A lot of the other big beauty brands have their own threads now, so I thought, why not NARS? Let's share news about new collections, feedback on products, etc here.
The audacious thread: http://community.sephora.com/t5/Lips/Show-Me-Your-Audacious-Collection/m-p/1695820#M10941
SPRING 2019:
APRIL 2019: NARS x CONNOR TINGLEY
Have you picked up anything from the collection so far? Do tell!
I had Christmas music on Halloween lol when I called a department store. Jingle bells just isn't "right" on Halloween. Talk about polar opposite holidays 😄
Okay so I need a consensus - Sarah Moon lip glide set yay or nay? My store only has 3 left.
I say yay! I'm going to call my local store pretty soon and see how many they have left. Maybe they will be nice and put one aside for me to pick up tomorrow, along with the Isadora blush and maybe the stripped lip glide.
Just throwing a few extra swatches in the ring.
Top to bottom:
Indes Galantes
Quai de Brumes
Isadora
I was surprised about Isadora - I had to pick up the pan to verify that this was, in fact, Isadora. I *think* this is one of those where you have to take off the top layer to get to the good stuff. I swatched a second time on the back of my hand (as well as Impudique) on my way out and I could see the lavender reflects a little more. FWIW, Isadora felt creamier to the touch than Impudique but Impudique was crazy pigmented.
After getting to the good stuff (lol) did you like Isadora @Libellules? The lavender shift intrigues me.
LOL @niki172! I did! Out of the pan it's almost bronzer like (at least on me. Maybe like UD Video?), and I've been wearing bronzers as blush lately + lavender shift = winner for me 😄
Hmmmmm okay I'm going to have to see this in person then. I think the other blush would be too much for me as in I'll look like a clown sort of way. Thanks 🙂
@niki172 Impudique when swatched is intense, but applying blush and swatching is so different! ***lesson I learned with Bicoastal lol.
@Libellules re: 'the good stuff' it's just as likely because you were swatching it in store.
Considering how many people swatch products and what moisture/oils/sweat/etc they have on their hands... that can easily change the texture and make it harder to swatch. Over the years I've noticed NARS powder products (specifically blushes) particularly susceptible to this.
I only mention it because I didn't have these issues with either Isadora or Impudique that I got.
@Mochapj while of course it makes sense that oils/sweat/etc. would effect the consistency of a powder product, the reason that I phrased it the way that I did is because I was one of the first to swatch it. The collection looked like it had just been put out that morning or the night before, with very little signs of swatching/use.
I plan on going into Sephora with no blush on and hopefully my favorite MUA is there and I can do both sides of my face without looking crazy :D.
I asked the SA today when I called to put the blush and lip glides on hold if the MUA was going to be in and she told me it was against the law to tell me that. I understand company policy and all, but I've been told many times by this store when someone is working. I also didn't think there was a law about it. Oh well. Thanks @Libellules!
@niki172 I think the other blush is definitely tailored to darker skintones. Even on my medium/olive skin I find it a bit much.
Isadora is gorgeous though, and I'd definitely suggest checking it out.
Would you suggest Isadora for pale tones (e.g. Nars Mont Blanc)?
@ournursie out of the 2 LE shades I would say Isadora is probably more suitable for pale skin.
the other darker shade could be lovely with the right application but I found it much stronger in pigment than Isadora, which I feel is easier to work with 😊
Hey everyone, I need some advice! I just purchased the Give In Take palette because I love the DI blush formula. However, I've never worked with the DI shadows. What do you recommend as the best way to apply them?
@LolliLove the shadows are pretty easy to work with.
the ones in this particular palette (darker shades) could be easier to overdo, but for the most part I don't use specific brushes for DI shadows because they pick up easily.
some of the permanent shades you can wet to make them more metallic looking, but in this palette I think only the last shade in the first row would do that as the rest are fairly satin/matte texture.
Swatches of the lip glide set.
FWIW I think the 675 shade (one I was most looking forward to) is the equivalent of the mini Codie lipstick in the thousand worlds lip/nail set in a different formula.
I like this set, overall. I think perhaps it doesn't need both Plato's and Chez Claude - they could've made one of those a different shade 😂
