I realized we don't have an OOTD, outfit of the day thread, which isn't needed but can still be a lot of fun.  It's dress up for me, but make it adult.

This was part spurred by my natural hair journey, Tress Trek - A Transition Journal from Relaxer to Natural and NYFW and Zendaya.  99% Zendaya.

The Fit- this can be your attire, or what has arisen from the Capsule Challenge, your makeup bag.  Hair and fragrance "fits" count, too

lolololol, I was definitely a little self conscious walking into the post office @caitbird. 😅 Fortunately, there was a little girl there who was dressed up in a princess costume, so I just pretended that we were the normal ones and everyone else didn't get the memo, lol.

The fit:

I wore this dress today because the custodian where I work said he wanted to see "la gringita en roja" 😂 (he is from Mexico and very sweet, he has been teaching me some Spanish phrases)

the fab: definitely the accessories today! 

My earrings look like regular gold hoops, but look closely...they're actually little gold snakes with ruby eyes! I'm wearing the matching ring too. Snake jewelry by Coppertist Wu, lovebirds necklace by Amelia Ray Jewelry, cuff bracelet from J Crew, shoes are Sam Edelman. I'm also wearing Chunks Bow Snap Hair Clips Cherry

Hahaha he did not say that 😂... But I'm glad he did @caitbird , because you look awesome.  I think red is such a power color + love all the gold touches.  I think the light flush of blush compliments everything so well.

You know how every pair of linen pants that comes out this time of the year either has (1) a drawstring waist, (2) elastic waist, or (3) cargo styling? That's why I'm so happy I found this flat-fronted pair (they are elastic on the back) from Banana Republic factory. Extra points for being so cropped in the regular length they work for petites and on sale. But what to do with them this time of year?

THE FIT:

1. Madewell black/grey denim button-down shirt, 2. BR factory pants, (3) John Hardy Ring, (4) Rag & Bone Booties

THE FAB:

This look ended up a little bit western, a little bit rock, so it's fitting I was already wearing Matiere Parfume's Santal Austral. I love sandalwood scents and have been going through Matiere Parfume samples - this one isn't my favorite of the bunch so far (that would be Bois D'Eben) but it's a nice unisex, feral musk scent that lasts forever.

And then after putting on the ring, I was, like...um, where did you get that, honey? I mean the jewelry I wear almost always has a story and I couldn't figure out if I found this in a thrift store for $5 or it was a splurge. So, kind of fun to image search and realize it is a John Hardy ring from his Naga collection and the scales are meant to be protective dragon scales. Still don't remember WHEN I got it though.

Also, a tiny detail, but I love that this shirt has tortoiseshell buttons rather than something like metal.

THE FACE:

Monotone nude-peaches - these pants are so wide leg I just had to go there and nod to the 70's a bit.

I recently got Gucci Luminous Matte Beauty Blush 05 Rosy Beige and was crushed when I opened the compact, thinking it was too dark and the wrong tone for me. Surprise, surprise - I finally reached for it today and I liked it!

I also used it on my eyes along with the lightest shade from the PATRICK TA Major Dimension Eyeshadow Palette and some brown shimmer from an old Bobbi Brown shimmer brick and lined with MAKE UP FOR EVER Artist Color Pencil Brow, Eye & Lip Liner  .

Lips? Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Velvet Liquid Lipstick Peachy Nude ,lined with MAKEUP BY MARIO Ultra Suede® Sculpting Lip Pencil Dmitry and topped with a LAWLESS plumping gloss in a nude shade.

I love that the pant length worked out so well @PDXXXX ; when I saw the photo my first thought was that they were such a great length, not easy to find. Nude peach shades look so good on you! Gucci did a beautiful job with that blush line.

@itsfi thank you so much! Yeah, the battle of the petite inseam is never ending: it's nice to find a pair that looks good cropped with heels, but also won't be too long to wear with flat sandals. The Gucci, so true - it's nice when the price tag is actually in line with the product quality and you don't feel like you're paying "luxury" prices just to burn money!

@PDXXXX, hey... That's a no makeup makeup look, if I've ever seen one.  You just look naturally flushed and radiant.  Your eyes also pop .

Good point about elastic... Like side panel or back placement make so much more sense and it doesn't look pouchy.  Or my LEAST favorite thing, with string especially...the hole is large and the string is lost because you are using the drawstring 😭😏

BR sales are fabulous.  But those shooeeess. I 💕 💕

@danielledanielle the way so much makeup goes into no-makeup looks, ermagawd. I love a nude or peach lip on me, but I am just not much of a lipstick girl. I'm stoked I didn't totally brush off that blush shade, though. Those are the Newbury Boot by Rag & Bone. They were like the "it" girl bootie for a minute, and I was still a year or two late on them. They're so comfy, too. There are serious deals to be had on them now if you're ever looking to Posh some.

The Fit: The two toned blazer, RTR and these slouchy, but satiny joggers from BR and a gold leaf bracelet from (?) 🤷🏽‍♀️. I'm dressed for the cold, but comfy and cool 😎 at the office

The Fab: Cream and gold.  I do enjoy this pairing and the pop of black in the blazer worked better than I thought it would

The Face: Prada Beauty Dimensions Multi-Effect Refillable Eyeshadow Palette 09 Primula , baby!  This is also Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Chocolate Cherriez 2-Piece Lip Set + Pouch at work, werking

The Fit: Rodejber pants ( I keep wanting to put an extra 'e' and 'b' but alas, that's the spelling, I think?), Boss Jia blazer, Aerosoles multi toned loafers and oversized old lady glasses

The Fab: the accessories.  I didn't have the matching jacket, and I wanted to incorporate the blazer, but thought it would be too much or kind of Halloween-y because of the colorways? Somehow the shoes and the sunglasses make it come together

The Face: this is a combo I'll definitely repeat in the future, a fast smoky brown eye with Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil Zero , VIOLETTE_FR YEUX PAINT Liquid Eyeshadow & Eyeliner Marron Glacé the transition shade in Prada Beauty Dimensions Multi-Effect Refillable Eyeshadow Palette 05 PURE and Prada Beauty Pradascope Lash Lifting & Lengthening Mascara 01 Nero 

The Fit: Boss Dress meets Fenty Hair Scarf

The Fab: It's Candy Coated Coquette Pastel Version Week in the Cheek Challenge and I think I took it very literally, very seriously 😂... There's also a touch of Mad Men meets Old School flight attendant vibes here

The Face: Fenty's Undefeated is THAT GIRL. She's a little cool, a little neutral, never defeated. Mac's Grape Expectations pairs with this PERFECTLY.  Cheek combo is posted in Spring Cheek Challenge 2025: Style Awakening
