Re: Ask a Beauty Director

help for 30s makeup - blush? bronzer? tinted lotion, etc

Looking for help with makeup suggestions. My Beauty Advisor Recommendations doesn't populate- always has an error.

I am mid-30s and use very light makeup.

I currently use -

BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Vanilla (with a light moisturizer), NARS blush deep throat, Makeup Forever cover up in the lightest shade, Tarte Sea surfer curl mascara and Urban Decay eye primer potion anti aging.

I feel like my blush is too shimmery and I want to have more of a subtle look that doesn't accent the lines forming in my face.

I'm not sure if the bare minerals cream is the right choice but I can't use powder anymore. it settles in my lines around my eyes.

I like natural, simple, and easy to wash off.

Thanks!

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

@litttlechica000   A beautiful replacement for Nars Deepthroat which is more matte is Shiseido Minimalist Whipped Powder Blush Momoko It goes from a cream to a powder and looks quite natural on.
Cream blushes are absolutely the most comfortable on drier textured skin.  If you want to still play with powders it’s recommended you stick with mattes as they won’t exasperate any fine lines.

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

thank you! exactly what I was looking for in blush recommendation

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

Looking for a new skincare routine that won't completely break the bank. I had a lot of freckles when I was younger that have spread themselves out into age spots the older I get. Also, how in the world do we get these enlarging pores under control????

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

@karinkb   As we age we lose facial fat, produce less collagen and our skin becomes less elastic leading to larger looking pores.  You can combat this by eating a healthy diet full of green leafy vegetables, reducing sugar intake (sugar reduces collagen production) and by wearing sunscreen every day.
Using a gentle daily exfoliant will help ensure your pores stay clear of debris which can also enlarge them.
Topical ingredients which are great for pore réduction are

daytime

ahaS - remove dead skin cells so pores don’t clog and other ingredients can work more efficiently.

Niacinamide - helps with your skin barrier, shrinks pores and fades spots

vitamin C - fades spots and helps combat sundamage.

Sunscreen-  this is your number one skincare weapon against aging.

nightime

Retinol- increases cell turnover and improves skin texture.

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

I have alot of redness in my skin in my face. How can it cover it up? My skin is some what oily.

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

@Anonymous Are you looking for a foundation? If you want it to cover, I assume you want at least a medium coverage? I've had good luck with Lancome's Teint Idole.

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

I am looking for a setting spray that will help keep my foundation on face and not rub off on my masks. What do you recommend? I have tried Smashbox and found it didn't work as well as I had hoped.

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

Charlotte Tilbury airbrush flawless setting spray is to die for!! Very aggressive spray and a lot comes out but it dries like a dream, no little droplets left behind. Takes a bit to dry, but very much worth it!

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

I love the EVE LOM cleanser. The smell. The consistency. Everything... BUT the price. I'm curious if there is any other cleanser/cleansing balm that compares???

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

Hello! I’m wanting to try the Nudestix tinted cover. I usually use Juice Beauty 14 Sand. Not sure what shade I would be in Nudestix. Thoughts?

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

Hi ! I want to order the new huda beauty foundation stick but the shade finder is not working so I am not sure what colour to get! I am normally mont blanc in Nars Sheer Glow!

What is a skintone id

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

@Anonymous it's a shade finder to find foundation shades that match your skintone.

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

Hello, good morning, I would like to know how much I should add in percentage of taxes or if they are already included in the on line prices, I am going to buy in las Vegas

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

@Anonymous Taxes get added at checkout since they are determined by your locality/state.

Thank You

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

Hello,

If I am in shade 210 in Fenty Foundation, would there be a way to see what shades I am in other brands? @MyieshaBD

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

@Niseybats Hi there!

Thank you so much for your question! Check out your favorite brands and their alternative shades by visiting the "find your shade" option located under the entire foundation shade range of your choice. Because you know your shade in fenty, you will be able to find a match in most other brands carried at Sephora! I hope this helps!!

Alternatively- you can visit your local Sephora and try out the new MCIQ technology! This new system takes three scans of your face and recommends several other shades based on your skin type, desired coverage and finish! Check them both out!

What’s the best brand of eye lash brand to buy for thin and light brows? My hair is natural gray

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

Hi @jmr77 !

For brows, choose the format that best works for you- I like to recommend a powder because you get soo much control. Bascicall you will load, tap,  and apply the powder using light strokes from the middle of the brow to the tail. Then apply light vertical sketching motions to the inner part of the brow if needed. For the most natural effect try using light pressure and filling only where needed. Brush the powder through the brows to create a blend.

Powder Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo Dual-Shade Powder Eyebrow Makeup Taupe brow brush SEPHORA COLLECTION PRO Brow Brush #20

brow gel- (brow mascara) Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows Tinted Eyebrow Gel in Taupe - neutral undertones

brow pencil- SEPHORA COLLECTION Retractable EyeBrow Pencil - Waterproof  in 1.25 Neutral Gray Brown

Hopefully this helps!
