Please include the brand and name of the mask you are trying out, as well as a photo if possible. Any other details are greatly appreciated, including scent, if it's an exfoliating mask (include acid info if known), your overall experience, and whether or not you would repurchase. Don't forget to include a grade (thanks to @ShortErica for the idea) to help others along the way.

Most importantly, have fun and merry masking!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Tonight’s masking with Volcanic and Vita:

The innisfree Volcanic Cluster Pack has been on my to-do list for a while now. It is a chalky grey, shiny clay that applies smoothly and seamlessly. No scent that was obvious or worthy of noting.

After leaving it on for nearly 45 minutes, it still had not dried, nor was it tight. After rinsing, my skin felt smooth and refreshed, highly unusual for a clay mask. I can see why this one is a favorite, it will be a repeat for me for one!

The Orjena Moisture Essential Vita Mask showcases ‘Cellulose Mask’ at the bottom, which I hadn’t noticed when purchasing. I was pretty elated and opened to inspect it closer. It did not appear to be a biocell mask, although the material conformed similarly well to my skin. It also felt close to one, although definitely not on par with the strict adherence of one. As with the innisfree, I did not detect a scent. It fit well on my face, and I left it on a good 30 minutes before removing. No remaining tack, plumped skin - this was a lovely mask and one I would repurchase in a heartbeat! I have a couple of others from the brand which I am now very excited to try.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@eshoe  Happy to hear you enjoyed both of these! I have wanted to try that Innisfree mask for awhile now, because of all the positive reviews - it definitely sounds great!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

It’s one of the better truly clay masks I’ve used, @Shosh85. Zero drying down was exceptional for me. I think there are a couple (at least two?) versions of this mask, need to research but I would like to try the other one as well.

I did intend to check my pores for any actual ‘action’  i.e. clearing but was sidetracked with the sheet mask texture. I have another use in the pack I received and will make a mental note to report on that as well.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

E is for Erno Laszlo (forgot to take a picture, so I borrowed one from the internet 😉)

Erno Laszlo Firm & Lift Firmarine Lift Face Mask

This mask comes with two packets - one with liquid and the other with powder. It had a sort of minty scent that I think smelled very similar to the mouthwash I use. I dumped both packets into a bowl and stirred until thoroughly mixed. It turned into a very messy and goopy consistency, which made it challenging to spread evenly on my face, and was constantly trying to droop off. It took less than 10 minutes for it to set up and had a nice, light cooling sensation while it was on that felt pretty refreshing. I was able to remove it in one piece and there were only a few little bits from the edges of the mask that were left behind, but was easy to clean up just rubbing my finger on it a bit. My face looked brighter, felt so soft and smooth and had some bounciness to it. My skin did feel just a tiny bit on the dry side, but for me it's to be expected with these kind of masks.

This has great results and is a fun one to do if you're in the mood for the extra work that's involved. 😉I'd definitely use again but probably not repurchase, especially for full price, just because slapping a sheet mask on is much easier 😂

 My face:

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@Shosh85 That looks awesome! But way too much work for me.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@Samtian  Yep, I totally know what you mean. It's not too often I'm in the mood for the extra work 😄

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

From last week, F for firming in the Manyo Bifida Ampoule Wrap mask

This is a seaweed gel mask that promotes skin barrier health and turned out quite nice. It's a 2 piece mask so lends itself to a nice fit. There was a ton of clear serum left in the package as well. It is quite scented but nothing offensive. It had an earthy scent with a hint of mint. I'm assuming that's all in the rosemary water, Irish moss water, and eucalyptus leaf oil coming through. While on, it felt very cooling, almost tingly- quite invigorating. It did seem to dry out quicker than I would have liked, less than 15 minutes in. After removal there wasn't too much tack left and while I didn't notice a visual difference in my skin, my skin did feel nice. I'd probably use this one again in the morning for a nice wake-up-the-skin mask.

Then for Flash masks, the Patchology Flashmasque Illuminate

Well, I finally found a Patchology mask that I would not repurchase. I usually love their masks, but this one just wasn't kind to my face. It's a cotton sheet with a super cute lace design on it. But that's really where the positives end. The scent, ugh, the scent. It smelled like acetone. It was quite off-putting. The fit was 100% terrible- far too long and narrow. If you're insanely skinny with a Tyra Banks 5-head though, you may have better luck in that arena. While my skin did feel a little softer and smoother after removal, there was no brightness as one would expect with an "illuminating" mask and I did have bit of redness. That went away after a couple hours, but still, not ideal. They can't all be winners!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@quspork  Haha! Your "Tyra Banks 5-head" comment cracked me up! 😂 The scent alone would keep me from trying this one!😬 Sorry to hear it was unimpressive!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Love the two piece masks @quspork , but you're right, they can't all be loves, at least now you know that that Patchology mask is a pass.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

I've tried a ton. Miss Spa's Hemp seed mask is great. Avon's Put Your Cool Face On mask is my all time favorite. I love how they are cut, it provides lift. It's calming effects are phenomenal. I recently tried Neutrogena Hydro Boost and did not like it. I did not like the consistency, the fact it came in two halves. Would not recommend.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

The bottom piece was slipping off. I couldn't even talk. I haven't tried many others in the Miss Spa collection, I ordered some today.  The Avon one is cut like a face lift. I ordered some more from there today. I will let you know.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@Danielle103 I haven't thought to check out masks from Avon, great idea!  I love two piece masks, mostly so I can get a better fit and can take off the bottom if I want to snack lol.  Hope you find some new fun masks on the thread!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

E for Vitamin E

This is the last mask for the 3 pack I tried. Out of the 3 this one is my least favorite. The sheet was fine, same as the others, the scent was horrendous,,,🤮 an absolute deal breaker. To me it smelled foul, that's the best description. Wear time was 15, I wanted to give it a fair shot despite the scent. It completely was underwhelming!! It claims quenching,,,I felt very minimal hydration, nothing screamed soothing and nothing felt moisturizing about this mask. Major fail.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

I just ordered one. Ugh. The smell is going to be a killer for me too.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Too bad only the one was a good one for you @lmaster .  Good on you for giving it a fair shot after a nasty scent though!

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@lmaster  Aww, dang. Sorry to hear this one didn't turn out so well! A bad scent and unimpressive results definitely sound like a fail to me. 😕

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@Shosh85 ughhhhhh major fail 😒

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

@lmaster  Ewwww. Do you like the smell of aloe? Seems so weird it wouldn't smell like that.

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

I never had an issue with aloe @PrettyPaint but this is not what I have experienced aloe smelling like 😆

Re: Mask of the Week Challenge

Major shame on the scent for this one, @lmaster. Too bad it didn't work out!
