Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

Here are some wash off masks that have been in the queue for testing the last week or so.
10.5.2022 innisfree clay masks.jpg
Up first, with the changing of the season, I paired innisfree Pore Clearing Color Mask with Volcanic Clusters [Hydrating] Wash Off Mask with Dr. Belmeur Real Calming Face Mask Autumn Hemp Seed
10.5.2022 Forgotten Wonders Hemp Hydration.jpg
Wash Off Mask:
I was excited to try the innisfree Pore Clearing Color Mask with Volcanic Clusters [Hydrating] Wash Off Mask - my skin tends to go through a stage of flux this time of year as it transitions with the season from combo-oily-with dehydration under the surface to combo-leaning-dry-and-dehydrated-under-the-surface. it boasts volcanic clusters from Jeju Island and hyaluronic acid, has a pale baby blue hue and a water-gel clay mask texture. It dries slightly but does not harden. Instructions recommend leaving the mask on for 10 minutes. After washing off the mask, my skin did not feel tight or dried out and the pores on my nose appeared smaller and decongested. As for its hydration claims, that wasn't bad, but it also wasn't standout. I suspect this might be a nice level of hydration for someone with oily, normal or combo skin, but it's not enough on its own for someone with dry or dehydrated skin. Not drying, but not hydrating beyond the ordinary.
Sheet Mask
Like the summer mugwort variety from the same line, the sheet for the Dr. Belmeur Real Calming Face Mask Autumn Hemp Seed is soft, thin (possibly Tencel), and saturated with a clear, thin, watery essence. Unlike the summer mugwort version, I didn't pick up any discernible scent; other than a fresh and clean scent. This version is intended to soothe acne-prone skin. My skin wasn't breaking out the night I reached for this sheet mask but it was feeling more sensitive than usual, likely from having a mask on and off for a few days. What redness I had on my cheeks and the corners of my nose seemed to be diminished slightly after having the sheet on for about an half hour. My skin felt bouncy and hydrated from all the essence packed into this sheet, which is always a plus for my dehydrated skin.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@itsfi the sheet mask sounds great! Fall/winter always causes more sensitive skin - glad it worked well for redness reduction for you!

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

Lovely masking photos @itsfi

I have a question,  anything you find that helps with redness of the corners of your nose.  I find lots of things help with my cheeks but nothing works on my nose. I just figure it's how it will be forever πŸ˜…

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@CynthieLu, thank you.

Hmmm, good question. I’m not sure how to get rid of redness there forever. I imagine it will depend at least in some part based on the reason or source of the redness. Mine that night could have been the result of any of the following reason- dinner was too spicy, blowing my nose, the clay mask or removing it, etc. The redness went away and wasn’t present the next morning. To diminish the appearance of redness in that area, I’ve used Dr. Jart+ Mini Cicapairβ„’ Tiger Grass Color Correcting Treatment SPF 30 0.5 oz/ 15 mL.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

For the Sample Dive theme :

Youth To The People : Hydrate and Glow Dream Mask

This mask boasts ingredients like Maqui, Vitamin C, Squalane and Hylaronic Acid

This is an over night moisturizing mask

The brand is Cruelty free and Vegan πŸ’›

I got this mask with a sample bag from Sephora early this September and hadn't gotten around to trying it yet,  I have used this type of mask before and they are right up my alley because my skin is on the dryer side and likes extra moisture.

The mask is thick and rich and yellow. It has a very faint smell, a bit sweet but not very strong. The scent was gone shortly after I applied it to my face.

It is a thick cream that didn't feel greasy to me.  It absorbed into my face in about 15 minutes,  there was a slight tackyness after,  since i was wearing it to bed I was not concerned about it at all.
The mask had no tingly feeling or any sensation at all on my skin.
In the morning I woke up and my skin looked plump and hydrated, similar to how it is after Pacificas Wake Up Beautiful sleep mask. Except this mask contains Vitamin C, whereas Pacificas does not.

My skin looked nice and moisturized, and it carried through the entire day.
I have one more sample I think I might save for a really cold and dry winter night and see how it helps combat the dry colder weather. My skin needs serious help during those extreme cold snaps. I'd hold off on considering a purchase until I put it to the test again.

Happy Masking! πŸ¦„

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

Ahhhh, this is a favorite among many on BIC @CynthieLu! It does wonders for dry skin and with the cooler weather approaching (or having already arrived for some folks), it’ll be be in high demand!

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

I can see why,  it was very hydrating. @itsfi  I've decided I have it's cheaper sister in another product lol,  they share alot of qualities. I'm very curious to see who holds up better in the extreme temperatures of January and Febuary.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

Abib Gummy Sheet Mask

I thought this mask seemed interesting since it claims it strongly sticks to the skin and can be stretched to perfectly fit your face.

Unfortunately those claims are nonsense. It’s just a normal soft feeling mask that was actually slightly too narrow and a bit short on the chin. It really didn’t feel stretchy at all. I think it was slightly more likely to stick than some masks but there’s plenty of other make that I can get up and do stuff with it on.

on the other hand, it didn’t have any particular scent and I actually thought it was pretty hydrating. It all absorbed within about 10 minutes.

so I overall the result was a success but it’s not anything special

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@Kim888, I thought the β€œgummy” referred to the serum in the mask; how interesting that it applies to the sheet. Your results sound nice; it’s too bad this one wasn’t a standout. That’s probably the case more often with all the masks you’ve used through the years; it gets more challenging for a mask to be considered special.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@Kim888 somehow a "gummy" sheet mask doesn't sound very appealing anyway πŸ˜‚

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

Hmmmm it sounds like β€˜gummy’ might not have been an applicable name for this one, @Kim888. It sure sounded good, though!

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

Do you think you'd try it again @Kim888 ?

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

I wouldn’t go out of my way to buy it again but if I ended up with another I’d use it @CynthieLu

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@Kim888 that's very odd!! Gummy in the name sounds pretty cool, too bad it was nothing special

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

For this week’s topic I chose SEPHORA COLLECTION Clean Eye Mask Caffeine and Bliss’s Marshmallow Face Mask.

The eye mask was a hydrating mask.  It smelled like coffee.  How wonderful!!  If it wasn’t late at night I’d have to make myself a cup.

I left it on for 15 minutes and there were no skin problems after I took it off.

My eye area was soft and hydrated. I will use it again.

The Bliss mask was wonderful!!  It was a thick, soft, fluffy, light pink product.  I applied a thick layer and left it on for 15 minutes as directed.  It was to improve hydration and even out tone and texture.

It was still soft when I removed it.  And the result was terrific. My skin had  no reaction to the product.

My skin was so soft and smooth afterwards.  And it was brighter.  But this has continued into day 3.

This will be used again.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@Cissy63, coffee and marshmallow sound like a winning combination, and fitting for a fall treat. πŸ˜ The eye masks are great for a putting a little pep to the complexion, brightening up the under eyes. Soft and fluffy sounds like the perfect consistency for a marshmallow mask; your results sound fantastic too! I have a mini jar of this bliss mask somewhere in my bin of mask samples; making a note to find it and put it to use.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@Cissy63 the texture of the Bliss mask looks yummy πŸ˜‹

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

Sounds like a wonderful masking session, @Cissy63! That Bliss is a hidden gem. It is one of my favorites for a low-key, gentle and enjoyable mask. That Sephora eye mask is wonderful, too.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

@eshoe  The Bliss mask is just wonderful and not costly.  That caffeine mask is so good.

Re: πŸ’•πŸ˜Œ Mask of the Week Challenge πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

Yummy masks smells are such a treat @Cissy63 πŸ˜„

I'm intrigued by the Bliss Marshmellow mask 🧁
