A lot of the other big beauty brands have their own threads now, so I thought, why not NARS? Let's share news about new collections, feedback on products, etc here.
The audacious thread: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Lips/Show-Me-Your-Audacious-Collection/m-p/1695820#M10941
SPRING 2019:
APRIL 2019: NARS x CONNOR TINGLEY
Have you picked up anything from the collection so far? Do tell!
@Anonymous man, i think this looks AMAZING ! bummed to hear you don't like the formula. they're definitely a matte, dry down formula, but i find it quite comfortable and even a bit plumping due to the flexibility of the formula.
how many times can i say formula.
if you wanna give it another try (i'm not sure how you applied it so forgive me for presuming anything), i'd be weary of applying too thick of a layer or else they would be more uncomfortable, for sure. think thin. (this advice is for anyone having issues with them, really).
meanwhile...you've enabled me to this color ! it's so pretty !
I think I just went in with the expectation that it will be less drying after reading you ladies rave about how comfortable they are. It IS more comfortable than a regular liquid lipstick, so I'll give it another try with a thinner layer like you suggested 🙂 thanks @jemly! I think this color would look great on you, it's what I would call a grungier nude.
Do you know what happened with the Floral redux palette? Has it been released yet? I am really interested by this one 🙂
@missjulied the whole floral redux collection is at Nordies for their anniversary sale- I haven't heard whether it will be going elsewhere afterwards
Don't know if it's an exclusive, but it's already available at Nordstrom direct as part of their Anniversary Sale. Right now it's still the early access period for cardholders only, but regular access for everyone starts July 21st.
When I see shades like this, I wish I wore eyeshadow. But I do admire.
The blush looks very pretty too.
Oh those are beautiful Mocha! I have to pick up Blissful since it reminds me of Isadora and I'm still bitter I missed out on that one!
@lachaton Hydra felt as smooth and pigmented as most of the DI I own.
There is a little skip in the swatch there that is my own fault; it wasn't due to the quality of the formula. It does look like it may be similar to some other past DI shades, though.
I need to pull out my DIs to compare 😄
Has anyone experienced tricky application with the Powermatte lip pigments? There was a brand new tester in the store for London Calling, so I tried it on. The color was a little dark for my morning, so I blotted some off while it was still wet. but then it looked terrible, blotchy and accentuated dry areas. It was so hard to get off after that... I had to use makeup remover and scrub.
Was just wondering if others found these dry faster than other liquid lipsticks once applied, if they felt drying, or if they wear down evenly. Thanks!
@playingdressup of the 2 I have, I haven't found them to dry down super quickly. If anything, I've found it can take up to 10 minutes for them to fully dry. Did you shake the tester before you applied it? The product page mentions they need to be shaken, though I'm not entirely sure why.
I found Starwoman wore off very evenly and at the end of the evening I had to use micellar water to remove it and even then it left a stain.
I didn't have any problems with London Calling either, but I haven't tried blotting them in the manner you mentioned.
Thanks @Mochapj, I must have gotten a strange result because I didn't shake it. I dipped in a clean sponge tip applicator, so I was only getting whatever was in the very top. I'm relieved the formula is better than I thought, because the colors are quite lovely. Thanks for the feedback!
Sephora canada has the fall stuff up! YAY!
The Spring app has a promo code of springapp20 for 20% off if you update their app! It includes the new stuff thats been popping up on there from Barneys. I also had $10 credit so I paid about $64 for the blush, one audie and one eyeshadow!
Just cross posting, for all the Canadians who are waiting for the fall collection, it's up at the Bay (blush, DI eyeshadows and kohliners)
Oooooooh....@Mochapj Nars should give you a cut for all the business you are sending their way... I didn't think I would be interested in the power mattes but you have proven me wrong! Thanks for enabling.
