Thanks so much for the swatches! I was also eyeing the NARS set, but couldn't make it to the Rouge Preview event today (currently procrastinating on studying for an exam... lol). While the shades are unique, they're definitely not for me-- yet another effective TMO of another holiday item previously on my list. 😄

Great swatches.  I really appreciate them @Mochapj as I just could not get myself out of bed this morning to check them out in person... anyhoo... I'm very pleased that they swatch true to their worded description ( mahogany, shimmering pink beige, rust, Bordeaux) . I'm quite a fan of the velvet matte lip pencils in general.

if we're being honest @blushnglow this set is one of the only reasons I made myself go to the event 😄

I ended up passing on it, but it and checking out Fenty in person were my main goals.

Thanks for the swatches! Does wild ways have any shimmer to it, or is spellbound the only one?

@RGbrown all the shades except Endangered Red had some level of shimmer to them.

if you've ever played with Bettina or Roman Holiday, it has a similar shimmer level to those

Thanks @Mochapj! I'm fairly new to the brand and haven't played with either of those other shades; I'm assuming just a touch of shimmer?

I'm not sure how I feel about these now...I was drooling when we first saw the set, but for some reason I was hoping/thinking they were all a bit more sparkly. I'm not sure I'm digging the shades themselves anymore now that I've seen swatches...even just a light shimmer is a plus, but I don't think the colors are me to begin with. Will have to ponder this one a bit. I appreciate your help!

@RGbrown the best way I could describe it is probably metallic matte? It's not super obvious shimmer, it just gives the lips a bit of sheen and fullness.

This set is one of the Man Ray pieces I was most looking forward to but given I own one shade already, and I'm not interested in Endangered Red and Spellbound is too light for me, I can't justify buying a whole set just for Wild Ways 😞

I feel similarly...I'd give the red a shot, but it's much deeper than what I normally like. Brown is not my thing at all, so that one's out. I have a couple of bronzey shades, and while I like them just fine, they aren't a staple for me and I don't think I need another one. And the picture in my head of me wearing the super light pink is not flattering at all...I appreciate shimmer, but I also think shimmer needs color, at least for me, and that looks about like my lip color..."my lips but frosted" might turn out alright, but I'm not digging on the thought of it.

I feel like I need to have a mourning period now...I'm so sad that this is looking like a pass. 😢

@Mochapj i wonder if this laguna description is correct. it's the sunwash diffusing bronzer formula, which is matte ! i have laguna and there's no gold shimmer....?

@jemly @Mochapj maybe the dimpled overlay caused a change in formula to explain the "golden shimmer" ??? I dunno....

Or perhaps it has an overspray. Looking at the collection as a whole, I'd say their interpretation of Man Ray involves an affinity for gold.
