Re: Ask a Beauty Director

@emilywinter23 so i can help with the Hourglass options , so i would say for a powder try Hourglass Ambient® Strobe Lighting Powder Incandescentin 'Incandescent' , or they have an amazing cream highlighter that i think is incredible Hourglass Vanish™ Flash Highlighting Stick Champagne Flashin 'Champagne' , then for blush try HOURGLASS - Ambient Lighting Blush Collection - Mood Exposure its a gorgeous natural soft nude/berry shade that works amazing on fair skin.

for the Kevyn Aucoin id need to see your skin to choose a shade as they have alot of shades and it is a full coverage product so you want to be as close as you can to your shade.

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

Hello,

I like the Drunk Elephant brand and have been trying instead of my Clarins for mature skin.  Not certain which DE moisturizer would be more suited for my age skin.  I need one for day and night.  I am using the DE Framboos right now.  Thank you!

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

@MariTF  the Drunk Elephant Lala Retro™ Nourishing Whipped Refillable Moisturizer 1.69 oz/ 50 mLis perfect for mature skin, highly moisturizing and nourishing. it is the product that sky rocketed the brand into cult status ! you will love it!!

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

Thanks!  Will give it a try.  One more question.  To give it an added boost for more youthful skin which oil would you suggest to layer in?

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

@MariTF i am really loving the Youth To The People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Oil with Squalane and Antioxidants 1 oz / 30 mlfor intense hydration ,vitamin C,  omega fatty acids, and the beautiful glow it gives your skin. it would pair very well with the LaLa whipped Moisturizer!!

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

Hi everyone 🤗 so I had a question about ambient light powders from hourglass.  I have been using luminous light for a while but a)I am not sure if I should be putting it all over my face b) if I am putting it on correctly.  I have also been debating if i should get a mini palette to try out other powders in the ambient powder collection but a) im not sure which one to get b) I am not sure how to apply them.  Just a bit about me: I only use tinted moisturizer and concealer under my eyes, I like to keep my make up look simple and my skin tone is medium

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

@amaghrebia with these powders there is no right or wrong way to use them. they are created in a way that allows them be used as needed by individuals. so if your really oily lets say , you could use them more on the high points of the face as a type of highlight but they are still soft enough that someone oily could apply them all over the face for a general soft glow. that is why i love them so much. i do feel that the palette is worth it because the variances in the powders can adjust to your skin. 'Radiant Light' can be a soft bronzing , 'Dim Light' creates a filter like look on the face. and one of the best options is to sweep your brush over all three shades and apply that way, it works amazing!! Hourglass Ambient® Lighting Palette Volume I

thank you so mich for the advice!

@amaghrebia my pleasure!! 🙂

I have very dark, but thin eyebrows, and I was wondering how would I fill them in? Not to make them look like ''Instagram Eyebrows,'' but just so they look fuller and better when I do a full face of makeup... Thankss ❤️

RE: Re: Ask a Beauty Director

I think you would love the Anastasia dip brow pomade! If you use it light handedly it creates a really natural look.

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

@itsbellaaa  the best approach to get a fuller looking natural brow is to be strategic with the products. looking at your image i would say you want a pencil to add some hair-like strokes to create a more real fullness, use a fine dry pencil like Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil Waterproof Eyebrow Definer Shade 3.5 this will allow you to create a micro bladed look of added hair and fullness. then use a good brow gel or even better the new PATRICK TA - Major Brow Shaping Waxwhich you can sweep through your real brows in an upward motion to hold them in a feathered look which will make them look much thicker and polished.

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

Hi @itsbellaaa  🙂

I just re-discovered   MILK MAKEUP KUSH Fiber Eyebrow Gel Dutch  in Grind.  It looks perfect for your just-right, not too thin brows.

I dabbed a small amount in the middle then used a spoolie to spread it around. It made my brows look fuller/the ends defined instantly and with minimal effort. It took 1 minute. Hope this helps!

RE: Ask a Beauty Director

I would like to try out the new Fenty cream bronzers but don’t know what shade would suite my skintone...my Fenty foundation shade is 330, can you help ? Tnx 💖💖

RE: Ask a Beauty Director

Honestly my friends and I tried the Fenty cream contour it looks super orange on us but you may love it! I recommend the smashbox contour stick in case you change your mind!😊💞

Re: RE: Ask a Beauty Director

@Kymberle yes i think you would be best suited for Fenty Beauty by Rihanna Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Bronzer 05 Teddy! your gonna love these cream bronzers!!!

RE: Re: RE: Ask a Beauty Director

Thank you so much !!! Would I need to set it with a powder bronzer ? If so what color in the Fenty powder bronzer do you recommend? You’re the best David 💙💙

Re: RE: Re: RE: Ask a Beauty Director

@Kymberle that is good question , the answer is no, you can set it with a classic translucent powder. if you used a powder bronzer to set it will intensify the cream alot making it darker so be careful haha. i think best to use translucent 🙂

Ask a Beauty Director

What makeup tips, application techniques, makeup and skin care products, at home treatments can you give to those of us that are trying to camouflage textured acne scarring? Any product that actually fills in ice pick scars? Smooth out boxcar and rolling scars? thanks in advance!

Re: Ask a Beauty Director

@Crystal1983 there are a few ways to help. first skincare is super important. a resurfacing product like YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE - Kombucha + 11% AHA Exfoliation Power Tonerused daily will reveal smoother skin over time. also you can substitute in once a week a stronger at home peel like Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial™ AHA + BHA Mask 1.69 oz/ 50 mLto really boost results. for makeup primers that have smoothing capabilities are key. try Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer 0.7 oz/ 20 gwill smooth the look of skin and allow foundation to lay down easier and with less texture.

xanthelasma and dark circles

xanthelasma and dark circlesxanthelasma and dark circles

I'm looking for some advice on how to cover up these horrid xanthelasma (cholesterol deposits) and dark circles under my eyes. I've tried several concealers but haven't found success yet... I'm at a loss. I never really wore makeup and now I find myself very self conscious because people keep asking me about my under eyes wanting to know what is wrong with me. I'm a complete novice to make-up... but the only other way to get rid of them is surgery and that's too scary. Please help!
