Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):

Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.  

Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.

The product id is the number given to the item in the URL.  So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number.  If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta. 

It's not a search, but the direct url to the page. 

Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar.  It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204  Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.

My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:

(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward.  E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward.  Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase.  Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.

Oh wait...I'm trying to not buy so much stuff (again...I keep failing lol). Hmmmmm...but glitter sunscreen is definitely something I don't have...it would certainly be unique to my collection, and not having a glitter sunscreen is obviously a HUGE GAPING HOLE in my not-nearly-as-comprehensive-as-I-thought-it-was collection. I might have to talk myself into it soon after all 😛

Just reviewing that super stellar spreadsheet and it looks like this has been all very close to last years bags/break/sales schedule. It didn't look like there was a platinum perks day in Dec, just a palette deal. Also there wasnt many gwp bags/beauty breaks in Dec. Curious to see if that is the case this year as well and if its worth taking advantage of the points multiplier now with these gwps??? still I'm tempted to wait, maybe another 20% is coming?

There should be two more hours of Cyber Monday deals...if you haven't ordered yet, this is a sweet little bonus. If I had realized it was coming, I would have waited.. 😋

ETA: iirc, the lovely @ohheyitscindyk posted a new gwp for today as well (2pc Prada minis, maybe?), but Ulta has changed the way some gifts show up (or don't show up) in the app, so I m not seeing it yet. Hopefully the full site will update with it, usually around 20 minutes after the hour. 😃

After a day of everything going wrong, this is one thing that went right!

Thanks for the tag, it linked me to the entire thread and wow, you ladies crack me up! my sceptic hubby isnt sure he's onboard with all those ulta boxes, but he still wants me to order him things all the time. lol Also thanks for the points heads up, good to know for next time!

@RGbrown and @ohheyitscindyk I'm curious though, those offers are "activating" just after midnight but the points never seem to show in the cart until 2am, after the sale ends (I'm only in the app). Have you had any luck with that otherwise? I made up a cart after midnight to try it and was only getting 1.5x or I would have gone through with a big Kate Somerville purchase had the points multiplier worked. That double gwp was sooooooo tempting and I really want to try more KS before comitting to full sizes $$$. (The hydration warriors set isn't $75 of product unless you are using travel size pricing.)

Yes, as I posted just a few replies down, I've had points post correctly even though they weren't showing up in my cart yet 😁 I've even had them post correctly when activating a multiplier immediately after placing the order.

Nice call on waiting! I wish I had remembered before midnight that I thought (erroneously) there was a gwp today...I would have held out myself. I'm just not used to sales running past midnight, and didn't think there'd be anything else to go with it 😐

They should post correctly when the order ships; I accidentally ordered once before a multiplier started showing points in my cart, but still got the correct points when they posted!

(I've also accidentally placed an order without activating a multiplier (yikes)...activated it right after the order, and got the multiplier points when they posted...so there's definitely some fudge-room in activation vs posting, even if you don't see them in your cart 🙂 )
