Let's keep this thread on topic!
Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)
5x Item/Brand Earned - 434
Total Points Earned - 1285
Links are not allowed. In lieu of links, please read this:
Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.
| Multiplier | 1 | 1.25 | 1.5 | 2 | 2.25 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.25 | 3.5 | 4 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 5 | 7.25 | 7.5 | 8 | 8.25 | 8.5 | 9 | 9.25 | 9.5 | 10 | 10.25 | 10.5 |

Not officially, hahaha.. I was just getting the email issues that others were having in regards to not getting certain coupons! (had to change my email) Didn't officially get blacklisted hehehe, I was just being dramatic
I’m so tempted to buy the Dyson hairdryer! I’ve got the 20% off and now the extra bonus points. Does anyone already own the Dyson. Is it worth it?????
@Lazybeautybeast just curious but which color did you buy??😃
SO glad you said that!! Just looked it up and yep. The Dyson coupon expired yesterday. 😓Ah well.. the silver lining is that I've decided to save for the Airwrap, which will hopefully be available next year (always OOS now) with a multiplier and 20% off. It includes the hairdryer, albeit a lower power one, plus all the attachments for $150+ more. 😁 Maybe it'll be what I need to qualify for Diamond for 2020.
I was just talking to my hairstylist about this yesterday because she has one. First, hers broke after she had it for several months. Granted she uses it a whole lot more than a regular person just using it on themselves, but you'd think it would still last a year. However, she found that it took so much longer to dry clients' hair with another dryer that she was scheduling appointments for longer. Also she had taken it in to be fixed and they gave her a new one, so they did correct the problem. She thinks maybe because she bought one of the first ones available it was glitchy.
Omg, I want to know too! My hubs just hinted if I really wanted it, it could be my Xmas present and we could buy it today so I could get the 7X + 5X points. 😁 But being a cheapo, it goes against my nature to spend SO much money. With the 20% off though and using 2000 points, it might be worth it! I'm more impressed with shaving off time off my hair drying... always racing to do my hair before my toddler wakes up, on work days!!
@amy0205 That’s what I want to know too! I’ve been wanting a dyson ever since it first came out but just couldn’t splurge $400 on a hair dryer. Now I’m thinking of getting one but I’m not sure if it’ll save me time to dry my hair or lightweight. Also I didn’t receive the coupon that includes dyson so I’m not sure if I want to pay full price for that thing 🤔
😯😯😯
If anyone hasn't used their 5x in-store yet, and has the fragrance or hair tools multiplier, and is thinking about making a trip to store.. today is THE DAY nevermind, I can't read. DOTCOM only 😞
Also, Sugarpill is up
Yessssssssssssss! 7x and you can stack with one of the 5x deals. I don't need anything, I don't even *want* anything... but if I don't buy something right now, it's like I'm leaving money on the table. Amirite?! LOL.
Seriously though, I just bought a 5.1 oz bottle of Giorgio Armani Si, and I have a 3.4 oz bottle of Tory Burch Just like heaven I haven't even opened. The last thing I need is another fragrance. (Not counting the stuff that's already opened). I'm also all stocked up on hair tools.
@itscarinUnidentified @ohheyitscindyk
I admit I succumbed to the lure of 11x. I spent just enough to knock me back over 2k points so that I'll have one more chance to spend some points before the 20% expires 😁
Not that I need anything else, but that's a totally different story 😂
@itscarin Same here, it's so tempting! I was able to resist buying a fragrance last night, but circumstances have changed... Ughh but I have so many perfumes! And my darn dear boyfriend for some reason doesn't want me to buy him a cologne.
Daft question of the day - Do I earn points when I spend points? I have 2,000+ burning a hole in my virtual pocket but I can wait if the 7x multiplier doesn’t apply.
@savvy4 Not a dumb question at all! Yes, you earn points, depending on the multiplier. For example, a 5x fragrance multiplier you will earn 4x instead of 5x because you will get 4x bonus points but not the 1x for the base points.
The 3, 5, and 7x multiplier is good for your total purchase.
If you buy $200 worth of fragrance and use 2000 points for $125 you will get:
$200 * 4x bonus points for fragrance
$75 * 3/5/7 x bonus points for total SPEND
If you are not buying a fragrance or a hair tool, you will only get your 7x on what you *spend* not what the points cover. E.g. you buy $200 worth of products, get $125 off with points, so you only get 7x points on the $75 you spent.
That’s super helpful and thanks for explaining so clearly. I screenshot your answer for the future.
There’s such a lot to remember when building a cart - multipliers, GWPs, Ebates or Topcashback. I can’t believe I used to buy what I needed and never get anything free or stack points. The bad old days, lol.
@RGbrown I read the multiplier to mean online purchases only, do you think it'll apply in store as well?
Dangit, in my excitement, I overlooked the .com part
facepalm
In my defense 😛 I've never seen an online only multiplier before (of course, I'd never seen an in-store only one before either, but that was at least differentiated by being a coupon)
