BIC book club!

Some of us here have expressed an interest in a book club, myself, @mermadelove, @LCResz, @ZombieMetroAnt, @Mcakes. If you'd be interested in joining, reply below. My initial thought was to mail the books around but if it means that some people can't participate, then I'm all for dropping that requirement. I'd love this to be a place where we nominate our favorite book and others can read it and comment. Something fun for the new year!  ETA: the booklist:

Re: RE: BIC book club!

Looks like a lovely evening, @Mcakes!  Your snacks look delicious and I forgot how cute that mug was! ❤️  I have been wanting to read that book, too!

Re: RE: BIC book club!

Super treats, @Mcakes, nothing better than a good book, a mug of something warm and biscuits!

Re: RE: BIC book club!

This is definitely on my to-read list. I loved Everything I Never Told You!

Re: RE: BIC book club!

@quspork @MissPuff I'm definitely interested in reading Everything I Never Told You after reading this! I like her writing style as well.

Re: RE: BIC book club!

@Mcakes@quspork Ng has some very beautiful turns of phrase in "Everything I Never Told You" and her character portrayals just pull you right in. I wouldn't say it's a heavy book, but (and some of this is probably my own baggage growing up asian in the US) it's certainly weighty and sat with a couple days later.

Re: RE: BIC book club!

@quspork I just finished "Everything I Never Told You!" Overall I was a fan, I really liked her writing style, but was a little torn on the reveal.

Re: RE: BIC book club!

@MissPuff I felt the same way about the reveal, but I did love the build up to get there. Her writing style was almost soothing to me and I found that I couldn't put the book down. The character development really kept me interested.

Re: RE: BIC book club!

Hope you are liking them @Mcakes Smiley Happy

Re: RE: BIC book club!

Hahahaha I wouldn't blame you for eating them all up @Mcakes!!!  Oh and guess what!?! I think I might have found a recipe for that sucre a la creme. I'll get back to you on that!!!
