Let's keep this thread on topic!
Ulta points refresher (because yes, it is that complicated):
Item #1 - $53.50
Item #3 - $108.50 (and is eligible for a certain item/brand 5x multiplier)
* There is also a 5x all purchase multiplier and you are platinum so you get 1.25x
Total Spent - $162
Base Points Earned - 162
Platinum .25x Earned - 41 (162 * .25 = 40.5, and rounding up)
5x All Purchases Earned - 648 (it ends up being 4x because you don't count the base points)
5x Item/Brand Earned - 434
Total Points Earned - 1285
Links are not allowed. In lieu of links, please read this:
Please add product id numbers and sku numbers so people can find items on ulta.
Just to clarify, there is an item number that Ulta lists on the website, right under the picture of the item.
The product id is the number given to the item in the URL. So Ulta's site follows this formula of having the url and then the very last part of the url is "productId=xlsImpprod" followed by an 8 digit number. If you use that "productId" number you can get to the page of any item on ulta.
It's not a search, but the direct url to the page.
Click on any product, and then view the url in the address bar. It will look like this: ulta's website (not using the actual domain because BT admins don't like that) /prep-prime-fix?productId=xlsImpprod15921204 Replace the 8 digit product id of the item you want to see with the id of the product you're looking for.
My very unofficial Ulta point multiplier to approximate percent discount chart:
(This is a number where I use the multiplier to divide by 2000 to see how many dollars I would have to spend in order to redeem a $125 reward. E.g. 2000 points divided by 1 point multiplier means I have to spend $2000 to get the $125 reward. Adding how much I had to spend ($2000) + the reward ($125), and then using the reward ($125) to divide the total purchase ($2125), I get a discount of approximately 6% based on the total purchase. Note: the total purchase is based on the concept that you are spending just enough to reach the next $125 reward and combines the reward value with how much money you had to spend to get that reward.
| Multiplier | 1 | 1.25 | 1.5 | 2 | 2.25 | 2.5 | 3 | 3.25 | 3.5 | 4 | 4.25 | 4.5 | 5 | 7.25 | 7.5 | 8 | 8.25 | 8.5 | 9 | 9.25 | 9.5 | 10 | 10.25 | 10.5 |

My final haul for the day. "Worth it" is totally subjective, but I had fun, spent a little time with both sisters, and spent $0 oop, so it was worth it to me. We wound up hitting three stores because we had nothing better to do (and there was no stampede here anywhere...when we left the last store around noon, they still had Q's to hand out). I got a $5 at the first two stores and a $10 at the last one...but after next to no sleep, I couldn't figure out what I wanted to buy with the $10, so I'll have to go back later this week lol. The S&S stuff will be split up as stocking stuffers, and I'm excited to try the TGIN leave in (it's a foil, but it's a huge one at 2oz). And one store handed out the 10off50 with any purchase instead of requiring a $40 purchase, so I'll be putting that to good use this week too (they expire on the 24th, so I'm hoping for a nice Cyber Fundays haul with it!). Now I need to poke around the site for cheap stuff I might want, and decide if I want to make the rounds tomorrow too 😋
Soooooooo... my husband and I went to our closest Ulta this morning. We were first in line, and each won $5 coupons. Two hours, 1/8 gas tank, FIVE Ulta’s later—we won eight $5 coupons, one $10 coupon and one $25 coupon ( my husband won both of the larger coupons?!). It was rather fun! We got lots of small stocking stuffers, and a travel size bottle of Amazing Grace for my mom. Free presents? Heck yes! I quite enjoyed this beauty fest today 🙂
Ok, I arrived 1/2 an hr before opening. There are 20 people waiting in line. An Ulta SA just handed me a Admit one ticket. Lets see what happens....
are you in a big area, @Buootiful ? I'm in a small-ish town, so I figured/hoped there wouldn't be that many people waiting...
Yeah, its a big city and this is a high traffic store. I chose this one cuz I got the Paul Mitchell gift with the rose gold bow during the 200 pts bonanza. I only noticed the gwp online this week. We will see 😁 @treestar86
ahhh, hopefully I'll be safe then...if I have the right start time, anyway... 😛 @Buootiful
I got the $5 one...as did my guest. (and got asked like 7x if I was finding everything ok, as usual...) no samples.
My sister was told in store they are doing it again tomorrow, why is everyone at Ulta never on the same page.
I was also told by an employee that both days would have gifts for the first 100. I even repeated it back just to make sure I understood correctly, and she said it again and stressed what a big event it was and how everybody would get a bunch of “swag” and prizes.
Interesting; both stores I went to today said they had more for tomorrow
@RGbrown Ok I was hoping you could confirm because the details made it seem like it would be held on both days, thanks 🙂 I guess even the person who runs their Twitter doesn't know what's going on lol.
@ohheyitscindyk @RGbrown yes, it's even more confusing...the one that I posted from today said it was both days as well.
Helpful tip if you're planning on being early to the BeautyFest...Ulta updated store hours online when they made the announcement, so don't be thinking that you need be there an hour before whatever is listed.
We were here before the store employees 🤦
ETA: from today's email, the BeautyFest coupon offer should be available online as well.
@RGbrown I noticed they changed the hours online and went to yelp to confirm regular hours
At the first store, yes, they had an employee with a bag of stuff, and we could pick something from it. I picked out a DS of tgin leave in conditioner, one sis got a 3pk of boscia sake eye masks, and the other sis got an elf lip tint and makeup bag. The bag of samples wasn't terribly interesting for the most part, but we were early in line and had the best selection. It was mostly perfume samples and concealer cards and other common (boring) gwp stuffers.
Since there were no more than 10 folks at the first store, we are on our way to a second right now 😋
ETA: second store had samples as well; the manager was walking around just handing out random items from it. One sis got a Wet Brush!
Forgot to mention earlier, the first store was handing out the 10off50 with any purchase as well, even though it's supposed to be with a $40 purchase. 👍
All in all, it has been a fun morning! Sure, you're probably gonna get $5, but that's 5 free tweezers or other Sweet & Shimmer items lol. And attendance has been extremely low, at least here...I could probably hit both of my other stores this afternoon and still get coupons. If you've got some free time, swing by and see what you get 😊
@RGbrown So cool that you hit up two stores - and could've gone to others! 🙂
