Due to some technical glitches with the original Show Me Your Nails Thread, I am starting a new thread with @vegchililover78's blessing (She says "hello," by the way!).
Please share your nail looks, nail art and manicures!
...And don't forget to check out @Beadshopgirl's Nail Stamping Thread for stamping inspiration! ❤️

Thank u so much ❤️ 💓
I've been slowly getting back to being more consistent with painting my nails. For the most part, I've just been wearing clear polish or a nail treatment of some sort for the last month or so. Doing some catch up with posting but as I was scrolling through my phone for pictures of my June mani's, it seems as if I had an "On Wednesdays we wear pink" theme taking place. 😂 At least for the first half of this month; though now, I feel like I need to go for another pink polish next week. 💅
Today's pink was courtesy of China Glaze Roses Are Thorns, a vibrant hot pink neon. Like most neons, this one dries down to a matte / demi-matte finish. This is 2 coats of the base color and one coat of Glisten & Glow Top Coat.
And from earlier this month:
A little nail art ...
This one didn't quite turn out the way I wanted but I'm planning on redo-ing this look again in the future, with a sponge wedge and a slight adjustment to how I position/order the polishes used, primarily LynBDesigns Aries (from the 2022 Zodiac Collection). We shall see if that helps for a smoother ombre effect. 🤞
The idea for this ombe came from my wanting to do an ombre nail and my use of Lyn B Design Aries the previous week.
I love the China Glaze neon pink shade @itsfi ! Your nails are looking great ( I think they’re the longest I’ve seen ) 💕 I can’t wait to see your re-do of your nail art ( where did you find the sponge tip applicator ? It’s the first time I’ve seen one like yours )
@keana1, the neon hot pink polish is super bright and cheery! Oh my goodness, I do think these are the longest my nails have been; thank you!
I found the sponge tip applicators on amazon. I won't be able to post a link and the ones I picked up are no longer available but here's something similar -
If you do search "nail sponges for ombre" or "ombre brush", it should populate a few different options or sets.
Thanks @itsfi ❣️Which do you prefer, the triangular makeup sponges or the sponge applicator? I assume that the sponge applicator is less messy than the triangular ones…My nails were getting quite long but I broke on just where the nail is still directly on the skin so I had to cut the others … 🥺
@keana1, I generally like the look I can create with the makeup wedges, but the sponge applicator gives me better control and creates less of a mess around my nails so less clean up. I found some sponges at Daiso a month or so ago that look smaller than the makeup wedges I was using and I'm interested to see how these "cosmetic puffs" as they are named will work out for ombre nails. Maybe I'll do an ombre with all three applicators to see side by side how they compare. Stay tuned ...
Oh my goodness, my longest nail broke this morning! Le sigh. It was a fairly clean break and I have the slightest bit of a nail edge left. Like you, I ended up cutting / filing down the others, so no they're all the same length.
@itsfi Wow! Ok so first your nails have gotten so long! All the extra care seems to be working! I’m so impressed!!!!
CG roses among thorns is such a pretty vibrant pink!! Perfect for pink on a Wednesday!!!
LBD Aires is so pretty alone and with the nail art! I really love the ombré effect you created! So pretty! 😍 And the nails with just Aires looks so good! Your nails are at the perfect length!!!
Thank you @ather! That's very encouraging to hear. What you don't see is my thumb nail - it's a little wonky at the moment - 3/4 of the free edge is at a good length, the other 1/4 is growing at the snailiest of snail's paces. 😅 I may just try filing it and saying that I intended it to be a crooked oval shape. Hahahaha!
@itsfi Hmmmm I wonder why the 1/4 is growing so slow??? I’m sure it will catch up! My nails seem to be growing fast but they seem to break just as fast! I’ve been wearing Nail envy to help with strengthening!! It’s boring to not have colour on my nails. 💅
@ather, I know, right?! I can't figure it out, but I'm using it as the curve / slant for a round shape nail on my next mani. And my longest fingernail broke this morning, while I was heading out the door. 😕 I took a pic so I could see how long my nail had grown. Bright side, it'll grow back.
I love the CG, @itsfi ! 💞 I think LBD Aries is gorgeous...I might be prejudiced since I have (and worn) that color. 😁 I agree that a sponge/makeup wedge may work better for the gradient. You'll have a bigger surface and be able to load up (and dab off) the excess polishes.
If you have the Maniology Pardon My French plate, you can try using the large rectangle: stripe all your colors, scrape over a few times to mix, and pick up with your stamper.
@Titian06, thank you. China Glaze Roses Are Thorns is a fun and fabulously vibrant shade; I’ve gotten asked about it by random strangers in store.
I started doing ombré nails a couple of years ago and I am sure it was beginner’s luck. Top coat is one of the keys for me. I used makeup wedges and latex polish on the skin around my nail bed until early last year I think it was and then went with these makeup sponge sticks worked better for me. I’ll go back and try the wedges again with some adjustments.
Thanks so much for the tip on stamping; I’ve made a note but I’m not ready quite yet to try ombré with a stamp. I’ll give stamping in general another try at some point before the year is over. 🤞🏼I did more of it in the earliest days of the pandemic; it’s on my list of things to re-try. That is a lengthier list than I expected. 😂
@itsfi that China Glaze pink is gorgeous! That's definitely a perfect Summer pink 🙂
It’s definitely a summer shade @CookieGirl1! 😊 Perfect for days like this when the sun has decided to hide. 🌥️ Not unusual for the city but hopefully the sun will come out later this afternoon. It made me think of you when I was applying it. It’s a CookieGirl1 neon in my mind!
@CorgiMommy, thank you. All these different pink shades are fun colors. 💅
Beautiful nails 💅 I love these colors on you and you do them so well 🫶❤️ @itsfi @Stunning!
@peculiarzmakeup, thank you so much! These were fun to play with! 💗
This is Olive & June’s Carrot Juice
I needed 3 coats to get it to even out.

I’ve never seen an orange nail polish that’s unique like this one before @Cissy63 ( it’s like a mix of orange and coral ) lovely nails 🧡
