Let's keep this thread on topic!
Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)
5x Item/Brand Earned - 434
Total Points Earned - 1285

Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.
| Multiplier | 1 | 1.25 | 1.5 | 2 | 2.25 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.25 | 3.5 | 4 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 5 | 7.25 | 7.5 | 8 | 8.25 | 8.5 | 9 | 9.25 | 9.5 | 10 | 10.25 | 10.5 |

The Black Friday page is live at: ultaDOTcom/blackfriday
@dapt529 Thank you so much, I didn't receive an email for this, but I found it when I logged in 🙂
Edit: Just received the email haha.
The fine print says that it expires at 11:59 a.m. PST next Wednesday, the 27th. Since new GWPs & deals are posted at midnight CST, we should be able to use it through 1:59 a.m. CST Thanksgiving.
Edit again: Looks like all offers have been claimed.
In addition to the 23-pc GWP, they've also got 4 Mystery Bag GWPs with an $80 purchase.
My own previous experience with their Mystery Bags has not been great but hey - I was buying over $80 worth of stuff anyway...
Thanks @kittichick!
Product IDs (Links have also been added to the spreadsheet)
Number 1: =xlsImpprod18651061
Number 2: =xlsImpprod17721035
Number 3: =pimprod2010425
Number 4: =pimprod2003379
Edit: These are my guesses for 1, 3, & 4, based on the product IDs. I think 2 is a past Beauty Break.
Number 1: 3pc YSL Mon Paris (the gift box is not pictured), from 9/16/18
Number 3: 2pc Kopari, from Perks Day 9/30/19
Number 4: 3pc Ralph Lauren, from 1/30/19
According to @notcreative, like last year, there will be an 8pc DS mystery gift with a $60 purchase next Wednesday, the 27th through next Saturday, the 30th.
In case anyone is still wondering, I just placed an Ulta gc order onlinethrough rakuten 20 min ago and so far, I’m not showing rakuten giving me% back on it. Not banking on gc’s to count. Oh and I got my first facial ever yesterday with Ulta. I was super scared but it turned out good. Only drawback is I’d prefer a different brand than Dermalogica which isn’t a good fit for my skin sensitivities. I was lucky I picked a store that had a really nice spacious separate room like a spa. Very clean, spotless and modern. Relaxing with nice music dimmed lights after a long stressful week. Facialist was accurate diagnosing my skin issues. I’ve been lazy about keeping my pores cleaner with pile up of sunscreen and face oils. She cleaned out my pores without scarring or painful squeezing. She told me to stop applying face oils to my nose LOL. Only bummer is they said the new Ulta’s they’re building won’t have a separate room but just out in the open with a separation. If that’s the case I probably won’t get facials. Don’t knowif the focus will be more express facials or they’re just cutting costs. ***Also I did not receive the ABH offer either but it’s not a product I’d use so I don’t feel bad about missing out. Benefit is my fave brand for brows. I noticed Ulta never sends me the targeted offers that wouldn’t interest me for the most part. I don’t think it means anything not to get it. Like I never buy MAC from them not because I don’t like MAC and I never get the MAC offers but I am a MAC fan so this is where profiling may not be accurate.
Did everyone get the ABH freebie offer? I don't seem to get those freebies anymore, so I dunno if I didn't get it or just can't find it since I don't usually open all the emails, but I've been looking and can't find it...can someone that got it tell me what day or email it was on? @RGbrown @FionaMD Thanks.
I didn't get it. I rarely get targeted offers.
For future reference, these are listed on the spreadsheet. The fab @ohheyitscindyk does a magnificent job of keeping it up to date for us. ✨
It came out on the 17th. I'm too lazy to look back again, but I think I got two emails that day, and it was in the first one. It's a tiny little graphic maybe 2/3 of the way down the email...very easy to overlook. I doubt it went to everyone though...these are normally targeted.
@treestar86 I didn't get it, either 😞 In fact, I don't remember the last time I got one of those freebie offers, either with or without a code.
thanks @ohheyitscindyk . I don't either, but I don't usually look at the emails unless it says "free" or some other deal. used to get them a lot.
Rakuten has ulta at 15% cash back. This is a targeted offer and expires 15 hours from now. Just a heads up. it also seems to only work through the email. On my app ulta shows at 8% but through the email when I click on the link it says 15%.
Does anyone know — if I buy a $100 gc from ulta, will I get 15% cash back on the gc purchase? Or will rakuten only give me 15% cash back on a non gift card purchase, such as actual products?
i read their faq and it seemed to say that you could not get cash back on a purchase that was paid for with a gc. That doesn’t make sense to me.
It also seemed to indicate you could only earn cash back on gc if you purchased the gc through rakuten’s gc store.
does anyone have experience with this?
If you buy a GC through Ulta, it's actually processed through Cashstar and you will not receive cash back.
If you pay for an Ulta transaction with a GC, you do earn cash back.
Does rakuten even sell gcs? I'm not seeing it on their site, but I could be overlooking it. Will have to poke around a bit more...I'm always down for a good GC deal 😁
@RGbrown Thanks! It’s rakuten and then just /gift-cards
maybe I’m misreading but my understanding is that if you buy a gc through those links they’ll give you cash back for your purchase.
theres 10% back on 1800 flowers, for example. If I buy $100 gc I believe I’ll get 10% cash back on $100.
if I then go and buy $100 worth of flowers using that gc, I’m not sure if I would also get 10% cash back on that order if it is paid for with a gift card. That’s where their rules got confusing for me.
I'm actually quite confused about it myself. RMN *used* to have a deal like that as well...buy certain stores' gcs, get x% back. But when you clicked on it, it took you to a page where you could select the gc amount you wanted and check out directly on RMN's site. When I click on a supposed gc store at Rakuten, it just takes me to their cashback page, with no mention of gcs at all. Heck, looking at the Best Western listing (when I click from the gc page to the BW page), the only exclusion specifically stated is "Cash Back is not available for Gift Cards."
RMN recently ditched their gc program...I'm kinda wondering if Rakuten has done the same and just hasn't scrubbed all of it from their site? RMN left their gc page up for several weeks before finally taking it down.
I would not expect to receive CB for buying a gc through any of the rakuten links, and it might be worth reaching out to them to ask about it, if you are still interested.
For Ulta specifically, I'd recommend the $20 back deal they have on their site now. And for general gc disounts in the future, I'm currently using Raise. They have two programs: "used" gcs, where folks offload unwanted cards at a discount, or they now also sell "new" cards...Raise sells them directly, they've never been in anyone else's hands, and they offer a set % back to you in rewards that you can use on future cards. Ulta is currently 5%. Raise also offers a 365 day guarantee, and they are super quick to uphold it the time or two I've had to use it.
