Hope the month of May has been blossoming beautifully for you, BIC! 🌷🌹🌼 I went on a bit of a beauty shopping spree last month (which, in full transparency, set me on a personal no-spend challenge in May 😅), so I’ve been taking time to really enjoy some of the new additions to my various routines. Some of my favorite products this month are ones I’ve been looking to try for a while (after being influenced by friends, social media, and – of course – fellow Community members). There’s nothing better than when something works just as you imagined it would!
Here are the products I’ve been in love with this month:
What’s been working for you lately, BIC? Reply and use the “#” symbol to tag skincare, makeup, hair, and fragrance faves as of late. I can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
This is Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Pressed Powder Translucent Light @Ispend2much6 ! Love it. Regular Translucent is good too but this one had a bit more life for me. Did you pick it up as well?
@Sunnysmom No I ran out of “events” to celebrate.😊
Ha @Ispend2much6 I’m sure we can all come up with more for you! ☺️
@Sunnysmom That's what I use the notebook for too! Well not swatches. That Dior pink is lovely!
Lots of interesting products, enjoy
These will be well-loved for a long time @CorgiMommy ! It’s so great to find lots of favorites eh?!
Ohh wow, that Dior highlighter is a beauty @Sunnysmom! I've been really embracing everything sparkly and shiny lately - bringing in summer makeup energy. 😊 The Caliray mascara is my current favorite too! It's the only mascara I can put on my bottom lashes without seeing and smudging.
Dior has really knocked it out of the park lately I think @GeorginaBT ! Love any glow too! The Caliray mascara is truly wonderful. Me too on the lower lashes! Best ever and I really appreciate the brush and its not so giant size!
I'm so impressed with the benefit!! @Sunnysmom
Yes @lmaster , I would love to see more shades!
Awesome faves @Sunnysmom !!! I've been eyeing the hourglass powder but debating if I want the LM one instead... 🤔
Ooh that’s gotta be a good one too isn’t it @jaaayp ! 🤔 I love LM luminous powder and loose powder too but I’ve not tried the others. Have you? Don’t forget Westman Atelier Vital Pressed Skincare Blurring Talc-Free Setting Powder Crème ! 🙃😆
Samesies @Sunnysmom ! I have both the loose powders from LM. I also actually have the loose powder from Hourglass too! Eerily similar, the two brands, now that I think about it..... 🤔 I thought about purchasing over the memorial weekend but I told myself that I needed to shop my own stash and I have the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder AND a refill.. technically they're supposed to be competing with the CT. Do you find hourglass to be better?
Thinking over here @jaaayp …! I think I actually like this HG powder better or very similar to the WA? It’s so light but the finish is just so pretty! WA too plus the packaging but honestly HG is so sleek. I love a good loose powder too! I’ll have to feel the LM next trip in store! I do prefer the HG to CT for me tho that may be unpopular to say! 🥹 It’s just lighter and more delicate to me but I also don’t want the coverage that the CT probably gives? I know many do. Do you love it? Also, it’s great to shop your stash. Good for you. Note to self.
YOU ARE RIGHT TO YOUR OWN OPINION @Sunnysmom !!!!!!! 😆😆😆😆😆 I haven't tried the WA but based on your rec, I'm leaving towards HG now.... I do like the CT quite a bit, I have some fine lines under the eyes and my concealer always tends to settle a little there but with CT, BAM, BLURRED. I didn't realize it gives coverage tho so I might have to pay more attention to that when I apply it next time 🤔 the rest of my face I usually just set with LM or MUF loose powder (my HG loose is too shiny for me rn, I can only wear it during the winter time 🙃).
I think shopping your own stash is a great way for me to finish a product before moving on, I actually shopped my stash the whole weekend every time I logged onto sephora app to make a purchase. I was able to get away with not purchasing anything, (who am I?) BUT I did end up making an ulta purchase because I really wanted to replace my contour brush that's been shedding on me as of late (which led me to buy like a whole set but at like 50%+ off) but that's definitely just my journey of low/no buy, I support you and your hauls/favs at anytime! You always have awesome swatches I love to see 👀
😆 Thank you @jaaayp ! 🤣 I had not thought of the CT powder to help with the under eyes issue that I ahem also have! That’s another tricky area for me. Ugh. I do better to reflect off them with something like HUDA BEAUTY GLOWISH Bright Light Hydrating Sheer Concealer 02 Fair-Light and a dot of concealer over it but I’ve not used a powder for the fear of extra line emphasis. Smart to use if it blurs, sounds great! Could just be me that thinks it has a little more coverage than others! I need the glow. 😆 Thank you for your support always! 😘 Baby steps- I try in little ways! Lol. You’re doing great! I love/hate to pan stuff because then I’m sad if I can’t find it again to rebuy! Dumb! 🤦🏻♀️ . Btw, I don’t think brushes count. That is all.
BRUSHES DONT COUNT @Sunnysmom ???? Omg that made me laugh 😂😂😂 no need to thank me, everyone has different journey and as long as it brings you joy, hey! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise 🥰
I actually did try the glowish but found that it settles into lines really quickly!!! I'm eyeing the caliray Hideaway Brightening + Hydrating Under Eye Color Corrector Concealer Dawn... the best concealer that I found with minimal creasing is either the nars creamy or tower 28 concealer. I do use Concealer sparingly, two dots in the inner undereye and like 2 dots outereye to cover the whole section. I try to avoid the creases as best as I can and make sure nothing is settled before I take a puff and light amount of CT, tap excess on the back of my hand, and gentley press to the undereye area to set it. It has helped dramatically compared to when I was using loose powder (baking there makes things way worse contrary to popular belief, at least for me). I really liked the Huda loose under my eyes as well. I might pick that up too LOL
They do not. It’s a rule @jaaayp . Along with skincare and other tools. 😬 Thank you so much for your helpful tips, I will work on my application skills that are sorely lacking! That’s too bad the Huda didn’t work. I was shocked it did for me. I’ll of course go check out the Caliray you mentioned too. I actually just tried the tarte Colored Clay CC Undereye Corrector Light-Medium and it’s quite effective with very little creasing as long as I don’t mess it up! Tarte is usually way too much for me. I haven’t used my Nars in awhile , I should. Trying to recall if I did try the Tower 28. 🤔 And I thought concealers were one category that I didn’t have too many !! A bit more manageable than others that shall remain nameless!
I think Huda works wonders for the rest of my face! Have you tried the Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Loose Powder for Under Eyes ?? I'm eyeing this next... there are too many things I'm eyeing tbh. Idk how I'm gonna keep/try all these or how to even choose!!! I agree, I kinda stopped using tarte because I felt like it was waaaay too high coverage for me no matter how little I used (I don't love the high brightened undereye look for me).
I think it's time you share your collection @Sunnysmom 😂😂😂😂😂😂
