Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)

Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.

I'm so glad that your actual Palette wasn't damaged! It's a really bad feeling to see the packaging damaged. Your heart sinks. My Palette was the only product in my shipment, so it was just sent to me wrapped in a bubble bag. I'm going to stop whining soon.

Some of the discounts from Fall Haul sale are still lingering, or rather have disappeared and returned. Don’t know for how long. Check the sale section, there are 2,601 items there currently.
A few of my observations about the new Ulta normal:
1. Don’t trust that sale prices will stick until the end of sale. I’ve noticed twice already that some items revert back to regular price by 8-9pm EST.
2. Don’t trust that GWPs will still be there 5 minutes later. As I was building my cart this morning, a NARS item qualified for 2 brand GWPs that stacked. I checked 15 minutes later, one of them was already pulled. Luckily, it had those rare and unique minis of Laguna bronzer and Orgasm blush in it, so I’m not too bummed.
3. “Waiting and seeing” (which used to be the fun part for me) typically ends up in disappointment now. If I build a cart that looks good enough, with stuff I will actually use and I have a coupon that works, I place my order.
4. Take screenshots!!! After I placed my order with a $5.49 total after points, the email confirmation came and listed a $23.03 total (most of the sale items reverted to regular price, see #1 above). Here I go into contacting the CS drudgery…
Does anybody have any other observations that seem to hold up in this strange overextended Ulta website mess interim? 😉
@civ2ruI'm late to the party but when did Ulta stop showing you the amount of points you'll earn if you use a coupon? I got an offer for bonus points contingent upon your purchase with a Ulta cc, (which I don't have) and when I went to check out the points earned to see if they would do the bonus points anyway, it wasn't calculating my points at checkout. Googled this and found out if you remove your coupon it will show you the points earned.
I don't understand why they would change that. Anyway, I'm patiently sitting on a cart looking for an attractive GWP to pull the trigger and today's brow sampler isn't it. I would have done it for this GWP but I missed it.
@itscarin Ulta took away the ability to see exact points after coupon before placing order several months ago, when they first changed the interface of both website and app. We’ve missed it ever since! 😏
As for GWP, I hear you. If it makes you feel better, that $150 GWP got canceled from under me, 7 hours after I placed my order, so you didn’t miss out. Hope something better drops this week and you get your goodies! 🤞🏻
For 4, check your method of payment for the correct total first...I've seen a few folks follow up and say the amount they were actually charged wound up being correct, it was just a problem with the confirmation itself displaying incorrect totals. I certainly can't say no one got screwed in this glitch, but I don't think it's a case where *everyone* is getting overcharged.
Assuming you used a cc to pay the balance, if your pending charge is correct, there's no worry...Ulta can't push a final charge that's higher than whatever was originally pended. I'd imagine it's the same for PP.
@RGbrown Good point. My biggest beef with them right now is that they cancelled the $150 GWP from my order 7 hours later. Out of stock. I have heard reports of such practices, but it has never happened to me personally before. Has that ever happened to you, on a GWP this big? I wrote CS an angry email, but I’m not sure they are going to do a thing about it. Perhaps I should add “#5. Maybe don’t shop with Ulta altogether.”
@civ2ruIf there's a 20% coupon out you're almost guaranteed no GWPs, right? 😉 I think because of brow day there won't be a mondy night beauty break, so there's just going to be Wednesday, and that's it, right?
@itscarin Wednesday is a “sure thing” (as sure as anything is with Ulta). But we have also seen GWPs on unusual weekdays this year, Tue-Thu-Fri, so there’s no telling… 🤷
Edit: I consulted our glorious spreadsheet, and looks like in 2022 there was an all-day 17pc Beauty Bag (choice of 3) with a $80 buy-in on Tuesday of the corresponding week, good for a week. The thresholds are higher this year, but here’s hoping. 🤞🏻
I already moved to #5. It’s just too much hassle right now. I’m glad I sold my stock last year 😂 I hope it does get better as it was a great place to shop and lots of people depend on their jobs there.

I don't think I had one this large cancelled, but after having a couple of restocked gwps cancelled in the past, I just avoid those completely these days. Of course, once upon a time, the mysterious midnight restock of an oos gwp would only last for a brief time, like they just loaded one or two, but now with all this site revamp mess, they come and go for days and it's so hard to tell anymore, especially if you don't know if went oos previously. I'm pretty sure this one went oos on Friday, but then showed up again Saturday and today. Sigh.
I still need 233 points to make a nice even 4k set...debating if the headache is worth it to try and get that now so I can use my 20% + points before exp, or if I should just wait for the holidays. A OUAI hair oil would get me most of it for $30 (5x brand + 3x Hair Goals), and I wouldn't mind grabbing some Essie Smooth-e with the app exclusive deal...but my app doesn't work right and they haven't updated it in a month now, so I guess they don't want my money that way. If Essie lasted longer than a day, I'd consider going in store and asking if they'd honor it there, but I doubt I'm going to get out of the house today, so that's out too. I'm pretty sure this is my longest stretch ever without shopping...looks like my last order was July 31 😯 I've tried placing a couple of orders unsuccessfully since then, so I guess I'm just thankful Ulta has saved me some money over the last couple of months 🤷♀️
@RGbrown That OUAI hair oil sounds like a good enough way to get to 4k points, if you’ll use it eventually. Maybe Ulta will drop a decent $50 GWP this week and your app cooperates… 🤞🏻 This is just too much hassle and stress for (mainly) non-essential shopping that’s supposed to be all fun.
I had no luck with FB chat and email, but finally got through the regular CS chat. As I’m not looking forward to this order whatsoever now, because of the short-shipped issue, I requested the entire thing canceled.The associate said they can re-route and refund it once it ships, and promised to keep me posted. We’ll see. I’m trying to hold off hitting Diamond until November, to time the salon service re-qualification reward further out. I was ready to try a low OOP points haul with a nice GWP and coupon, but after that nice GWP got canceled from under me I’m no longer psyched about it. Feeling a bit sour. Still… #FirstWorldProblems 😉
I don't think I've ever heard of a re-route/refund before...I wonder if this is a new thing as part of these disastrous updates? 🤔 Good luck with it! I hate to say it, but I'll be shocked if they do it, more shocked if they actually keep you updated or contact you about it again even once, and might have a full on heart attack if it all goes like they promised 😱 I am desperately curious to know how it works out!
My guess is that you'll get the package and be forced to return it all in store (*if* everything is in your shipment to begin with, which is questionable...if it isn't, that'll be a fun headache to take care of first 🙄). I'm also quite the pessimist, so maybe don't listen to me 😅
