My thoughts as a long long time TF lover! 

I have and LOVE Enchanted.  The new quad is nothing like the quality or performance of Enchanted. I got to bring mine to my friend that works for TF corp. 

While it looks alike in pan. It does not perform or give the same look and feel as the older Enchanted. The new one is drier, not as pigmented and lacks the dimension that Enchanted had. Enchanted looks magical on the eyes if done right. VO is a bit more dull, not as pigmented or vibrant. The 2 shades that are almost identical, you can tell how much better pigment and performance  Enchanted has, as it is creamier and very pigmented and the newer shade seems meh. 

Overall I am disappointed as I was so excited to get VO. I may still buy it.  But my TF spending has slowed way down. The Brand is not how it was 10 years ago. 

Now the other quad  Day D I am all about as it is unique and pay off is better!

@luvgloss13 I’ll respectfully disagree with you on the quality aspect. I tried VO on last night just playing around and I didn’t find any poor pigmentation or dryness with it. I tried on Daydream afterwards and found the quality good as well.

i think it’s a different formula but I didn’t find it inferior. In finish it seems closer to the sateen and vinyl singles than any of the original 4 Wet Dry quads I have. Wet Dry has not been my favourite formula over the years strictly because of how frosty the previous 4 are on me but I find this one more friendly to a medium/tan and deeper skintone. It seems in line with the general move towards warmer tones that the industry has been having over the past few years, as frosty options become harder to find, IMO.

Enchanted’s cool tones are very obvious that I am wearing eyeshadow because of how much they clash (hence why mine looks like it isn’t well loved after 5 years) but VO, the midtone melds with my skintone so it looks more like an enhancement rather than a frosty ‘look’. There was a video Lisa Eldridge did last year with Adele’s makeup artist where they talked about how Nude Dip is their go-to look and the result is gorgeous but when I tried recreating it, none of the shades in ND or Honeymoon create the same effect on my skintone because they aren’t right tones for me. VO is finally the version I can recreate that look with 😊 it’s worth a watch if you haven’t seen it, the end result is beautiful.

i don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer here; Enchanted works better for you and VO works better for me, for various reasons. I just wanted to point out that it performed well for me.

@Mochapj  I agree with you! 

But TF ( at least where I am )  is marketing it as a replacement for Enchanted to everyone that missed out on that quad. They are calling it almost the same as the other in finish, color and performance and that is not true as we both agree on.  I am glad you found one that works for you. I love the wet/dry formula as I love more pigmented metallic looks! 🙂

Most of the SAs at my counter must not have been with the company for long because when I pulled out my Enchanted to compare with VO, none of them (out of FIVE!) even knew what Enchanted was/that it had existed 😄

Quite frankly, I was shocked but not surprised because I often know more about the upcoming releases (from watching IG and whatnot) than they do.

@Mochapj Oh totally! 

My team has been with the company since day 1. Before they even got the color items, when it was just lipsticks. They all know about Enchanted and Emerald Lust. 

My friend called me and said they re-released Enchanted. This was a while back. This has been in the works for a while. They were telling everyone it was coming back or one just like it. To be fair, in the pans and pics it does look identical! I am still not ruling it out. I think when the formula first hit it was unique on the makeup scene and now there are many companies that make amazing pigment for less money. 

But I still love my Tom 🙂

Dear @Mochapj, thank you for referring to this tutorial. Please try TF Cream Opale as a base and Nude Dip. Perhaps that can bring out the colors more! Nude Dip and Honeymoon quads are my absolute fav!

@JenniferOhJenny it's a really stunning look. The first thing I did when I first watched it was pull out ND and try to recreate it's beauty, LOL.

The second thing was order a tiny fan brush. That part of the tutorial has definitely been incorporated into my routine for a night out for adding a little extra oomph.

@lachaton I'm really impressed with Daydream. As you said it's well curated and I particularly love that smoky navy blue.

It's what I initially went in for and VO ended up an impulse buy 😉

@lachaton I ended up bringing my Enchanted with me to the counter because they told me on the phone they didn't have their testers yet and I didn't want to purchase it if it was the exact same quad.

After swatching it at home, I'm happy with VO. Enchanted is lovely but I've always found it just a touch too cool toned for me.  The pink shade at top right in VO is slightly warmer and less frosty, so I feel like it compliments my skintone better. The stark white at top left is an interesting inclusion but otherwise both bottom shades seem to be the same as Enchanted.

I can see how you would prefer VO! It is not as cool and not as metallic! 

I love the metallic intense payoff and VO did not have it like Enchanted. Glad you found one you love! Your Enchanted needs some love lol 😉
