A lot of the other big beauty brands have their own threads now, so I thought, why not NARS? Let's share news about new collections, feedback on products, etc here.
The audacious thread: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Lips/Show-Me-Your-Audacious-Collection/m-p/1695820#M10941
SPRING 2019:
APRIL 2019: NARS x CONNOR TINGLEY
Have you picked up anything from the collection so far? Do tell!

I checked out the bronze and highlight palette at Nordstrom today and I think it's a great formula, the colors are so pretty. Its got none of the hard pan that i find apparent in the Unfiltered palettes. The high lights are a pretty, dense shimmer, and the bronzers are fairly warm. I like that half the shades would work for light or medium skin tones.
Is it the Bord de Plage? I talked myself out of it since I have Banc de Sable, but part of me still wants it haha.
ever since they launched i've been yacking on about how i wished the NARS velvet lip glide range had more (any) brighter pinky shades. then it was revealed that ULTA had a NARSISSIST exclusive lip glide set. now--and this is nothing against those who love ULTA--i am not particularly an ULTA fan so that just shows how much i felt i needed these !
i just adore the lip glide formula. they still surprise me. so comfortable, and i find that throughout the day they leave the best blotted stained look.
this is nighttime lighting. if i notice a significant difference tomorrow with natural lighting i'll reshoot the swatches. this still gives ya an idea though !
limited edition lip glide set
packaging is really nothing special.
I saw these when @RGbrown posted a few days ago and was waffling on checking out, but your swatches absolutely convinced me. I love the lip glide formula too and these colors look great. Thanks for the swatches 🙂
I ordered this set too @jemly; @Anonymous and I are splitting it. I can do swatches of the three I keep. 🙂 They are beautiful! I'm excited for the pinks too. I really do enjoy the formula of these and my ones from the Sarah Moon set weren't getting much love because they are so... fall lip colors on me.
I can't wait! The colors will gorgeous on you. I'm excited for the red 😍
oh my! i saw it announced and really wanted it, but now seeing the swatches i definitely do!
do you think it is worth the price? it's $59 right?
I get you about Ulta... but you're making me want this. What is your favorite shade from the set?
@blueviolet21 i'm not sure yet ! i imagine i'll be wearing them throughout the week and i will definitely report back.
@jemly Thank you for sharing these swatches! I really, really want to love this formula but the ones I have from the Mind Game set bleed like crazy (and I've never had any lip colors bleed on me before) and they transfer everywhere. I even tried blotting and loved the finish, but after drinking some water almost everything was wiped off my lips. I tried using a clear lip liner before applying, but there was still no difference. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I would really appreciate any application tips you might have!
Despite all this, I love the colors in this new set so I'll probably still pick it up (and that tells you how deep my problem is ;))
@lippieaddict19 hi ! i don't think you're doing anything wrong. honestly....it sounds like this formula just isn't your bag ? i don't mind transfer (i just find it's part of it), but i find what does transfer doesn't wipe off entirely and leaves a nice blotted stain (the more nude shades, though, of course, wouldn't have this effect so much). i haven't had bleeding problems, but i also have only ever worn the light shades (mineshaft--the poppy red color--is the darkest one i've owned, as well as bound and playpen). i don't know why certain lip products bleed on some and not on others, it's the eternal mystery !
that said ! if you really love the feel and look of the formula and wanna make it work, i recommend pairing them with the velvet lip liners (not to be confused with the velvet matte pencils). when the lip glides launched i saw the brand using them with these liners in the promo videos. i LOVE them, but i also am not sure they're a guaranteed hit--for a lip liner, they're a bit thick and a little dry (SUPER pigmented though). but this is why they work so well with the lip glides--they give that 'grip'. NARS just released a new lip liner range, too, but i can't speak for those as i've never tried them.
Ahhh I needs this. *___* /grabby hands/ I wish it was available at somewhere other than Ulta. 😞 I really hope it's one of those exclusives that eventually migrates to other retailers after a time.
All of these shades are beautiful and look like they could be perfect for both summer and fall.
A couple of swatch comparisons for Hydra and Blissful. Everything except Sin in the blush comparisons is either LE or d/C
Blissful is quite similar to Isadora, but on my skin the blue pearl looks almost silvery so that when it's moving, it has sort of a wet look sheen. I haven't tried it on my face yet to see how that appears once buffed out, but it's interesting, to say the least.
Hydra is really similar to Deep End from last year's summer collab. The main difference seems to be Hydra has a black base, so it's a little darker.
@Mochapj do you think Blissful is okay for pale skin? It looks a little lighter than Isadora here, but that may just be the lighting. I can wear Isadora but it's a little too dark for me, and the purple undertone can make it look kind of dirty on me.
@ShannonAlexis It is definitely lighter, so it should work better for pale folks but I haven't worn it yet (will follow back up tomorrow)
the blue pearl translates as silvery shimmer on my skintone so it kinda looks wettish?
jemly wrote:an aside: sin, so lame in the pan. so glorious on the skin.
i'm wearing it today. top 3 faves.
I totally agree with you @jemly. I haven't played with it this summer, but its an amazing color on me for the fall/winter.
Here is the nars power pigment in walk this way... I'm conflicted. It's darker and more drying than I expected. I might have been spoiled by the velvet lip glides...
