but nothing seems to help. It’s like I apply the foundation but it only applies in some areas. What can I do to help this?

Foundation Separation

It sounds like it could be the foundation since it happens as soon as you put it on. I'd try asking a makeup artist at Mac or Sephora for help finding the right foundation for your skin. I also used to have a hard time finding the right foundation because I have larger pores and the foundation would collect inside them as soon as I applied it. If it is your pores that's causing your makeup to seperate, I'd recommend using a pore-less primer. But one tool that is a must have for smooth looking skin is the MAC Foundation powder. Setting spray after you finish applying your makeup could help to prevent your makeup from separating too! ♥️

I forgot to ask, have you exfoliated your nose recently?...

I forgot to ask, have you exfoliated your nose recently? One time I over exfoliated my nose and it caused my skin to seperate and get slightly flaky and it wasn't noticable until I applied foundation.

Foundation Separation

This works for me.. After foundation is on apply urban decay all nighter setting spray, once it dries then applying your setting powder. Makes a big difference! Also make sure you use a primer that isn't oily, my favorite is tarte smoothing primer.

Foundation Separation

I find that sometimes extra setting powder after primer helps prevent this on me. On bad days I just put a bit of blush on my nose to hide the separation a bit better.

Foundation Separation

Do you have any pores on your nose? I have many pores and can't apply foundation without a poreless primer, my go to is Smashbox Minimize Pores, a little bit goes a long way. Also, I stay away from any products with oil. Hope it works out for you. Xx
